    Florence House is set in six acres within an area of outstanding natural beauty on the edge of the South Downs National Park with views of Seaford Head and two minutes from the beach. The beautiful interior of the house itself, the abundant gardens, the proximity to the sea, and the wildness of the Downs, make Florence House ideal for retreats and workshops involving personal development and transformation.

    Your six-day detox program starts every day with warm lemon ginger water and a small snack to take you into your hour and a half of peaceful yet energizing Qigong class with Micha. Weather dependent, these sessions will take place indoors or in the beautiful gardens.


    There will be three workshops to help you acquire new skills and to arm you with invaluable knowledge to take back home with you. These will combine nutritional advice and practical cookery lessons and demonstrations. You will be making your own sushi rolls, protein-filled dips, nut milks, and guilt-free energizing treats.

    On the brow of Seaford Head, Sussex, sits Florence House, rock solid in the sea air and surrounding wild landscape. In many ways, its situation is a metaphor for its life’s purpose - a haven for the spirit however the wind blows.

    The meals served during this retreat are all gluten, dairy, wheat, and sugar free and vegan and are surprisingly filling, with nutrient-dense smoothies and juices, raw salads, pulses, and soups, as well as some additional snacks and nutritional supplements. Nathalie prepares each meal and snack from scratch with the best ingredients and with each person’s needs in mind.

    Breakfast will consist of delicious (and detoxing) smoothies and juices. Lunch is your main meal with plenty of raw and lightly cooked pulses and salads with delicious dips, crudités, flour-free crackers. Dinner consists of a light soup.

    There will be plenty of free time for you to either relax in the beautiful grounds or walk by the sea or by incredibly scenic and wild Seaford Head. Or take advantage of the activities on offer.

    Chef shadowing

    Follow Nathalie, nutritional therapist and chef, while she cooks gorgeous, raw, and lightly cooked delights. Nathalie is keen to share her knowledge, skills, and recipes and get you involved in some of the cooking too! What better way to learn to recreate the healthy glow you will feel when you return home.

    Nutritional consultation

    Nutritional consultations and food intolerance tests will be available (at an extra cost) for those who want tailored programs and individual advice. The test is non-invasive and Nathalie will not use hair, blood, or stool samples. It is painless and is best described as a ballpoint pen touching the tip of your finger.

    Essential to a relaxing and detoxing program, you will be able to book a luxurious pampering treatment at an extra cost. Massage from full body massage to reflexology, Indian head massage or infrared massage, with Ayurvedic oils to match your constitution are available. You are sure to find something to relax and support you in your quest for rejuvenation.

    Driving directions from Worthing / Brighton

    • Follow signs to Newhaven / Lewes.
    • At roundabout after the rail crossing, you have a choice between Lewes and Newhaven. Take A26 to Newhaven / Seaford.
    • Alternatively, follow the coast road A259 from Brighton to Newhaven. In Newhaven, follow sign to the left for Seaford A259.
    • Carry on the A259 until you reach Seaford and a mini roundabout with the train station on your right hand side.
    • Stay on the A259 going out of town in the direction of Eastbourne.
    • Look out for a church almost immediately on your right hand side and take the third turning on your right after the church, this is Southdown Road.
    • Helpful markers to look out for at this junction are: a traffic light, red postbox, and red phone box.
    • Stay on Southdown Road and go straight down the hill towards Seaford Head and the golf course, crossing over a couple of streets.
    • At the bottom of the hill at Southdown Corner, you will see a large grey house on the hill in front of you. This is Florence House. Take the first gate entrance and follow it to the front door.

    Arrival by airplane

    Please book your flight to arrive at Gatwick Airport (LGW).

    Arrival by train

    From Gatwick Airport (LGW), take the train at South Terminal for Lewes and connect to Seaford. The journey time is one hour. There will be taxis at Seaford Station. It will take just five minutes by taxi from the station to Florence House.

    There is also a train service departing from Victoria every 30 minutes. Change train at Lewes and depart for Seaford. The journey takes approximately one hour 20 minutes. There will be taxis at the train station that will take you to Florence House.

    • The deposit is fully refundable if the booking is cancelled up to 2 days before the arrival date.
