Accommodatie

Blue Indigo yoga retreat center is located 10 minutes away from Siem Reap’s riverside. The center is designed as a spiritual retreat center. The center comprises of comfortable wooden cottages, each 30 sq. m. with a big ceiling fan to keep the atmosphere cool, a mosquito net and a lovely bathroom attached. The cottages are in quiet space with trees and flowers for a lovely atmosphere. Note, this is not ‘5 star Dubai’ type accommodation.

There is also a shared dormitory but they are not mixed. Should you be interested in this room accommodation, please contact Blue Indigo Cottage Retreat Center for the package price.

Blue Indigo Cottage Retreat Center Cambodia Yoga Retreat Program

Your daily program will include yoga and pranayama, meditation, deep relaxation, lectures, one time- temple area sessions, blessing ceremony.

Daily schedule

The exact schedule may vary depending on the season and the teachers we have with us at the time, however, as a guide, the below example is what you can expect during your stay here.

  • 06.00 – 07.30: Pranayama (breathing exercises) and Hatha yoga
  • 07.30 – 08.30: Breakfast
  • 10.00 – 11.00: Meditation / lecture / discussion
  • 11.00 – 12.00: Vinyasa flow yoga
  • 12.00 – 13.00: Lunch
  • 17.00 – 18.00: Flying yoga
  • 18.00 – 19.00: Yin or restorative yoga

Encouraged behavior

A dedicated yoga practice involves respecting a set of ethical principles, which are called yamas and niyamas in the yogic tradition. They help to clear the mind and establish a solid foundation for your daily routine. It is strongly encouraged that you respect those principles as they will also create a balanced group energy during your retreat.

Yamas:

  • Ahimsa: Nonviolence, compassion, and non-harm towards yourself and others.
  • Satya: Truthfulness and honesty through actions, speech, and thoughts
  • Asteya: Non stealing, detaching from covetousness, and cultivating a less materialistic view of life
  • Brahmacharya: Abstinence and moderation in all things and sensual cravings.
  • Aparigraha: Non greed. Attitude of generosity and non-possessiveness.

Niyamas:

  • Saucha: Purity, it is the cleanliness of the body and mind.
  • Santosha: Contentment. Being satisfied with what you have.
  • Tapas: Self-discipline, diligence, and perseverance in your practice.
  • Swadhyaya: Self-study that includes the study of scriptures but also of oneself.
  • Ishvarapranidhana: Surrendering to a higher intelligence. Realization and dedication to the divine presence within all.

Mai is a Hatha, Hatha flow, and Therapeutic yoga teacher. She will be happy to share her knowledge in taking you at deeper level into basic and advanced poses, bringing more awareness into your body and mind. Compassion and trust should be our keywords all along this journey and she is really happy to be a part of it.

Siem Reap is renowned for it's magnificent temples. As the largest religious and spiritual monument known today, the area has a unique culture and vibration, with deep roots in Theravada Buddhism. You will experience that spiritual culture while practicing at the center or in the countryside, under the shade of centenary trees and archeological wonders.

A fusion of Cambodian ingredients and tastes with some French insights. Meals are served in a shaded garden, simple and friendly. Serves essentially Khmer vegetarian meals, with seasonal fruits and vegetables. These meals are perfectly balanced and participate in your physical and spiritual welfare.

On your spare time, you can take bike rides through the following sites:

Angkor temples

A 45 kilometer mountain bike ride to visit the Angkor Wat complex through the less travelled roads. From the south gate of Angkor Thom, you will start an adventure ride on the hidden paths towards secluded temples. You will then continue to reach the majestic west gate of Angkor Thom, followed by the Bayon temple. Explore the fascinating lush rainforest along the way by visiting Preah Khan.

You will immerse into the jungle temple at Tanei and Taproom before returning to the Blue Indigo Retreat yoga center. A sunrise tour is available for the journey above by starting at 05:00 daily. Minimum 6 persons.

Angkor Wat and Bayon

A 25 kilometer mountain bike ride to visit the Angkor Wat complex through the less travelled roads. No traffic! From the south gate of Angkor Thom, you will start an adventure ride on the hidden paths towards secluded temples. You will then continue to reach the majestic west gate of Angkor Thom, followed by the Bayon temple. You will pause in the most beautiful areas to meditate and practice mediation and yoga before returning to Blue Indigo Retreat yoga center.

Countryside

A 25 kilometer ride having a fun time in rural areas by experiencing a genuinely different atmosphere. You will ride among rice fields, vegetable farms, haycock, local markets (testing local delicacies such as fruits and cakes), experience daily village life, and rest in a Buddhist pagoda. You will then continue to the Arthnear pagoda where a twelfth century temple is settled inside (temple pass not required).

The south countryside of Siem Reap

A 40 kilometer mountain bike ride along the Siem Reap river to reach Tonle Sap lake and along the way, you will see the green rice fields, lotus farms, vegetable fields, haycock, local markets (tasting local delicacies), experience daily village life, and rest in a Buddhist pagoda. You will refresh with coconut juice drinks. Then, after crossing a lotus field, you will reach the Tonle Sap and go for a boat tour to see the floating village.

You will then visit the Arthnear pagoda where a twelfth century temple is settled inside (temple pass not required). You will meditate in this magical setting before returning to Blue Indigo Yoga retreat center.
