You will be accommodated at Hazlebury Bryan. The venue belongs to a local Dorset artist and is filled with beautiful rooms for you to enjoy. The house sits in 20 acres of garden, fields, and woodland. You will practice yoga in the large drawing room, filled with light and a wonderful energy. There are 6 beautiful rooms, 3 en-suite in the first floor, and 3 on the second floor with shared bathroom, both twins and doubles.

Yoga and meditation sessions

At the stillness retreats, all yoga classes are held by Saira Francis, an experienced and knowledgeable teacher who is passionate about yoga and the yogic lifestyle. She will work with you over your day or weekend to develop your practice whether you are an experienced yogi or a complete beginner.

Classes are Vinyasa Flow yoga, combining breath with movement into a moving meditation. Energy is cleared, the Pranic Body is activated, and blocks are released both physically, emotionally, and spiritually. All classes and workshops are optional. If you wish to miss a session to relax or chill out that is all up to you. There is no pressure, this is your time.

On this retreat, Mellulah would like to create a nurturing, non-competitive environment where both able yogis and novice yogis can feel comfortable and at ease. The atmosphere at Mellulah is always relaxed and welcoming to all. Classes are of mixed ability, offering a challenging but chilled and fun practice where the intention is set on finding balance within yourselves, moving towards peace in your hearts and most importantly stilling the mind through yoga.

You will also explore pranayama, breathing techniques to lower stress levels and encourage serenity and mindfulness in your yoga practice both on and off the mat. You will often practice yoga Nidra at the end of the day on this retreat. This practice, translated from Sanskrit as "Yogic Sleep", can help you to learn to relax and helps to reduce anxiety. This practice is also excellent for bringing about positive thinking on a deeply subconscious level.

Meditation sessions teach simple and effective techniques for you to take away with you and explore in your daily life at home. Mellulah Therapy & Yoga Retreats wishes to offer you a space to discover the benefits of meditation and there will be Mellulah meditation opportunities for you to discuss your meditation practice with teachers over the weekend. Meditation classes are either held in silence or guided and are based on Zen and Tibetan Buddhist traditions.

Sound healing workshops

Sound healing workshops are often a part of the retreats. Preet Kaur joins you regularly and the workshops are beautiful, very healing experiences. The gong is a sacred and ancient instrument of healing, rejuvenation, and transformation. The gong is the greatest synthesizer in the world. It synthesizes everything so that it comes into functional harmony. To heal is to make whole, so where there are functional harmony and holistic resonance, healing takes place naturally.

On a physical level, the gong releases tension and blocks in the body, it stimulates a higher functioning of the glandular and nervous system, it increases prana, the vital life force and improves circulation. The gong also works deeply on the mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. The gong purifies and quietens the mind. It literally cuts through the linear mind and clears the clutter from the subconscious mind to reveal the radiant and authentic self.

The gong has the capacity to bring you to your neutral mind that is wise and non-judgemental. It helps turn the mind to zero, a state of stillness where innate wisdom can be accessed. Another benefit that comes from the mind stilling is repaired at the DNA and cellular level allowing deep healing to take place.

Join Preet Kaur for a sacred sound healing meditation. You will prepare yourself to receive the healing vibrations of the gong with breath, mantra and relaxation exercises, then all there is left to do is to lie down and allow the healing waves of the gong to penetrate deep into our being allowing healing to take place.

Saira Francis
Saira's yoga classes are influenced from Ashtanga and Vinyasa flow. She also teaches meditation based on Tibetan Buddhist and Zen teachings. She has been practicing yoga and meditation for over 25 years. Complementary therapies have been being her life and her passion since 2004. She has trained in aromatherapy, reflexology, holistic massage, hot stone massage, chakra massage, Indian head massage, and as a Reiki master and teacher and Archangel healer.
Sue Leonard
Sue Leonard is a natural juice therapist.
Preet Kaur
Preet is a Kundalini yoga teacher, sound healer, musician, singer, acupuncturist, and Reiki practitioner. She teaches regular Kundalini yoga classes, one-to-one sound healing sessions, and facilitates workshops and retreats in sound healing and Kundalini yoga in the UK and abroad.
