September in the Cotswolds means harvest. The produce is at its best and you can find a lot of amazing country pub fare. The charming area is awaiting with the morning mist sprinkled on its orchards.

Glencoe, in Scotland, is a favorite spot among outdoor enthusiast. Come September, the wet season makes the waterfalls rumble. A mix of hiking trails and peaks with great vistas add to the charm of the area.

If you are heading to the UK to practice yoga, you are spoilt for choice. There are plenty of yoga retreats in the UK to choose from but you can also attend classes in one of the many yoga studious available in the country.

September marks the start of the meteorological autumn, so the weather is pretty much anyone’s guess. It can be warm and dry, but it can also be wet and cold. Layers and waterproof jackets won’t fail you.

The average temperature is 14.3C in London, 12.9C in Edinburgh, and 15.5C in Cardiff.

Beach Time and Yoga in Spain

Ibiza and Formentera are perfect places to explore in September. It’s still hot (very hot!) but the crowds are (mostly) gone and you can snatch a spot on the beach and a seat in the restaurant. The accommodation suddenly becomes more affordable, too.

Valencia is another good choice. It still feels like summer, but without the crowds. Swimming and sunbathing are still possible, too.

If you avoided Madrid during the peak summertime because of the heat, September brings acceptable temperatures, quite a lot of crowds, and prices to boot. Make sure to book in advance. Pleasant nights and virtually no rainfall complete the idyllic picture.

And although rainfall may make an appearance in Barcelona, the city is in full party mode in September: Fiesta de la Mercè. Enjoy street food, parties, and parades!

Should you plan to go on a yoga retreat in Spain, there are a lot of them to choose from. You can even mix exciting activities, such as surfing and kite-surfing, with your yoga vacation. Or you can go to one of the many studios to attend classes.

The Iberian Peninsula is quite large which means the weather will have local influences. But throughout the country the temperature is high. The islands will guarantee sunshine most of the time.

The average temperature is 21.1C in Barcelona, 20.2C In Madrid, and 23C in Ibiza.

Fun in the Sun and Yoga in Greece

The shoulder season (which includes September) is the best choice for visiting the Greek islands. Head to Corfu to enjoy a warm Ionian Sea (yup, by now it’s just perfect for a dip) for your morning dip.

If you avoided the Cyclades during the summer, then you should head to Santorini in September. The crowds are (mostly) gone, the sea is warm, and the sunsets very beautiful.

Peak summer can be scorching hot in Athens. September is still warm, with crowds, and prices to boot, but the summer activities aren’t going anywhere yet. You can combine 2-3 days in Athens with about the same time on one of the islands and enjoy the best of what Greece has to offer.

Looking for a yoga retreat in Greece? Choose one of the Cycladic islands and enjoy classes with a view or on the beach. If you prefer the city, Athens has quite a lot of choices of yoga studios.

Due to its position and geography, Greece is a pleasure to visit in September. It still feels like summer still, so don’t forget the sunscreen! If you are heading for the mountains on the mainland, do expect some rainfall.

The average temperature is 24.2C in Athens, 22.7C in Corfu, and 22.8 C in Santorini.
