You will be staying at Nepal Yoga Home situated at the lap of the Nagarjun Jungle at Kathmandu, Nepal. Surrounded by mountains and jungles, you will enjoy beautiful views of Kathmandu. This two-week stress management yoga retreat course will come under the guidance of experienced yogis at Nepal Yoga Home. They will help / assist you to manage your stress by finding your authentic source of being. They will also help you to uplift your stressful life and bring you peace. Daily training will be focusing on the stillness of mind that will teach you how to consciously quiet your mind whenever you feel overwhelmed. While through meditation, it will help you to get in touch with your inner being; this means less dependence on medications, greater self-awareness, and a happier and blissful life.

    PROS Pros: the YTT was amazing and I would recommend anyone to attend their teacher training here. It is very much jam=packed for a schedule, and you learn quite a bit in such a short period of time. If you are willing to learn, you will be very good at teaching. That is the heart of yoga. The food was very good and very nutritious, we were always well rounded after a good series of vinyasas. My teacher training from the gurus were A+

    PROS Pros: Staying at nepal yoga home for 3 weeks for 200 hrs yttc was the best experience in my life..The family is wonderful, so kind, loving and treat you as one of the family. The teachers are so knowledgable, helpful and always ready to answer any questions, I had the chance to understand and experience the spiritual aspect of yoga.     Life transforming experience

    PROS Pros: Nepal yoga home was one of the best choices i have made in my life. Prakash and his lovely wife Sweeta along with Shanti and Thritha made our stay incredibly warm, family like, very comfortable and lovely. Food was the best, organic and fresh and more than enough. Accommodation is simple but beautiful and clean. Nepal yoga home has a perfect location for practicing yoga and meditation as it is settled in a green enviroment with amazing fresh air and beautiful mountain views. Thamel is easily reachable by bus or taxi or even walk is possible. Close by is also Osho Tapoban with beautiful organic restaurant and surroundings. Newly renovated yoga hall is perfect for the practise. Morning Yoga classes with Prakash were amazing, great quality with emphasis on allingment, breathing, benefits and sequencing, I would say best yoga classes i have ever attended. Meditation classes with dr.Raj are absolutely mindblowing and Vinyasa classes with Navin helped me to built a lot of strength and under his careful guidance ability to perform very advanced postures i wasnt able to do before. Yoga philosophy was life changing and transforming experience. I am blessed to be part of the yoga teacher training program in Nepal Yoga Home and I definitely recommend to everyone this awesome experience, if for yoga teacher training, or for retreat.

    Waste of time

    CONS Cons: Poor accomodation. Rooms vary in quality. Some in an outside building are very mouldy. Others are not very clean or aesthetically pleasing. Expect to share a bathroom with other guests. Bathroom setup isn't good for sharing and there is almost never toilet paper. Rooms have mosquitos and no mosquito nets. There are other bugs also, but this is probably unavoidable. Food is not substantial. You will go hungry unless you buy snacks outside or like to eat a lot of plain white rice or cheap white bread. A meal is often just a cheap vegetable (mostly cabbage, cauliflower or potato) and rice or bread. The "yoga hall' was under construction. Sometimes this construction was done during classes, then the hall became unusable and asana classes were changed to pranayama classes or done in the small living room. There was not enough space to move properly and the floors were littered with food and ants. The yoga itself was also bad. The owner/teacher doesn't know how to teach at all. Bad instructions and no attention to alignment or personal limitations. He probably doesn't even know your name. There was a retreat, 200hr YTT and 500hr YTT running at the same time. None of it was being conducted properly. There is no way these courses should be Yoga Alliance certified. Students weren't given the requisite hours and the content of classes was irrelevant, poorly explained or repetitive. I truly wish that others had written more critical reviews of this place so I hadn't wasted my time.

    PROS Pros: The owner and family are very warm and friendly, but unfortunately this doesn't make up for the fact that they have no ability to run a business. There is a nice view of the city from the front garden.

    Increible experience! More than you could of imagined!

    PROS Pros: I don't even know where to start! The classes are incredible. You learn yoga postures, breathing, meditation, philosophy just to name a few! All the teachers are so knowledgable, approachable and have such a positive energy radiating from them. You gain such a deeper understand of yoga and most importantly yourself. You see the results you want and you accomplish things you never thought you could. You feel so welcomed and loved from moment one. It's one big happy family and they constantly make it clear that this is also your home and can ask for anything. In a beautiful area just out of Thamel away from the hectic city life you're placed in a tranquil paradise. The food absolute delicious! The rooms spacious and clean with great hot showers! You get to go on your journey with so many great like minded people and it's just such a loving warm environment that you don't want to leave. You want to learn more! The days are perfectly balanced in terms of the classes with so much packed into a day while getting more than enough rest time in between! A beautiful spiritual journey thanks to the amazing people that run the Nepal yoga home! Beautiful souls xox

    CONS Cons: I brought my own nuts, as well as a jar of almond butter, to supplement the meals, as there was very little protein.

    PROS Pros: The mindfulness education was better than anything in the West. For the first time I was able to meditate for over an hour. The host family was incredibly warm and caring. Class schedule was conducive to learning. The instructors are amazing!!!!

    PROS Pros: The Nepal yoga home was a great experience. The place is suituated in front of a jungle, which means that you hear exotic birds all day and you have beautiful views! Prakash, his wife Shweta and his whole family welcomed me like I was a family member. The classes were beneficial and very relaxing, all the teachers are extremely knowledgable and explain all the yoga positions in great depth, our whole group leant a lot about yoga as well how to meditate properly. I won't forget this experience, thank you Prakash for being a great teacher!

    "I expected to leave Nepal Yoga Home with a teaching certificate and a fitter body. I didn't expect what i got which was so much more. I left the Nepal Yoga Home with a calmer mind more knowledge about Yoga philosophy ayurveda science. Prakash is a very wise man who will teach you all the yoga philosophy asanas detox as well as so much of his knowledge that he has acquired out of years of learning and experience. He also taught bandhas as well as very nice mantras while he lead meditation. He is very passionate about bring out good yoga teachers into the world."

    "On a range from 1 to 10 I'd definetly rate my stay at the Nepal Yoga Home with a perfect 10. The family was sooo nice annd I now feel like I have a second family in Nepal. I wil definetly come back and visit them again. The course was great with very skilled teachers and a systematic approach on the taught content. The accomodation was amazing with the view on Langtang massive and the beautiful house. The food was a 20/10 ... next time I come back I have to learn how to cook like that. It was an amazing experience and I one of the best choices I have made so far. "

    "One thing first: The family is extremely nice which makes it a little hard to write a bad review, but the Yoga is disappointing and the place really needs better maintenance. Prakash, the yogi, is keen on making you go explore the city so he can skip the classes. I booked a one week retreat with yoga everyday but he wanted Sunday off. When I insisted on having at least one or two of the 5 classes which were planned and paid for that day, he was really annoyed and rushed me through the lesson. Afternoon class was then one kind of sun salutation over and over again for 45 minutes. Some of the other teachers are good, but none of them corrects your poses or even pays attention that you do the asanas the right way. For Prakash it seems like he's annoyed by having to teach every day for several times. I guess it would be better to just offer fewer classes which are actually good quality and thought by a motivated teacher. As for the facilities: The place definitely needs more cleaning and maintenance. The shared bathroom is pretty dirty, especially the toilet. The rug in the yoga hall is loose and the mats are old and dirty as well. 50 USD a day is far too expensive for what you get. I left earlier and spent my last two days in a very nice hotel in Thamel dropping in at classes down there which cost me the same but was way better. "

    "Staying at the Nepal Yoga Home was truly a special and rewarding experience. Prakash and his lovely family went out of their way to make my trip easy and enjoyable, from beginning to end. Prakash was always quick to reply to my emails (even when I emailed him only a few hours before landing in Kathmandu to ask a last-minute question!), and just as eager to advise me on local sightseeing adventures and, of course, my yoga practice. I found the yoga traditional and invigorating; the daily schedule a perfect balance of exercise, mindfulness and downtime; the setting picturesque; my room perfectly comfortable; the food delicious; and, perhaps most importantly, the family welcoming and kind. I learned so much about living mindfully and peacefully during my week-long stay, and sincerely hope to return to my Nepali home in the future."

    "I spend 1 month doing the yoga teacher training programme in February 2016 with Prakash at the family run Nepal yoga home. As the name suggests this is neither a hotel nor a retreat. it is a home. And if you stay, you will not just be a guest in their home, no you will be a part of the family. The facilities are limited. Rooms are simple but clean. Electricity in nepal is scarced, so pack a flashlight and maybe a power bank for your phone. And some warm clothes for the cold evenings/mornings especially in the winter, since they cannot heat up the rooms. During my stay nepal was still under a blockade from India, so gas was very limited. But i learned to take cold showers and I enjoyed sitting in front of the fire as prakash's wife or sister was cooking. WiFi is fairly decent for Nepali standards. Food is delicious and cooked with a lot of love and care. Its simple vegetarian Nepali food, but so good. And sweta and shanti will happily show and explain how to cook it. If you are a bit picky with you food, they will also try to do their best to accommodate your requests. "

    "Classes are spread out through the day, starting at 7am. And takes place in the living room, the garden, the rooftop, the yogahall was being rebuild while i was there. 5-6 lessons a day, will still leave you with lots of free time and self practice time. I was quite lucky only having 2 others on the course, which allows a bit more flexibility. The type of yoga taught is quite traditional. Warming up joints thoroughly before going on to asanas. You will not break a sweat but you will feel your body ache from all the stretching. Asana class is taught twice daily, relaxation and meditation 1-2 classes daily, pranayama 1 class and 1 class on a theoretical aspect: ayuerveda, philosophy, physiology, history etc. Lot of focus on philosophical aspect of yoga and how to incorporate all parts into your daily life. You will feel like a yogi when you leave, a lot lighter and freeer. I can only recommend staying at the Nepal yoga home. The whole family goes above and beyond to make your time special. With sitting in the sun all together eating oranges, advise on life, travel everything, going to the Nepali cinema, cooking classes, lots of talks over dinner etc. It is a home of love and laughter. you will learn so much here and make friends for life."

    "Oh! Nepal yoga home, my home in Nepal. I will try to say it with words, but I find it very difficult because words are not enough to explain how good I felt there, to explain all the beautiful time that I lived, to explain all the learning that I learnt. I did the 200 hours yoga teacher training course and to be honest, it was the best decision I made. It's not only that you learn about yoga, you learn about life, about yourself. You just have to do this experience and you will understand. But if you want to know some details... here we go."

    "The food is just delicious. Vegetarian meals cooked in the day with organic vegetables, very healthy! It really helped me to change my diet and I feel so good now. The place is beautiful. An amazing landscape of Kathmandu valley, lovely sunrise. The house is so warm that you feel always at home! The room is very comfortable and super clean. Every day they clean it up. The teachers are incredible persons! All of them take care of you and make you really enjoy every class.     "I was at the Nepal Yoga Home for four days and three nights after a 3 week trip through Nepal and right before I went back home. A really good decision, it was great to end my trip this way. The people were really nice and friendly, great teachers and a full program so you really get good value for your money. It was a very nice combination of yoga, meditation, breathing and theory about chakras etc. And if you want you can skip a class and go hiking in the area. The food also was great. I really enjoyed focusing on myself, my health, my body, my mind.. Thank you so much!!"

    "It is a very nice place owned by a very friendly family. We stayed for 10 days practicing yoga, meditation and discussing life philosophy. We were treated as if we are the members of the family and everyone have been so helpful and supporting in during our stay.     "I met Prakash when he came to teach a morning yoga class at the hotel I was staying in Kathmandu and I liked his style of teaching yoga. So I decided to stay for a couple of days at Nepal yoga home. I had a lovely stay. I enjoyed the asana, pranayama and meditation classes. It was nice to get out of the city and enjoy the fresh air. It is also great to be part of a Nepali family as his brother; sister and cousin live there too. I loved the decoration they have! It was very retro!"
