In Santa Teresa, Costa Rica, lies a little stretch of paradise. Pristine beaches, miles of quiet coastline, a virtually untouched landscape for you to discover. Nautilus Boutique Hotel is just steps away from this utopia where the waves are constant, the food is delicious, and the locals are friendly.

During this honeymoon vacation, you and your loved one will stay at one of Nautilus Boutique Hotel’s luxurious one bedroom villa with one king size bed. The beautiful villa features a separate bedroom with a king size bed and a living area, with a sofa bed, as well as fully equipped kitchen, private terrace, and luxury bathroom featuring marble counter tops and rain-showers.

This honeymoon package will take place in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. Santa Teresa is a quaint, small town, a place where everyone knows everyone. Private and secluded, Santa Teresa lies on the central Pacific coast of Costa Rica, and is roughly 150 kilometers west of the capital city San Jose and is situated north of the very popular Playa Mal Pais, about 12 kilometers south-east of Cobano. This beach is known worldwide for some of the best surfing spots in Central America.

Santa Teresa has the distinct flavor of an ultra-hip, cosmopolitan destination, yet paradoxically boasts pristine, untouched beaches, and jungle, while the dirt road that runs through the area leaves no doubt that travelers are indeed in the wild un-tamed west.

Aside from the included treatments, you can also enjoy additional treatments for extra costs.

Deep tissue massage

Deep tissue massage targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. The massage therapist uses slower strokes or friction techniques across the grain of the muscle. Deep tissue massage is used for chronically tight or painful muscles, repetitive strain, postural problems, or recovery from injury. This is a great massage for surfers.

Shiatsu is a form of Japanese bodywork that uses localized finger pressure in a rhythmic sequence on acupuncture meridians. Each point is held for two to eight seconds to improve the flow of energy and help the body regain balance.

Swedish massage therapy

In this treatment, the massage therapists use long smooth strokes, kneading, and circular movements on superficial layers of muscle using massage lotion or oil. This modality is perfect for those who want prefer gentle relaxation to deeper muscle manipulation.

Thai massage

Like shiatsu, Thai massage aligns the energies of the body using gentle pressure on specific points. Thai massage also includes compressions and stretches. The massage is done on a floor mat and the client is fully clothed in comfortable yoga style clothing. The therapist moves your body into a sequence of postures, stretching the muscles, and relaxing the joints. This is one of the most deeply relaxing massages available.

Nautilus Boutique Hotel wants to help make the most of your stay in Santa Teresa. There are many wonderful opportunities to explore! From adrenaline charged to laidback and lazy, there is something for all tastes and moods.

ATV tours

Go on an adventure! Get off road on a quad or motorcycle for and ride up or down the coast or through the jungle. Cabuya and Montezuma are great places to explore. Discover secluded, beautiful beaches north of Playa Hermosa and Manzanillo where you can stop for a picnic lunch, a swim, and a nap under a tree.

Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve hike

Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve boasts 1250 hectares of forest and many kilometers of dramatic coastline. The reserve is home to hundreds of animal and plant species. Hiking here boasts incredible flora and fauna. It is not uncommon to get up close with howler monkeys, white-faced monkeys, and coati.

Cabo Blanco Reserve is one of the most popular tourist destinations on the Nicoya Peninsula. Nautilus Boutique Hotel can help plan your ideal trip and exploration in this magical place.

Curu National Wildlife Refuge tour

Curú National Wildlife Refuge and Hacienda, located on the southern Nicoya Peninsula, is thick with abundant wildlife. Curú hosts one of the most beautiful beaches and protected bays in the area.

With rich opportunity to spot some of the most exciting and interesting species, visitors will catch sight of white-faced monkeys, howler monkeys, spider monkeys, white tailed deer, collared peccary, coati, raccoons, coyotes, iguanas, scarlet macaws, toucans, and hundreds of other tropical and migratory birds.

Curú is a wonderful example of a successful sustainable development program. The hacienda still boasts low levels of cattle grazing and produces tropical fruits for export. The refuge aims to produce a profit and sustain local employment while also protecting endangered habitats such as mangroves, tropical and dry forests, and coral reefs.

Isla Tortuga tour

Consisting of two large uninhabited islands off the coast of the Nicoya Peninsula, near Paquera, the pristine white sand beaches and lush vegetation of Isla Tortuga invite you to explore, relax, swim, and snorkel.

During the boat ride over from Montezuma you will have the opportunity to spot dolphins, turtles and, perhaps, even a majestic whale shark if it’s the right season. You’ll also pass the Negritos and Guayabo Sanctuaries, where you’ll spot an abundance of sea birds and their nests. Often times these tours include lunch and drinks and always, all the snorkeling gear you’ll need.

Paddle out into calm bays with your own kayak and explore the lush pacific coast line. Try spicing it up a bit with kayak surfing in the crashing waves on any of the awesome surf spots nearby. Beautiful reefs with abundant marine life and deep, verdant mangroves add to the never-ending wonders that you’ll discover while on your kayak adventure.

Montezuma waterfalls day trip

Just 40 minutes away by car or an hour by quad when you take scenic jungle-beach road, Montezuma is the perfect day trip. You’ll find an abundance of beautiful little rocky beaches to explore. Hiking and jumping off the waterfalls is a Costa Rican rite of passage around here and definitely a memory to share back home.

In the right season, you can also watch baby sea turtles make their way to the surf. An incredible site. In the month of December this happens every day on the main beach at 4:00 p.m. when local sea turtle conservatories release hatchlings.

Nautilus Boutique Hotel is happy to help arrange your visit to Montezuma. Whether by quad, car, or shuttle, Nautilus will guarantee you make the most of your day.

Sport fishing tour

A unique sport fishing experience awaits you in Mal Pais where your fishing guides are all local fishermen who have grown up in the area, fishing the waters for years. Offshore, close to shore, or surf fishing are all offered. Should you decide to charter a boat, it will be a 24 or 28 foot panga.

No fancy machines or fishing finders are needed. These local guides know the waters so well. Your experience will be an authentic, organic one that you will never forget. At the end of the day, your guide will clean the fish and your catch of marlin, sailfish, rooster fish, yellow finned tuna, and red snapper, and they will make for a terrific dinner that evening back at the hotel.

Not into cooking? No problem. Many restaurants in the area will do it up for you or you can ask the concierge to help you hire a chef to come to your place and prepare the evening’s meal.

"The apartments are really nice, they are one bedroom apartments with a full kitchen/living room. The kitchen has a large fridge, coffee maker, mini oven, toaster etc. utensils are provided. The name of the hotel and the rooms is slightly misleading. Its not really a boutique hotel nor are the rooms villas. They are more liked serviced apartments. You get a key to your room and one for the front door of the hotel, there is a daily cleaning services and that's about it do not expect any more services, any pampering or amenities really (not even free water anywhere). That being said, I would still definitely recommend this hotel. The hotel is in a great location, the rooms are very nice, spacious and comfortable. There are great yoga classes given twice a day for 12 USD per class. There is also a restaurant that has very delicious and healthy food. There is easy access to Santa Teresa beach just walk down a road for a couple hundred meters."

"Nautilus Boutique Hotel is a gem in the jungle. It's only a few steps from the beach and also located in the middle of the colorful vegetation and wildlife. Each room is a private suite which has a plenty of space to stay. The staff will set you up for whatever activities you like, with the best Santa Teresa has to offer. If you have any inclination, take a surf lesson from Amit at Surf del Soul. The food is all fresh, organic and absolutely delicious. I usually try to get out and enjoy as much of the local flavors as possible, but I found myself eating at Olam a lot. It was just too good to be missed!"

"I have now stayed twice at the Nautilus, once in the green season and once in the high season. I love this place. The ambiance is special, peaceful, and zen. The management is friendly, very approachable and helpful. The rooms are large, well appointed and comfy. They are like apartments with kitchens and living rooms. Everything's is spotlessly clean. The restaurant is beyond compare. I saw that they were written up in the New York Times food section! Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Everything is organic, healthy vegan/vegetarian fare and you can tell it was made with love! We did yoga twice a day most days and the classes were great. The yoga studio is above the restaurant with a wonderful ocean breeze to cool you off. We also had massages up there and that was a great experience! Just a quick walk to beach for surfing, swimming and to watch the sunset. A dip in the pool after dinner and the day is complete. The reception and the managers gave us lots of ideas for fun things to do,in the area and arranged everything for us. I can't think of anything I would change."

"My family and I stayed at Nautilus Boutique Hotel for about two weeks. Rima and Pete are wonderful managers of the hotel. Olam Restaurant is an amazing vegetarian or vegan and restaurant. I'm not vegetarian but I absolutely loved their food. Beautiful hotel and just a short 100 meters of walk to some of the greatest sea!"

"My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Nautilus in January 2015. The food and service in their in-house restaurant were excellent. We especially appreciated the many vegetarian options. The hotel has a cozy feel with lots of plants and neatly clustered single story small buildings for rooms. Our room was spacious with a large bed, kitchenette, and large bath. We booked a duo massage which was completed on their yoga deck (above the restaurant) overlooking the ocean. We didn't drop into the daily yoga class but that is available. The hotel is well-located in Santa Teresa being just a short downhill walk to the beach and to the south the bakery (definitely worth a visit) and other restaurants in the more commercial section of the beach road. Overall Santa Teresa has a charming small surf town vibe and not over developed. If you are pressed for time in Costa Rica, taking a domestic flight into Tambor and short shuttle to the hotel is worth it. There is also a great sushi restaurant a short cab ride away north of hotel on beach road. Hotel also felt secure as there was a steel gate which was closed in the evenings."

"I highly recommend the Nautilus! Villas were nice, spacious, and clean. The food at Olam was delicious and healthy. Yoga in the jungle was amazing. The staff was very friendly and incredibly helpful throughout my stay. I had a number of flight issues traveling to Costa Rica (cancellations, delays, etc.) and Rima and the rest of the staff were there helping me along the way to figure out how to modify my travels accordingly once in Costa Rica. I also got something stuck in my foot running on the beach and they took me to the doctor to get it taken out. They were beyond wonderful! I cannot wait to come back!"

"The place is everything you want on your surf holiday in Costa Rica: clean, nice architecture, yoga, organic food and smoothies, amazing staff, etc. etc. If I had to pick on downside that would be the lack of a sea view. But that does not matter so much as you are at the beach in two minutes."
