Become a professional yoga instructor

If your goal is to be a yoga instructor, you'll become very sure with sequencing, guiding principles of breath movement and focusing and complete knowledge of eight limbs of yoga as offered by Maharishi Patanjali through Neo Yoga philosophical class and different kinds of the meditative session.

Ayurvedic living

Neo Yoga considers the practices of Ayurvedic living to be very important and so they must be combined together with yoga to accolade the advantages of yoga. They also have incorporated lots of teachings on the science of Ayurveda. Besides these, they also have Bhajans and music at the time of the Satsang and other inventive self-healing sessions. There will be a few inspirational guest yoga training teachers all through the course, teaching the morning sessions and that will give you a better experience of different styles of teaching.

Opening day starts with puja (fire ceremony). In the afternoon there will be orientation, introduction to each other and other formalities including rules and regulations. Last day before 12-noon certification with prayer and sharing your experience followed by departure.

Assessment and certification

Assessment would be based upon your attendance, your general behaviour, practical and written exam.

Eligibility for participants

300 hours yoga teacher training is a further study for the teachers and for those who want to deepen their practice and had already completed 200 hours of yoga teacher training from any certified yoga school (RYS Yoga Alliance).

Style of yoga

This yoga teacher training is a fusion of different styles with more focus on the Iyengar system of Hatha yoga, Ashtanga vinyasa flow and Sivananda. Iyengar system of teaching gives a holistic approach of how to align your body by using props so you can get the maximum benefit from the poses. Vinyasa flow creates a cycle of energy which can be used for meditation or for self-healing.

What is to be expected?

It is a more intensive training in terms of daily practice, there will be advance yoga Asana and pranayama practice applying three bandhas moola bandha, uddayan bandha, jalandhar bandha. Teachers for this training are very experienced those who have integrated yoga in their daily life.

300-hour yoga teacher training course syllabus

During teachings and practice all the classical yoga Asana would be taken, morning classes focus would be given on practice whereas evening sessions would be teaching skills, alignment, self-adjustment as well how to adjust others during classes. Furthermore, learning the skills to instruct properly so students can correct himself/ herself by proper instructions. Sanskrit pronunciation of each yoga Asana will be taught.

Patanjali yoga sutra: further study of yoga sutra of Patanjali. Chanting is part of spiritual practice which helps you to develop devotion and surrender.

Anatomy: anatomy is one of the essential part of teacher training which would help you to understand how Asanas are affecting one's own muscles, bone ligament, etc.

There will be a discussion on countering poses for each yoga Asana which would enable one to balance the energy on the muscles.

Pranayama: essential breathing techniques which are the most important part of yoga practice. Pranayama practice will enhance the subtle body, opens the vital energy points and nervous system.

Teaching methodology: teaching is an art of sharing of what we have understood. It does not come overnight as it needed courage and clarity to share in front of an audience. Students will learn to come out from their fear in order to share the knowledge of yoga. They will be asked to speak on one the yogic topic time to time so they can be free from fear.

Meditation

There would be guided meditation every day for self-centring, developing more awareness in the day- to - day practice.

Kriya and mudra: kriyas and mudras are very much important for cleansing and channelling the energy so all the seven centres (chakra) can be opened.

Chakra:

In yoga practice all the chakras start opening up but for some students, it is hard to understand how to open a particular chakra. It will be also learnt which are the specific asanas that really help to open a particular chakra.

Discussion group: students groups are created to share and discuss philosophy, asana, anatomy and meditation.

Meditation

Meditation is the practice of intense focus on an object, visualization, sound, the breath, attention, or movement to increase the alertness of present moment, promote relaxation, reduce stress, and enhance spiritual and personal growth.

Akhilesh teaches different types of Osho dynamic meditations as he has extensively practised it at Osho meditation center.

Pranayama

Prana is breath, yama is controlled. When you are under the spell of storms, any amount of investigation will not rescue you from the situation immediately. You can have immediate relief by working on prana-breath. At the time of emotional disturbances, your pranic activities become imbalanced and you also can become anxious, tense, and even experience the feeling of helplessness.

By controlling your breath in specified ways, you can bring your breath back and re-balance your mind and body to a calmer and relaxed state. It can also vitalize your immune system. It can keep you away from diseases and prepare your mind for meditation. The teacher of Neo Yoga is here to teach you different kinds of pranayama allowing you to experience a wide variety of practices.

Puja (Prayer)

Prayer is the method by which you invoke fine energy forces to eliminate your obstacles to attain the desired goals. Neo Yoga makes Sankalpa (resolutions) and offers obligations to a deity or the fire, in the form of a reading of Mantras. They invoke specific energy in a specific form, whether it's Shakti or Shiva.
