After living for long periods immersed in the magic of Ubud, Bali, I have spent a considerable amount of time in the following treasures, places to retreat to, to be nourished and to be inspired by.
Here's a list of 6 places of inspiration to go on a yoga retreat in Ubud, practice yoga and pamper yourself:
Tjampuhan Spa

This true gem is positioned at the base of a lush green valley meters away from the river flow. The spa is composed of several semi-open treatment pavilions and an incredible hot/cold spring water jacuzzi which has been created within a mythical stone cavern embellished by ornate wood carvings. Tjampuhan Spa is a true slice of tranquility.
Bambu Indah Boutique Hotel

Bambu Indah is a true retreat to find peace and tranquility. A luxury boutique hotel set on the banks of the Sayan ridge, it has a restaurant serving local and organic food, with its own organic garden. It consists of eleven bridal homes that were brought over from Java and ornately restored in intricate detail. Even if you were not staying or dining here, it's majestic and creatively designed bamboo structures are worth taking the time to stroll around in and get super inspired.
Make sure you climb the ladder up the bamboo treehouse.
Cantika Zest Spa - Best Facials/Massages

There’s a plethora of spas and wellness centers to be discovered in Ubud, but Cantika Zest in Penestanan stands out to me as one of the best. Its ambiance and green lush jungle setting, whilst you are getting nourished through their different range of treatments on offer, is incredibly rejuvenating. Hands down the best place to get a nourishing one-hour facial, using natural eco-friendly organic products.
Soma Cafe

I love the connections made here, the music, the conversation, pure joy, and love. Soma Cafe has an eclectic menu infused with love. There are so many interesting options to eat and drink that it's hard to pick just one. Raw, vegan, tons of juices, coconuts, and so on.
Hint: you can't really go wrong with any order.
Yellow Flower Cafe

I always find myself somehow mysteriously drawn back time and time again to this cafe. Yellow Flower Cafe is a rare and peaceful gem situated in the watery and mystical alleyways of Penestanan. And if you’re lucky, on a clear bright day your eyes will be presented with the breathtaking views of the majestic Agung mountain.
But the reason why I come back here, again and again, is the energy smoothie - a thick (so thick you have to eat it with a spoon) blend of banana, flax, cacao, dates, and coconut. Packed full of energy, it's a complete meal.
You have to try it!
Ecstatic Dance Yoga Barn
I love dancing. I love to be moved by music. Ever since I first lived in Bali I have come here religiously and danced and danced to some incredible music played by very talented DJs. Every Friday night and Sunday morning be prepared to dance it out, get wild, fierce, sweaty and free.
