The main building includes a large open living space and seating area, a bar, a barbecue grill, a sound system, free Wi-Fi, and a fully equipped kitchen. The swimming pool measures more than 1200 square feet. It can be used 24 hours a day and is attractively illuminated at night. People tend to focus on things that matter least and forgot about all the real things, the ones that make them feel happy at peace and confident. During this retreat, you will be going to share, to live, and to learn from yourself and others. Beginners, intermediate, and advanced yogis are welcome. Classes will be made in such a way that everyone can find pleasure in it. Each participant will be supported to perform the exercises accurately, receiving the full attention of the yoga instructor which is why classes are limited. Advanced learners will be encouraged and corrected while holding longer poses (asanas) and beginners will receive a gentle introduction. Please inform CaribeYoga prior to the arrival of any injuries or surgeries in the past six months, chronic diseases, food allergies, or pregnancy.
You will go to a beautiful beach to spend a moment of tranquility and enjoy nature with a spectacular view.
You will explore the undiscovered treasures of the Samaná Peninsula. The plan is to go on a full-day hike with visiting Boca del Diablo, Playa Frontón, and the rural area around Las Galeras. Starting with a boat in Las Galeras, you will arrive on Playa Fronton after 30 minutes.
There, you will stay for two hours, enjoying the beach and the sea as well as drinking fresh coconut water. Then, you will walk along the unspoiled coastline, discover different fruits and vegetables while hiking along the cultivable land, and get to know the village life in La Guázuma. You will feel all the efforts by experiencing the natural way of the Dominican Republic.
Only three minutes with a boat, you will arrive a small private Island where you will see a beautiful sunset.
The waterfall “Salto El Limon” is located amidst a lush tropical landscape on the peninsula of Samaná, approximately an hour away from Las Galeras. This spectacular waterfall drops 150 feet into a natural, beautiful pool filled with fresh, crystal clear water.
You will reach the top of the waterfall on horseback and then hike downwards through the tropical jungle until you reach the bottom of this roaring cascade where you can enjoy a refreshing swim in the big natural pool.
The bay of Samaná is one the main areas where the humpback whales migrate to in winter. You will go on a guided excursion by boat and watch those giants in the sea in their natural environment. After whale-watching, the trip will continue to the small island of Caya Levantado, also called the “Bacardi Island”.
This island has a white sandy “dream” beach with shallow waters sloping gently into the water. A delicious lunch will be served here. Before returning by boat, you will have time to enjoy this beach or to explore Bacardi Island.
Samaná Ocean View Resort is located on top of a hill near the village of La Guázama and the idyllic fishing town Las Galeras on the Samaná peninsula. This spot is widely recognized as the most beautiful region of the Dominican Republic, primarily due to the thousands of coconut trees and the many pristine beaches. The closest beaches are Playa Grande (the main beach in Las Galeras) and the especially beautiful beach, Playita. Both can be reached within 15 minutes by car or motorbike.
Also, close by is the beach Playa Rincon, a three-mile long, white sandy beach which is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Dominican Republic. From Las Galeras, you can reach it within 25 minutes by car or within 15 minutes by boat. There is also Playa Fronton, a perfect snorkeling spot. This Robinson Crusoe beach with its impressive panorama can be reached with a 30-minute hike by boat or horse (not accessible by car). The small romantic bay with its natural beach Playa Madame is also a within reach either by boat or by horse.
Las Galeras with its small supermarkets, restaurants, and beach huts can be reached within 15 minutes by car. Here, you can drink Dominican rum together with the locals or book a boat trip with the local fishermen. For those who want to discover the beauty of the Samaná Peninsula independently, a rental car would be most suitable. But those who prefer to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere at Samaná Ocean View Resort can easily get around with taxis and so called “Motoconchos” (motorbike taxi) procured for you by the property manager.
The closest airports are Samaná El Catey International Airport (AZS) which is about a one-hour drive and Las Américas International Airport (SDQ) which is about a two and a half-hour drive. The comfortable bungalow complex offers an unforgettable and relaxing stay. The tropical vegetation in and around the area, the tranquility of the site, and the stunning views make you feel as if you are visiting paradise.
This area is one of the most beautiful and originally native places that the Dominican Republic has to offer. You will experience the genuine Caribbean and pure relaxation. Every year, more than 1000 humpback whales migrate from the Polar Regions into the Bay of Samaná for mating season. From mid-December to the end of March, you can observe this great spectacle directly from Samaná Ocean View Resort. There are also regular boat excursions from Las Galeras if you prefer a closer look.
The meals will consist of a hearty breakfast buffet, brunch and sumptuous dinner prepared by a local and authentic chef. They will be a combination of Caribbean and international cuisine and if preferred, vegetarian or vegan. Please inform CaribeYoga of any food allergies or special needs prior to arrival. Tea and water are available free of charge throughout the duration of your stay.
Playa Frontón and Playa Rincón are often named as one of the most beautiful beaches in the Dominican Republic. By boat, you can explore both of them in one day. In the morning, you can go to Playa Frontón, a secluded, palm-lined and remote beach where every dream of a paradise comes true. There, you may snorkel in the shallow water and explore the adjoining coral reef. Later on, you may head to Playa Rincón for even more quality beach time. Miles of white sand and some little shacks who sell you a fresh coconut or a cooled cocktail is what you can expect there. Maybe, CaribeYoga should mention the turquoise water and the stunning scenery as well.
The national park “Los Haitises” can only be reached from the ocean and is considered one of the must-see attractions in the Dominican Republic. It has a surface of 826-square kilometers and offers an unbelievable number of protected animals and plants. The park features a large lagoon “Bahia San Lorenzo”, rivers, mangroves, jungle, and mystical stalactite caverns. This region was already settled or often visited by early Indians called “Tainos” long before the arrival of Christopher Columbus. Rock carvings (petroglyphs) on the walls of many caves in this area are proof of their existence.
In the morning, you leave with a boat from close to Sanchez, going to explore the Los Haitises National Park. Among approximately 120 different bird types, you might catch sight of the “Palm Chat” (Cigua Palmera), the national bird of the Dominican Republic. With some luck, you might also see the very rare Caribbean Manatees (from the family of “Round Tailed Sea Cows”) in the waters or in the surrounding mangroves.
You may take your car (or a transfer) and head to El Valle where you can go on one of the most spectacular zip lines of the country.
