One-bedroom villa

These villas include a separate bedroom with a king size bed and a living area with a sofa bed, as well as a fully equipped kitchen, private terrace, and luxury bathroom featuring marble counter tops and rain showers. The villa is about 700 square feet and can accommodate up to three people.

Two-bedroom villa

The two-bedroom villas feature large living areas, luxury bathrooms, dining areas, and fully equipped kitchens along with large terraces that face the garden. The villa is about 1200 square feet and can accommodate up to five people.

Three organic and vegetarian meals will be served to you daily. Nautilus Boutique Hotel's restaurant, Olam, sources the freshest organic ingredients, some of which come from the many fruit trees that grow on the property. Under the guide of Adi Mayer, the inventive chefs create culinary delights.

Nautilus Boutique Hotel is proud to offer a large variety of vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and raw cuisine. Their super food smoothies are blended to help balance, nourish, and restore the body. Whether the desire is to cleanse, invigorate, muscle up, fill up or veg-up, they can blend it up with love.

Nautilus Boutique Hotel can accommodate virtually any dietary restrictions. They can also help you design a meal program to bring you into optimum health during your stay. They offer detox retreats, nutritional guidance, juicing, meal planning, and raw food cleanses.

ATV tours

Go on an adventure! Get off road on a quad or motorcycle for and ride up or down the coast or through the jungle. Cabuya and Montezuma are great places to explore. Discover secluded, beautiful beaches north of Playa Hermosa and Manzanillo where you can stop for a picnic lunch, a swim, and a nap under a tree.

Exotic bicycle trips on your own or with a guide for basic and advanced physical conditions.

Canopy zip line

Fly through the rainforest canopy! Rich with wildlife, this is an exhilarating way to experience the diversity of the Costa Rica jungle. With over a kilometer of zip line cable and nine platforms, this fast flying experience is a thrill to remember. Rest assured the tours adhere to the strictest safety measures. Guests can relax and enjoy exciting views of the Pacific Ocean and the jungle from a whole new perspective up in the trees. After the canopy tour, you are welcome to hike the grounds and discover the many wonders of this landscape up close.


A unique sport fishing experience awaits you in Mal Pais, where your fishing guides are all local fishermen who have grown up in the area, fishing the waters for years. Offshore, close to shore or surf fishing are all offered. Should you decide to charter a boat it will be a 24 or 28-foot panga. No fancy machines or fishing finders are needed. These local guides know the waters so well. Your experience will be an authentic, organic one that you will never forget. At the end of the day, your guide will clean the fish and your catch of marlin, sailfish, rooster fish, yellow finned tuna, red snapper or… (who knows with such abundance?) will make for a terrific dinner that evening back at the hotel.

Not into cooking? No problem. Many restaurants in the area will do it up for you or you can ask the concierge to help you hire a chef to come to your place and prepare the evening’s meal.


Hike in Curú Wildlife Refuge or Cabo Blanco National Park and experience wildlife on your own or with a guide.

Horseback riding

Explore the jungle and enjoy the sunset while galloping or riding on the beach.

Kayak tour

Paddle out into calm bays with your own kayak and explore the lush pacific coast line. Try spicing it up a bit with kayak surfing in the crashing waves on any of the awesome surf spots nearby. Beautiful reefs with abundant marine life and deep, verdant mangroves add to the never ending wonders that you’ll discover while on your kayak adventure.

Mal Pais, Playa Carmen, and Santa Teresa boast a wide variety of unique surf breaks including sandy beach breaks and point breaks that make it the perfect location for surfers at any level. Just two minutes walking distance from Nautilus Hotel is one of the best surf spots in town. Bring your own board, rent one or Nautilus Hotel can help arrange lessons for you. Lessons are 55 USD per person. THE PRICE includes a two and a half hour lesson and surfboard rental for 24 hours.

How to get there

Driving directions from Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR)

  • Go south driving to Nicoya.
  • Once there, follow the road to Carmona, Lepanto, Jicaral, Naranjo, Paquera, Cobano, and finally to Santa Teresa.

Driving directions from San Jose

  • Take the Panamerican Highway or the new Caldera Highway to Puntarenas then the ferry from Puntarenas to Paquera.
  • Follow the road from Paquera through Tambor, Cobano to Malpais or Santa Teresa.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Tambor Airport (TMU). Transfer from and to the airport is included. Nautilus Boutique Hotel will pick you up from the airport.

Arrival by bus

From the Coca Cola bus station in San Jose, there is a direct bus to Mal Pais and Santa Teresa each day. Buses usually leave at 06:00 and 14:00 daily, but call to check on departure times as they change frequently.

  • The deposit is fully refundable if the booking is cancelled up to 2 days before the arrival date.
