The Rajasthani tents are perfect for couples, with double bed and private bathroom. The yurts and tipi tents are perfect for a group of friends and can accommodate maximum four adults with one double bed, two single beds, basic hand wash facilities, and shared toilets and showers.
Each tent has a private terrace with comfortable chairs, they are all raised up onto platforms of either wood or slate, maintaining a clean and insect free zone. All tents and tipis have electric lighting and sockets. There are rails to hang your clothes, side tables, and mirrors. The interior decoration is stylish yet simple.
Each tent is different and has been individually tailored with spectacular patterned Indian linings. Most of the furniture has been handmade using wood or other natural materials from the land or locally. All of the rooms have a thick mattress, sheets, duvets, and pillows. Towels and fresh laundry are also provided.
Inspired by Catarina´s last teacher training in Goa of Mandala and Shamanism, the retreat is going to be on the basic four elements, fire, water, earth, and air. According to the Mayan Calendar, each day represents element, so you will be starting your retreat on a fire day and finishing with water. Your yoga practice will be based on the element of the day, synchronising yourselves with the rhythms of the universe.
Mandala Vinyasa routines are based on asanas and structure of the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa, warm up, standing, seated, and closing. Instead of using a linear pattern, Mandala Vinyasa integrates the spiral patterns that nature uses, exploring circular movements with the bodies and in space, moving 360 degree around the mat.
Rocket is a style of yoga developed by Larry Schultz in San Francisco during the 1980s. The routines are also based on poses of the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa primary and intermediate series but breaking them down into moves that are more accessible to beginners. This vibrant routine is called the rocket because, it gets you there faster. The Rocket is designed to wake up the nervous system and feed it the precious prana, it craves while promoting a spirit of change and freedom in the practice.
An introspective practice and a slow-paced style of yoga where you hold postures for longer periods of time, so that moderate stress is applied to the connective tissue, tendons, fascia, and ligaments, with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improve flexibility. Every single pose is held between three to five minutes but is on the rebound counter-postures when the Yin happens and emotions, tension, blocks, tightness, and resistance are released. Yin challenges the mind cultivating stillness and awareness, is a great preparation for meditation and open is for all levels, either you are an experienced yogi, or a beginner.
Yoga Alliance RYT 200 (Ashtanga Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Rocket Yoga)
Inspired by the philosophies and life system ideals of Buddhism and yoga, Catarina finds herself in the journey of self-discovery and sees herself as an eternal student. Based in the Ashtanga Vinyasa, her classes are dynamic, with continuous movement and the routines are structured in a way that allows modifications to push yourself a little further in a safe place. She is qualified as a yoga teacher in December 2015, after completing a 200 hours Ashtanga Vinyasa and Rocket yoga teacher training. Since then, she started teaching but she still keeps up with her teacher trainings.
This retreat will take place in Aterra, Portugal. Aterra is an ecological campsite on the southwest coast of Alentejo, Portugal, that can offer you this and more: a peaceful site in a valley surrounded by woodlands, fruit trees, and grasslands, offering guests a unique glamping experience beside a large freshwater lake. Only 90 minutes driving from Faro airport and just six kilometers from the seaside, you can explore an array of wild and wonderful beaches close by, surf the waves of this renowned coastline or kayak or paddle the Mira and Odeceixe rivers.
Breakfasts, lunches, and dinners are provided daily which are mainly vegetarian. The nutritious meals are carefully prepared by a chef on site, using vegetables and fruits grown in the local farm and with homemade products when possible. Fruits and snacks will be available through the day. If you have any dietary requirements, please let Cat Loves Yoga know in advance and they will make sure that your needs are covered.

Please book your flight to arrive at Faro Airport (FAO). Transfers from Faro Airport to the venue take around 90 mins and can be arranged in groups if booked in advance.
