The New Day Instituto private villa is situated on a post-volcanic hill on one of the most interesting islands of the Macaronesia - Fuerteventura. The house spans an area of 300 square meters; it is a place made out of love for the ocean, the sun, people, and an incredible space. Beautiful weather all year round, a secluded location far from the bustle of tourist destinations, and the absence of neighbors are some of the greatest advantages of this charming spot.

The villa has a large, private swimming pool available to the guests, a terrace, a dining area, a breathtaking patio, and a garden. The location makes the villa a perfect accommodation all year round, offering peace and quiet, privacy, comfort, and an atmosphere of relaxation in the shadow of the nearby volcano. You can also enjoy the Canary sun in a hammock while reading your favorite book, or celebrate the local cuisine, atmosphere, and folklore in the company of the delicate ocean breeze.

The villa can accommodate ten persons in five rooms: three double rooms with twin beds and two double rooms with a double bed. Two of the rooms have en suite bathrooms, while the other three’s bathrooms are located in the hallway.

The weekly program will consist of a balanced combination of Hatha yoga, mindfulness, and Vinyasa yoga. In the early morning, there will be a yoga class before breakfast. Depending on the participants, the classes will be taught in English or Dutch. In the afternoon, there will be a second yoga class that is designed to restore and revitalize. The lessons taught during this yoga retreat are open to both beginners and experts. There is the possibility to tailor your personal needs and preferences during the stay with the teacher.

Yoga practice

During this retreat, you will practice yoga asanas to improve your posture and become more flexible and stronger, breathing exercises to strengthen your immune system and stress releasing, and relaxation exercises to release stress and re-energize.

Mindfulness meditation

Meditation to train your mindfulness, you bring mind and to enter you without judgment of what comes along. Because of this, you will develop include more clarity, inner peace, acceptance, self-knowledge, and a better mood.

Diana Kort

Diana Kort is a Dutch yoga teacher. She will handle the yoga and mindfulness classes during the retreat. She has several years of inspired teaching in and around the city of The Hague, and owns Zenzifit Consultancy, a company devoted to power, motion, and relaxation techniques.

From her passion and love for yoga, she wants to guide you through this wonderful week together. Her classes are suitable for beginners and more advanced students. Even if you've never done yoga, you can join right away!

Fuerteventura - some claim that the name means "the power of happiness", others, drawing inspiration from the French conquistadors, call the place "an intense adventure". For others, it is the island of "strong winds". All these names are correct, since Fuerteventura is an island where all elements meet. Here, the desert winds of the Sahara, the currents of the Atlantic Ocean and the volcanic, fiery soil of the island clash in a majestic display of natural power.

Over 150 kilometers of sandy dunes and beaches surrounding the island, crystal-clear waters, turquoise picturesque bays, and charming towns - all these make Fuerteventura the perfect place to rest and relax for lovers of sunbathing and water sports, explorers of local flavors and traditions, and those looking for pristine nature, protected in the UNESCO biosphere reserve. The island has a dry climate - it is only 100 kilometers away from the coast of Africa, and the characteristic terrain guarantees sunny weather practically all year round.

During the retreat, you will enjoy half board meals that include breakfast and dinner. The cuisine is vegetarian and is cooked by local chefs from fresh, local produce. You will also have access to unlimited water, coffee, tea, and fresh fruit.

Be a beach bum

The Jandia beaches have white sands and turquoise waters; they are situated in the southern part of the island and offer visitors’ kilometers of crystal-clear waters. There are few tourists around. La Concha in el Cotillo reef is an enclosed water reservoir with a natural reef. It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, with fine white sand and small waves.

Explore the wonderful Lobos Island

Lobos Island is a secluded spot full of peace and serenity. This adventure park, once inhabited only by seals and sea lions, is currently a genuine place of escape, where you can put all your daily stresses behind. At Lobos, you will discover plants and animals that cannot be found elsewhere.

Keep the adventures alive

The Corralejo adventure park is comprised of nine kilometers of large beaches and small bays. The desert-like appearance of this space makes it hard to believe that one of the most paradisiac beaches on these islands can be found right at the end of the dunes. This is a protected area; it has nine kilometers of coast lines, from the small bays that offer seclusion in the sun to large beaches that never seem to end.

Take beautiful pictures at Betacunria

The island's first town is located on one of the driest parts of the island. It is an archaic town founded in the 15th century with some of the most picturesque buildings on the island. It used to be the capital of Fuerteventura.

Windsurf in paradise

Thanks to the long, sunny days, strong winds, and waves up to two meters tall, the island has been the perfect spot for windsurfing and kitesurfing for many years. These sports have already become a tradition on the island.

    "My experience with Yoga at Diana. Every week, one hour and relaxation has brought me a lot. Besides a terrible agility (which I had not thought possible), the yoga brought me more peace and balance into my life. One that piece of reality steps and you focus on yourself and on the 'nothing'. The lessons are very accessible. It's not about what you can, but pushing your own limits in the exercises through concentration and breathing. By means of meditation exercises at the end of the lesson succeed sometimes to think really get nowhere. In addition, the lessons are just very cozy!"

    "When I started yoga at Diana, it was a feeling of 'coming home'. I learned that yoga is a way of life, a way of life and philosophy: but not one that you learn from a book. You have to practice yoga, you have to think about it, should bags, you have to practice ... although 'need' is not a good description. I would not be more different. The road is ahead, I can not and will not go back to the time before I started! Yoga is short, a perfect way to get closer to yourself in order to penetrate the nucleus where you always have something stuck in the external. Yoga opens your eyes to what you really want, who you want to be and what you want to do and with your life. Take that chance!"

    "Yoga is a gift for yourself! It is a challenge, an experience one floor and, sometimes confrontational but very instructive. It gives wonderful insights, beautiful! You sit in the yoga class in an atmosphere that takes you further. The physical postures (asanas) provide flexibility and space. The exercises are clearly explained, and the meditations at the end of the lesson, do the rest. I had just started earlier!"

    "What yoga has done for me personally? In a sentence, it would be an improvement in my overall well-being. Physically it has given me a healthy, strong body. Coughs blow over, tension headaches and neck pain are gone, my attitude is extremely improved. By yoga. You can feel at a subtle level, what happens in your body, and complaints are quicker to trace and resolve. I have become more sensitive through yoga, but less emotional. Moments happiness are much more intense and more frequent. There happen naturally less beautiful things in life, but the feeling here is become purer. Unpleasant events have less grip, I get not so caught up in trouble. There is a kind of helicopter view emerged, from which I can see my life. No more sleepless nights, worrying at night parking fine somewhere so I can sleep calmly. You also learn during your meditations, to always return to one issue. I became more aware of my role and position in the moment. This awareness makes you better see certain behaviors and can keep away. So you can meet new situations open without judgment, fears, limitations or uncertainty. I remain more to myself and that gives peace. More take time to listen to others, and think before I say anything. But if I really have something to say, here not afraid of. The peace and distance also ensure that you will notice subtle things. Small behavioral changes in people, or feel an atmosphere and thus better anticipate the situation. In other words, my life is more polite, rather than lived. see life as it is, without being immersed in it. If a large alternating happen where I can be a spectator and should learn a lot!"

    "Yoga classes at Diana do me very well. I often have low back pain. Teacher Diana gave tips for exercises and after a very short time the pain was virtually gone. Hatha yoga classes help me to come into balance with myself and feel very good. I am much fitter, more stable and have more confidence! And they are also very fine / spicy classes, with a great atmosphere. Classes are fine and the meditation every time is special again."
