Bala Brook has a fantastic recently refurbished and extended yoga room (with underfloor heating), a large kitchen-diner/conservatory area, library and common sitting areas. Accommodation is simple, comfortable and warm if necessary. Retreat prices reflect the standards.

There is a very large garden with fantastic trees and the brook flowing through. There is a little waterfall at the top of the garden. It is easy to walk directly out onto the moor from several directions or to take lowland wooded walks.

Rooms

Rooms vary from single rooms with an en-suite bathroom to simpler rooms with shared bathroom arrangements. There are no separate prices for the standard of rooms, except a couple of smaller single rooms which are the price of a shared room.

All the rooms are of a decent standard but the larger ensuite rooms will go on a first-come-first-served basis. Some of the shared rooms are large and ensuite. There is enough room for ten people to have single rooms and up to four rooms can share.

Yoga classes

As an experienced teacher of 25 years, Neville can accommodate most levels of experience from beginners through to teachers. If you are a complete beginner, try at least some classes before you come on a course like this. If you have significant health issues or body limitations then please talk to him; most things can be worked with, but not everything.

Included excursions

Guided walks

There is a range of possibilities from half an hour up to 2-3 hours either on high moorland, low woodland or up to a nearby reservoir. The walks will be led some afternoons by Neville or his assistant. They are not outdoor leaders but will be happy to take people out. Or, you can just strike out with a map if you know the moor or have experience hill walking. Either way, bring your boots if you fancy this. In warm weather wild swimming in one of Dartmoor's pools may be possible.
