Life is movement. No matter how small or slow, this constant and continuous vibration is present in every cell that forms part of nature. The simple act of breathing generates a visible movement in all of the people, however, there are often many other suppressed internal movements that need to be continuously observed and liberated. You will work in a unique way combining three distinct disciplines that share the same essence and principles; yoga, meditative dance, and hiking.
You will be accommodated in a shared dormitory (maximum of 6 people), double, or single room. Double room is only available if two people come together (relatives, couples, friends, etc.)
The retreat starts on Sunday at 19:00 with a dinner followed by the opening and introduction of the retreat. Participants can arrive from 16:00 to set in. The retreat finishes on the next Saturday at 12:00 after a brunch.
Give your body the opportunity to regain its natural balance through conscious and meditative movement surrounded by stunning nature. Practice a Dynamic meditation in which you develop your ability to listen to in a holistic way; listening to with real sensitivity and opening all of your senses and the pores of your skin, paying attention to yourself, those around you, and the environment.
"The focus of Kashmir Yoga is on the art of coping with life itself, on creating integration in our lives and letting life resonate in the Silence. It does not require us to change or transform our way of life or attitude." - Eric Baret
This form of yoga comes from Tantric non-dualist Kashmir Shaivism according to the teaching of Jean Klein. In this practice, the asanas are special moments in which you will sense the tranquility that lies at the heart of all life. The time between the asana practice is dedicated to meditation allowing you space to familiarize yourself with your body's natural absorption and vibrational state that arises unexpectedly during these moments.
You will explore the body just as it is in each moment, any areas where you feel emptiness, tension, or reaction. Without trying to change, improve, or relax your body, instead, you are allowing the truth of the present moment to be as it is. You are welcoming everything without commentary or judgment and allowing deep listening to become the guiding principle without expecting anything in return.
Body weather is a whole movement practice which helps you develop mindfulness and cultivate a connection between body-mind-environment. It can also be understood as a dynamic meditation practice in which you will develop your ability to listen to in a holistic way. You will be listening to with real sensitivity and opening all of your senses and the pores of your skin, paying attention to yourself, those around you, and the environment.
The main objectives of this practice are:
During the retreat, you will carry out a series of improvisation exercises that will allow you to open your body and give it space and tranquility. You will also practice Katsugen Undo, a Japanese technique of body movement that consists of paying attention to the spontaneous movement of your body.
During the meditative walks, you will connect with your internal nature as well as with your external surroundings, allowing your perception of nature to flow through all your senses, including those you may not even be aware of. Those are perceptions and sensations flowing from inside to outside and vice versa.
Your breath and its modifications, sensations and bodily reactions, the organic movement that the body creates, and the perception of the environment through all of your senses are some of the elements that allow you to re-learn to walk, experiencing the integration of the body, mind, and all life.
Walking in silence, you can find a natural state of calmness and harmony within yourself and with everything around you. In this state, your mind can experience a deep sense of rest. The origin of this practice can be found in the teachings of the Buddha. Nowadays this practice is studied by many dancers, scientists, and meditators.
Notes: This is just a sample schedule that may vary depending on the weather, the group, etc. During the meditative hikes or walks, there will be Body Weather sessions in nature. Dance sessions will take place in the yoga hall and in nature.
