Allow your body and mind to relax with yoga under the guidance of Marina through this retreat in Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, France! Perfectly located in the peaceful and secluded 20-acre woodland, La Roane is the perfect setting to spend a week of rest and relaxation. The team of La Roane will do everything they possibly can to support you on your inner journey and make it unforgettable.
During the retreat, you will reside in twin-bedded (or double bed rooms) of 3 beautiful buildings in La Roane, set around a large oval-shaped pool in a lovely sunny spot in the center of the garden. It is an ecological freshwater pool cleaned without the use of chlorine or salt. The accommodation will be in comfortably furnished single and double rooms. A luxury yurt (with hot water, carpets, and comfortable double beds) is also available.
There will be plenty of bathrooms and indoor towels will be provided. The sauna and table-tennis table are nearby and in the woods, you will find a tree house (usually for the group leaders), a labyrinth, and plenty of spots for quiet reflection. Massages (Thai foot massage, shiatsu, aromatherapy) are available for 45 EUR per hour.
This 8-day yoga retreat is open and accessible to everybody, regardless of your previous experience or ability. Absolute beginners are very welcomed! The practices will include movement meditation, mantra chant and sound, guided visualization, creative writing, partner yoga and Thai yoga massage, walking meditation, and Nidra yoga (deep relaxation). Besides the practices, you will also enjoy two exciting excursions.
During the morning yoga sessions, you will focus on posture and breath. Marina will give a clear and detailed guidance, as well as encouraging good alignment and a confident direction in your yoga practice. She will also suggest ways in integrating yoga into modern life and close the sessions with a restorative relaxation. You will feel energized, relaxed, and ready for the day.
The afternoon sessions will be explorative and interactive with a broader range of practices to deepen your experience of yoga, remove energetic or creative blocks, cultivate a more intimate relationship with ourselves, and experience mindfulness and meditation and feel freedom through self-expression.
This 8-day retreat will include two excursions. First, you will canoe down the gorges of Aveyron river or visit another medieval village and go for a walk. Then, you will visit a local market which is followed by a picnic by the river.
This retreat will take place in La Roane, South West France. It is peaceful, secluded, and easily accessible with good air, train, and road connections. It is set in a 20-acre woodland with wonderful walks to explore, a paradise for nature lovers. There, you will find an abundance of wildlife: deer, hares, buzzards, singing frogs, butterflies (over 40 species of butterflies are identified recently), and wild flowers.
‘Roane’, pronounced ‘ro-anne’ means ‘red’ in the local patois and the name is taken from the color of the soil. The area around La Roane is great for walking and cycling (bicycles are available for free) with the spectacular Gorges de l’Aveyron just a mile away.
The local town, Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, a magical medieval town which retains its original charm, is 3 miles away. It boasts the oldest civic building in France, the 10th century Town Hall (it is now a museum), La Maison d'Amour (a medieval brothel), and the scene of a very colorful market which can be seen every Sunday. It was also the setting of "Charlotte Gray"’ starring Cate Blanchett and Spielberg's film "The Hundred-Foot Journey" starring Helen Mirren.
