Accommodation

You will spend two nights in a shared twin room at a retreat center during (pre-trek) and two nights at a tourist standard hotel in Kathmandu (post-trek). You will also spend another two nights in Pokhara during pre- / post-trek. Meanwhile, the accommodation during the trek will be at guest houses, shared with other fellow trekkers.

Program

A yoga-focused trek to the Annapurna base camp will enrich both your body and soul and is recommended for you who want to explore the spiritual heart of Nepal, as well as enjoy its most beautiful and fascinating scenery. This retreat will also allow you to explore all of the extremes in the Annapurna region whilst learning more about the rich Nepalese culture and experiencing the exhilaration of trekking in one of the best and most famous mountain ranges in the world.

The trekking trail you will walk not only passes through traditional Nepalese villages, but you will also come face to face with the country’s native wildlife, such as the blue sheep, black-faced langur monkeys, and rhesus monkeys, before arriving at snow-capped mountains.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m)

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), you will be met by your local agent and transferred to the hotel. Overnight at hotel Kathmandu Suite Home or nearby hotel of similar standard.

Day 2: Yoga retreat and class

In the morning after breakfast a short drive to one of the retreat centers in Kathmandu. Join a full-day yoga class. Overnight at the retreat center (breakfast, lunch, and dinner included).

Day 3: Yoga Retreat and class

Join a full-day yoga retreat and class. Overnight at the retreat center (breakfast, lunch, and dinner included).

Day 4: Drive Kathmandu - Pokhara (827 meters / 6 hours drive)

After breakfast, you will drive to Pokhara (200 kilometers in a private car enjoying the landscapes and Himalayas views). Overnight at hotel Kantipur or nearby hotel of similar standard (breakfast and lunch included).

Day 5: Drive to Dhampus Phedi (1130 meters) and trek to Tolkha (1700 meters / 5 hours)

After breakfast you will drive about 30 minutes to Dhampus Phedi and start your first-day trek with a steep uphill to Dhampus village (1650 meters) passing some farmhouses and rice terraces. After Dhampus village you will trek through meadows to reach Pothana (1890 meters), a small village, and then you will reach Deurali (2100 meters), on the ridge.

From here you will descend to Bhaise Kharka and then finally to Tolkha village through rhododendron forest. Overnight at a lodge / guesthouse (breakfast, lunch, and dinner included).

Day 6: Trek to Chhomorung (2020 meters / 6 hours)

This morning you will descend to Landruk village (1565 meters), a beautiful Gurung village. You will also enjoy the parallel view of Ghandruk village on the other side of the valley.

The trail further descends to Modi Khola and you will reach New Bridge (1340 meters) after crossing the suspension bridge over the river. From here you will ascend to Jhinu Danda (1780 meters) and Chhomorung. Overnight at a lodge / guesthouse (breakfast, lunch, and dinner included).

Day 7: Trek to Dovan (2060 meters / 5 hours)

Today the trail drops down to the Chhomrong Khola and again you will continue climbing to Khuldighar at 2380 meters, and continue walking to Dovan. Overnight at a lodge / guesthouse (breakfast, lunch, and dinner included).

Day 8: Trek to Deurali (3230 meters / 5 hours)

The day begins with the climb through bamboo, then rhododendron forest Himalayan Hotel and on to Hinko at 3020 meters. The accommodation will be in Deurali, on the ridge above Hinko. Overnight at a lodge / guesthouse (breakfast, lunch, and dinner included).

Day 9: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4130 meters / 4 hours)

This morning you will hike up to the open valley crossing the Machapurchhre Base Camp (3700 meters); and as the valley is entirely surrounded by the mountains, the area is known as the Annapurna Sanctuary. When you reach the Annapurna Base Camp (4130 meters), the scenery is even more spectacular. Overnight at a lodge / guesthouse, inclusive of all meals.

Day 10: Explore the valley

In the morning you will enjoy the spectacular view of the Annapurna Himalaya range and after breakfast, you will trek back to Dovan. Overnight at a lodge / guesthouse, inclusive of all meals.

Day 11: Trek to Jhinu Danda (1760 meters / 7 hours)

After a multi-day trek you are more tired; so get relaxed by taking the natural hot spring on the bank of Modi River. Overnight at a lodge / guesthouse (breakfast, lunch, and dinner included).

Day 12: Trek to Birethanti (1065 meters) and drive to Pokhara

After breakfast, enjoy a 3-hour easy downhill walk to Birethanti and Nayapul where the road links to Pokhara. It is simply a 45-minute drive to Pokhara. Overnight at hotel Kantipur or a nearby hotel of a similar standard, inclusive of breakfast.

Day 13: Return to Kathmandu (6 hours)

To experience traveling on a bus, you will travel on a tourist bus (36 seats) enjoying the landscapes while driving. Overnight at Kathmandu Suite Home or nearby hotel of similar standard (breakfast and lunch included).

Day 14: Departure

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.

This trekking and yoga retreat will take place in Kathmandu and the Annapurna region. The Annapurna region, situated in Western Nepal, is a region of extremes in which the driest, wettest, and windiest places in the country can all be found there.

Food

You will enjoy vegetarian meals at the retreat center and also breakfasts at the accommodations in Kathmandu and Pokhara. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner during the trek will be catered as well.
