Driving direction from Kahului Airport (OGG)

From the Kahului airport, go past Kmart and turn left on Highway 36- Hana Haighway.

You will be staying on Hana Highway the entire time, around 17 miles.

Go thru the town of Paia. From the stoplight in Paia (on the Hana Highway), it is approximately 14 miles to Door of Faith Road. (You may want to stop in town to pick up groceries at Mana Foods, or get something to eat before you come here the first time.)

Pass the intersection of Hana Highway and highway 365.

After Highway 365, mile markers start over again at zero.

After Highway 365 intersection, continue on and look for mile marker 3.

After mile marker 3, you will see on the left a row of white utility boxes and a sign for Waipio Road. Continue on the highway. Soon after that, you will soon see on the right mile marker 3.5.

The next road on your left (not a chained driveway) is Door of Faith Road (this is the retreat center's road).

On the left of the road, you will see a green bus shelter set back from the road. On your right Mirror Door of Faith, you will see two rows of mailboxes and a phone booth.

Turn left here and continue down the road until paved road ends.

Look for a round mirror on a pole where pavement ends.

Turn left at the mirror and go about a 0,25 mile.

On your right, you will see a wooden sign with the number 100 painted in green.

After number 100 sign, the retreat center is the next driveway on the right.

At the driveway you will see the sign that says “Hale Akua Garden Farm & Launa I’o Eco – Education center”.HAGF plaque

Turn right into the gravel driveway and go straight all the way down to the parking lot.

In the parking lot on your right you will see a green building with “Office” sign.

Come up to the office and look at the bulletin board at the entrance on your right for instructions on how to reach the manager or find instructions for your group.

Arrival by airplane

Please book you flight to arrive at Kahului Airport (OGG), Maui, Hawaii. Airport pickup on Wednesday between 1 and 5 pm and return to airport on Monday after 11 am (or later as needed).

  • Review by Richard Castaldi

"As a professor, I can deeply appreciate your dedication and concern for your students. As a yoga beginner, I found your teaching style very comfortable and motivating. The yoga program that you designed is perfect in meeting (actually exceeding) my original yoga goals. My body is more relaxed and limber and I have noticably more energy. More importantly, you have given me tools that I expect to use and benefit from the rest of my life. I heartily recommend your yoga teaching to my friends and work colleagues."

  • Review by May Ochi

"My arthritis came back with a vengeance after a gall bladder operation. My shoulders, arms, collarbone and neck were so painful I couldnt get out of bed. I had to do something. Working individually with Ms. Summers once a week for two months has really helped me. It seems to have loosened up my shoulders. It taught me to be more relaxed. Now I know how to start getting relaxed. This was really a godsend. It was fun, too!"

  • Review by Lolly Lewis

"I'm always busy, and my schedule is erratic, so I wanted to create a practice that I could use when I could find the time, wherever I was. Dawn was perfectly responsive to my needs: I don't feel pressured to do more than I can right now, but there's always support for me to learn. I come away from my lessons energized!"

  • Review by Nancy Iverson

"Nancy found the exercises she learned from Ms. Summers helped her work through a spinal disc injury that made walking extremely painful. Primarily from yoga, she completely regained her pain-free functioning. She began yoga after unsuccessful results from physical therapy and chiropractic to resolve the injury. She continues to come for a yoga lesson when her life becomes stressful. In her professional practice, Iverson routinely refer teenagers with musculo-skeletal problems for yoga therapy. "I would love them to learn good patterns early on, rather than to have to unlearn bad ones at age 40," she says."

  • Review by Anaya Adair

"The New Dawn Yoga Therapy approach is physically enjoyable and can also help advanced yoga students refine their practice. "I’m impressed by Dawn’s approach, which is gentle and different for each person," says Anaya Adair, a yoga instructor herself. "After working with her on my cobra pose, I began to feel the notion of an integrated back. I’ve left her classes feeling very energized and peaceful and good, and I didn’t have to stand on my head.""

  • Review by a traveler

"I recommend these classes to people like my parents--who have never had any yoga experience-- to learn how to do it right the first time and to those with experience who wish to deepen their yoga practice."
