A weekend of yoga and relaxation surrounded by 12 acres of private woodland. Enjoy getting back to nature with campfires, log burners and plenty of yoga. Through vinyasa and Forrest yoga, and woodland meditation, you will relax in nature. Notice the little things such as birdsong, the scurry of a small animal, swaying tree branches and fresh earthy smells. What are you waiting for?

During this retreat, you will be staying in an old Quaker meeting house in Lake District. The house is simple but comfortable. You will be sleeping in dorm style rooms with shared bathrooms. The kitchen is well equipped and the open plan lounge area is kept cozy with a wood burning stove. Sheets, pillows, and pillow cases are provided.
In the morning, you will wake up to Vinyasa and Forest yoga. Sun salutations and flow sequences will be your next activities followed by an indulgent Savasana. Each evening, enjoy gentle flow yoga and yoga Nidra to promote a deep state of relaxation and send you sweetly off to sleep. During the yoga Nidra practice, you will have the opportunity to set positive intentions to carry with you beyond the weekend. You can also snuggle up by the fire and enjoy the crackle and woodsmoke, accompanied by a hot drink and a few marshmallows for toasting.
The yoga sessions will take place in an old Quaker meeting house which is a peaceful space ideal for yoga. It also has the benefit of a large wood burning stove which will keep you nice and cozy in cold weather.
As for meditation, you will experience mindful meditation under the tree canopy and activities to connect with nature by exploring the wood and if the weather permits, this may include outdoor yoga.
Fiona started practicing yoga initially to aid in recovery after a back injury but it soon became interwoven into the fabric of her life. She teaches Vinyasa flow, pregnancy, and Restorative yoga both through retreat company Cowdance and also at classes local to her home in rural Lancashire. Fiona tries to help people to feel better connected to themselves and the natural world around them and, through this, feel happier and less stressed. As well as yoga asana practice, Fiona enjoys outdoor sports such as climbing, mountain biking, and hill walking.
Rebecca is happy, calm and grounded. She is often smiling brightly (dimples and all) sharing her passion and fun attitude towards life. Rebecca adopts a sensual, feeling nature to her classes by bringing awareness of breath in each class and using mindful movement. Her classes build strength in the body through the use of standing postures and abdominal exercises, but all poses are adaptable depending on your body’s individual needs on that day. This is balanced with the inclusion of both pranayama (breathing practices) and savasana (final relaxation pose) that have a quiet quality to them.
This retreat will take place in an old Quaker meeting house with adjoining private woodland near the southern tip of Lake Windemere that's located in Lake District, England. It is located around 30 minutes' drive from the M6 and trains are available to nearby Grange over Sands and Ulverston.
You will be served daily meals. There will be dinner upon arrival, 3 meals on Saturday, and brunch on Sunday. Just because this retreat is offered at a low price, it doesn't mean that the food won't be good. Cowdance only serves food that has been cooked from scratch using fresh ingredients. Nothing will be processed and food will be nutritious and wholesome. Guests will be asked to assist with the cooking where needed. If you have dietary needs, they can be catered for where possible, so please do not hesitate to get in touch and Cowdance will try their best to accommodate you.
