Surya Vatsa is an RYT 200 Ashtanga yoga teacher from Russia. Born to an Indian father and Russian mother, she was lucky to discover yoga at a very young age. Her first formal yoga class was in 2000 when she fell in love with the practice. Finally, she knew that her life would be dedicated to yoga. At that moment, she began looking at India as her second home. Surya teaches people of different levels. In her classes, she is happy to see both a novice who has no idea about yoga and a strong practitioner, with whom she can share her third series experience.

I spent an enjoyable Month at Nirvana Yoga Shala on my recent TTC. I thought the teaching was excellent, made even better by the amazingly diverse group of students that were there. The standard of accomadation was excellent, the rooms clean and fresh with bedding and towels changed regularly. The staff were friendly and helpful and always smiling. The area of Mysore that the school is located in is a tranquil paradise, with many local restaurants to chose from if you fancy a change from the meals served in the school. The month I spent in Nirvana has definitely taken my practise to the next level!

I just want to say... I have wonderful pranayama and meditation in this school... Wonderful teachers and Wonderful Manager.
I spent a week at Mystic School and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. I did both styles, Iyengar and Ashtanga. Both teachers are friendly and very experienced with students of all levels. The classes were fairly small, around two to eight people for each session which is great because you get hands on adjustment from the teachers. The afternoon classes are fairly empty so if you're not familiar with Ashtanga yoga you can give them a go. I was the only one there for one of the classes; a private session - can't ask for more than that. Prices are a little high though at Rs. 500 per session. Accommodation is basic but clean and modern, and everything works as it should. Wi-Fi is fast and free everyday. There's a rooftop common area with a spa and hammock but I never saw anyone using this area. Gokulam is a cool place to stay too, plenty of great cafes and restaurants.

Just finished my 200 hour Ashtanga teacher training at mystic school and had an amazing time! Classes with small groups and can see the improvement every week. As a part of TTC we also had pranayama, meditation, anatomy, philosophy and Ayurveda classes which gave me a much deeper understanding of what yoga really is. Highly recommend this TTC. The owner Shashi was super helpful during my stay and definitely became a good friend, I'm grateful for spending Christmas with this new group of friends. :)
