The Negril Yoga Centre is the rustic, intimate place that I imagined. All the staff were lovely and helpful. Annette, the cook, makes delicious healthy food and is a sweet lady. Fanette, the yoga teacher, is superb. Her instruction improved our form and will stay with us. However, classes would have been more pleasant without the presence of the group that arrived shortly after us. They were consistently unfriendly and rude to all - monopolizing the yoga pavilion when it was our turn and making noise during our final relaxation. Were I to return, I would make sure this teacher was not going to be there with his group. The tour to Mayfield Falls was exhilarating - a must for all who visit Negril. The massage was also excellent. Please remind visitors that cash is king and need not be converted to Jamaican dollars. American Express is not widely accepted. (However, being credit card rich and cash poor kept both our expenditures and weight down!) The only thing that would have made the experience more complete would have been another class in the afternoon as the evening yoga teacher advertised is no longer at the Centre.

My experience at the Negril Yoga Centre was an absolute dream. I was completely taken back by the authenticity of the rooms. It was the perfect get away. The gardens were simple and the hammock area was my favorite place to go when I needed a little rest. I plan on visiting every year.

We booked a mother-daughter yoga retreat at the Negril Yoga Centre in Jamaica in early December, 2015. The accommodations and grounds of the Yoga Centre were truly gorgeous, and the staff (in the office and kitchen) were all extremely friendly. The night security guard was also excellent and always available. Breakfasts were delicious and healthy, although they did not always have everything on the menu. Yogi, the resident dog, was delightful too! This was our first trip to Jamaica and we were overwhelmed with how wonderful it was. We hear a lot of rumours of the country being dangerous (which we fortunately took with a grain of salt) and we suspect this is perpetuated by the internationally-owned all inclusive resorts who want to keep tourists enclosed on their properties. For this reason, we were grateful to be staying at the Negril Yoga Centre. The opportunity to stay at a local place, to eat in local restaurants, and to spend money within the local economy (which does not happen at most resorts) was invaluable. We had absolutely no issues with security, and in fact found everyone we met to be extremely polite, friendly and respectful. We cannot overstate how safe and welcomed we felt! Our only note about the yoga retreat advertised on the BookYogaRetreats site is that this isn't really a true yoga retreat with a specific timing or cost. The Negril Yoga Centre is essentially an accommodation that offers periodic yoga classes (there were some miscommunications with our classes but overall we were happy). You can negotiate a package that includes accommodation, meals, yoga classes, massages, tours, etc. and the final cost will simply be the total of everything you want included. They are very flexible in accommodating whatever you want to do and it is great value for what you get. Just don't feel limited by the packages on this site.Overall, we highly recommend the Negril Yoga Centre to anyone! The yoga instructors (Fannett in the morning, Stephanie in the afternoons) are excellent and you can't beat the open-air studio. Negril is sublime and you can do as much or as little with your days as you want.Lena and Patti

Thank you to Raquel & her staff here. They really go above & beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. My husband & I came to Jamaica for the first time & stayed here based on the great prices they offered...what we got was much much more...The NEGRIL YOGA CENTRE is located in a great spot for 1st timers-right across from the beach(best beach ever!)on the NORMAN MANLEY "strip", lots of little spots to eat, bars, supermarkets&easy cab access. We stayed in the LIKLE 3, we had a private patio(w a hammock), kitchen, extra lg bathroom(w hot water. They do provide clean towels, but DO bring your toothpaste/soap etc)&lots of space to make ourselves at home. We ate breakfast almost everyday here, they have a great menu& the ladies here can really cook!(try the homemade feta&Jamaican breakfast) All & all, we had the best vacation & the best stay at the Yoga Centre, I would happily stay here again & will definitely pass this info on to our friends who are interested in going to Jamaica...OH! ALSO, a big shout out to KENROY (night security), he helped us out so much-cabs/info about restaurants& just a really nice person...THANKS!!!!

Had an awesome experience here. Upon arrival we were greeted by the front desk clerk and was able to upgrade with no problems. They also have security for safety he was also a huge help for local things going on in the area. It's cloudy to shopping, taxis run all day and the beach is right across the street.

I only stayed here one night then moved to another resort due to unplanned events, but Negril Yoga Centre really impressed me. The wifi is surprisingly strong and you can get great connectivity from in the cottage to the public places to across the street! My cottage came with a fan (no air conditioning), a kitchen complete with stove, fridge, cups, plates, bowls, two beds, and ample windows that let the morning sun in, which feels great!
The day and night staff are super friendly and supportive. They helped take care of me when I was sick.
There's 3 hammocks in the back of the property on a pavilion to relax. I also saw some cars parked so there's room for that.
Location: The beach is across the street on another resort's property, but nobody seems to mind when you cross onto their property. They do have a kitchen that closes at 3pm, but if you want something else, you can go to the many resorts that are neighbors here. The biggest resort nearby would be travellers', about 3 minutes walking distance. The center of Negril will be 15 minutes walking from the Yoga Centre. For reference, you are on the end of 7 mile beach where it's much more peaceful.

Negril Yoga Centre is very well located. Two minutes walk to the beach even though it's not on the beach side, less than 10 minutes walk to the city center. Taxi 3 USD to the center and 3 USD from center to West End (Negril Cliffs, Rick's Cafe). Walking it'll take you approximately an hour to reach Rick's Cafe. We did that, wasn't too bad on a cloudy day. Knutsford Express is also less than 10 minutes walking and there you can buy your bus tickets to other cities. We got ours to Ocho Rios for less than 25 USD.Negril Yoga Centre offers Hatha style yoga classes for 10 USD in the mornings and afternoons on request. Their yoga shala is outdoors in their beautiful garden and they have yoga mats for student use. They let me keep the mat for my stay which was really nice, I could use the yoga shala myself whenever I needed to.Rooms are clean and ours was equipped with a refrigerator which is always a plus. They also have a kitchen for quest use. They serve food from 7 am to 3 pm. Since Negril Yoga Centre is a small guest house and this was not the busiest season they didn't always have everything available on the menu. However the staff is extremely nice and did their best to get us what we needed. Doing yoga and having breakfast in their garden was the best start for the mornings. They also have hammocks in the garden and massage for 65 USD/hour for full relaxation.Girls at the reception are extremely nice and helpful. We could highly recommend this place for people who are looking for good service, something small and more individual.

I stayed here with my mom in May 2015 and had a wonderful time. It was the only affordable hostel and it was located in the most convenient location for beach access, roadside or beachfront restaurants, and walking around town. We walked from here all the way across Negril to the West End cliffs and the famous Rick's Bar, and I would definitely choose Negril Yoga Centre for location convenience. There were also beautiful plants and paths around the Centre, hammocks, a yoga area, and a wonderful puppy named Yogi. There's security at night, so you always feel secure, and our room and bathroom was clean and welcoming. They even provided a mosquito repellent ring to burn at night to keep the bugs away. The staff are wonderful and helpful with advice about activities and transportation. I would definitely recommend staying here, as it's a beautiful experience at an affordable price!
It's not a retreat or all inclusive. This is a place for travelers that like independent living, a chance to experience local culture and for those that practice yoga, you've got great instructor and an open platform overlooking greenery. It's at the end of the 7 mile beach with gives you a great walking opportunity, a 5 min walk to town in one direction, and all the beach and boardwalk in the other. By day you have the beach scene and by night you've got all the parties you can handle. Take bug spray for the mosquitoes.

The yoga lessons in the morning is what originally drew me there on my first visit to Jamaica in 2010. With every subsequent visit since then, no matter where I stay in Negril, I will make the morning yoga with Fanette (sp?). I now live in Jamaica 6 months out of the year coming and going during the winter, summer and fall. Finally after all this time I decided this is where I want to stay! I stayed in the Pink Cottage I believe it is named and found it simple, clean with a choice of sleeping in the loft or in one of the 2 twin beds below. I was please to find a hot water shower as many places in Jamaica that are basic lodging do not include that. The water was actually warm which was fine! The little fridge was well served too. Although I didn't take any meals this trip, on one visit I joined a retreat group for lunch, and was so pleased to have feta cheese from the goats that are tended to on a nearby farm! Just wish more folks in Jamaica had the taste for feta with all the goats that are around! Thanks yoga center for being there all the years I have known it and for the many years before. I imagine you are one of the first accommodations in Negril! Keep it peaceful!

The grounds were very relaxing, a garden indeed. The yoga is very worth taking especially the Nada yoga at 5pm. Very transformative. The food was great and the staff are super friendly and welcoming. However, the beds are not very comfortable. If you can bear with not so comfortable beds and a fan in most quarters, it is worth it for the savings.
