"Niru Yoga Homestay" is fantastic yoga retreat in a beautiful village located 45 minutes from Kathmandu airport. Accommodation includes: very spacious bright twin room with plenty of natural light with 2 single beds, table, wardrobe and private large shower room with WC. There is a large kitchen/dining room where you will be served with fresh vegetarian breakfast, lunch and dinner (included in the retreat price). You will spend your nights at Yoga Home Nepal. At the homestay, you will find a yoga hall, meditation area, supply of hot water in the rooms, nutritious traditionally prepared food, Wi-Fi, several fruit trees, and a backyard garden. The homestay will serve you in any way possible.

The venue also has a beautiful garden, green mountain view, and is located near a jungle and waterfall. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with an attached bathroom.

Program

  • Day 1: check into Niru yoga Homestay with the yoga retreat center. Lunch, tea and rest. There will be an evening yoga class before dinner after dinner tea and rest.
  • Day 2: start your day with a cup of herbal Ayurveda tea, jalneti (nasal cleaning), morning yoga class, breakfast, hiking from hiking (2 to 4 hour). You will have your lunch in home. There will be an evening yoga before dinner, tea and chanting with fire bed time.
  • Day 3: your morning will start will tea, Jalneti and morning yoga class, breakfast before going hiking (2 to 4 hour) lunch tea and rest. Have your tea and evening yoga class, dinner, tea and rest.
  • Day 4: after having your tea, jalneti, morning yoga class, breakfast and tea, you will go for a jungle walk, river walk, and waterfall visit about 3 hours back to Niru Yoga Homestay. Enjoy your lunch, tea and rest. There will be an evening yoga class, dinner, tea, campfire. (for campfire please told family)
  • Day 5: start your day with tea, morning yoga class and breakfast, Bhaktapur City visit (world heritage site) guide by the host. Enjoy your evening tea, yoga class, and dinner, tea and rest.
  • Day 6: your last day starts with tea, Jalneti, morning yoga class, Baidhik Hawan (fire puja) sometimes, breakfast tea and rest and check out.

This retreat will take place in the beautiful village of Nagarkot, Nepal. It is located 22 kilometers northeast of Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM).

Nepal has a unique landscape stretches from the pinnacle of Mount Everest (8848 meters) in the north to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha, in southern Terai where diverse human cultures and natural habitats can be found. It is a matter of pleasure to mention that Nepal is also a home of a countless river, glacial lakes, lakes, and creeks with their common origin in the Himalaya.

As it is located on a high hill, it has a very clean environment with its natural resources and is covered with forests. It is renowned for its spectacular sunrise and sunset view of the Himalaya when the weather is clear.

At the homestay, you can easily go for a walk to the mountains, rivers, and waterfalls, and learn the names of the plants and animals. Discover ayurvedic herbs growing at your feet and learn how to use them. Practice yoga in peaceful and stunning surroundings.

Food

During this retreat, you will be served with three daily meals of freshly cooked vegetarian food that are provided in the dining area overlooking the mountains to the north of the homestay.

The homestay strives to provide nourishing, clean, and tasty vegetarian food. The homestay gets about 75 percent of its foods (depend on the season) directly from the organic farm. The food is prepared in traditional Nepalese fashion with a wood fire on an earthen stove. In the homestay, you can also enjoy all the fruits that are available from the trees.

The kitchen will also accommodate any special dietary needs. If you wish to learn how to make the food at the homestay, you are always welcome to assist in the kitchen. The menu varies daily and typically includes the following:

Breakfast

Ayurvedic herbal tea, porridge with dates and raisins or coconut, bananas, papaya or chickpeas. Other breakfast offerings may include samosa, parantha uppama, and Nepalese breakfast.

Lunch and dinner

Dal (pulses), vegetables (pumpkin, carrot, cauliflower, peas, and spinach), rice, and chapatti (roti).

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM). The airport is just 45 minutes away from Kathmandu City (Thamel). From there you can take either a local bus (from Ratnapark) or hire a car. Upon your request, Yoga Home Nepal can arrange a taxi, a car or a van for you.

Arrival by bus

There are buses from many locations in Kathmandu (Ratnapark or Bagbazar) to Kamalbinayak (Bhaktapur) bus stand and you have to change. Other buses from Kamalbinayak (Bhaktapur) to Kharipati Down Phedi (400 meters from Kharipati Police Stand).

From Kathmandu (Thamel) by local bus

1. Bagbajar (Bhaktapur Bus park) it's nearby Thamel around 25 minutes walk

2. Ask "Kamalbinayak Bus"

3. Go to Kamalbinayak (bus fair 25 INR)

4. When you are in Kamalbinayak ask Nagarkot Bus Park (its 2 minutes walk)

5. Ask "Telkot" Bus

6. From Kamalbinayak to Kharipati 4 kilometers (400 meters far from the Police Office) bus charge 15 INR

7. When you are in Kharipati Ask anybody Yoga Homestay (2 minutes walk)

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 15% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid on arrival.
