You will stay in the historic Horse & Hound, or The Franconia Inn your perfect home away from home. The Horse and Hound is a 12-bedroom historic inn that is the perfect setting for your writing getaway and will be completely private to the group.
This English-style property is complete with several warm community rooms and bedrooms with writing desks appointed with tasteful details. The property has open fields, gardens, a bubbling brook, and walking trails offering the opportunity to connect deeply with nature and yourself.
For the retreat in July, you will stay in the historic Horse & Hound Retreat Center with extra annex housing in the Franconia Inn. The inns are located in Franconia, New Hampshire, tucked under the Peaks of the Franconia Mountain Range. The warm historic Franconia Inn is 2 miles away and participants have a housing option at that location, as annex suites with private baths during the busy summer. New friendships will be formed, lasting memories will be made.

Dorothy Holtermann is a best-selling author, public speaker, Birth a Book founder, and retreat book writing and publishing teacher. After her career in law, she became a dedicated yogi and a whole food advocate, and the founder of Nurture Nature Nutrition. Her best-selling book, "Love Food that Loves You Back" propelled her career to new success. She coaches her clients to live life fully nourished and fully expressed. She specializes in working with yoga teachers and wellness coaches to expand their impact and income by writing career-enhancing books.
Jessy Holtermann is an actress, acting teacher, and film producer from Los Angeles. She will teach you how to introduce yourself and your book, answer questions during interviews, as well as prepare you to perform unforgettable book readings. She has been performing and teaching acting in New York City and Los Angeles for over a decade.
Rose’s first teacher was her father, David Goldblatt, who has been teaching yoga since 1976. At 15, she went to a class taught by Patricia Walden, a renowned senior-level Iyengar teacher. After nine years of intensely dedicated to studying and practicing Iyengar yoga, Rose became the youngest person to ever receive an Iyengar teacher certification in the United States. She is now an intermediate junior 2 level teacher of Iyengar yoga. Rose has traveled regularly to India to study directly with the Iyengars, and now nurtures an ever-growing following of devoted students.
Meet Clementina Esposito, Birth a Book's in-house writing professor. Her holistic editing skills have made her a sought-after content collaborator on best-selling books. She is a marvel at helping everyday writers like you create extraordinary words that change the minds and touch the hearts of readers. The retreat will take place in New Hampshire, United States. Horse and Hound is located in Franconia, New Hampshire, tucked under the Peaks of the Franconia Mountain Range. The White Mountains of New Hampshire are blessed with tiny New England towns that are a perfect place to be in the summer or fall. And they are surrounded by mural-like White Mountain vistas, gorgeous rivers, and notably crisp fresh air.
You will be served four breakfasts and lunches, four delicious plant-based dinners, and one welcome three-course dinner with organic wine included in the price. You will eat farm-to-table organic food, including fresh green drinks, daily. Kate Foley, from the famed Cold Mountain Cafe and Kate's Bitchin' Kitchen, makes sure each mouthful is infused with love.
