This retreat provides an opportunity to enhance your overall physical, mental, and emotional state, and develop mindfulness, resulting in a more fulfilling and meaningful connection with yourself, others, and the surrounding environment. While the origins and methods of various aspects of yoga and Hatha yoga remain enigmatic, it is certain that practices such as asanas, pranayama, mudras, and mantras within Hatha yoga aim to bring about transformation.
Namaste Yoga Farm is famous for its well-known exclusive stay which provides its guests with optimum comfort and peace. The feel however is like a homely and cozy type, with six exclusive rooms that present the perfect environment to do yoga, relax, and enjoy, plus seven eco-cottages and 2 treehouses.
The interior of the place is naturally combined with attractive, elegant decor and quality, positioned near the Arabic ocean on Kudle Beach. Each room is designed to hold a coastal view and features a private terrace or balcony. The rooms are located far from the noise, so you can enjoy a quiet and peaceful environment.
Eco-tourism is more than a catchphrase for nature-loving travel and recreation. Eco-tourism is consecrated for preserving and sustaining the diversity of the world’s natural and cultural environments. This accommodates and entertains visitors in a way that is minimally intrusive or destructive to the environment and sustains and supports the native cultures in the locations it is operating in.
This is the reason Namaste Yoga Farm Gokarna uses thick volcanic, laterite stones for the walls, the roof is made from terracotta tiles on coconut wood rafters and the mattresses are made from coconut fiber.
This Namaste Yoga Farm cottage makes an ideal holiday retreat and the perfect base for exploring all the delights of the south coast. Relax and unwind after the beach in this cozy cottage, or enjoy the fresh air and dine in a beach restaurant. Discover the sub-tropical gardens and spend a day at one of the many beaches surrounding this lovely Brahmin town.
It is very peaceful. Classic cottages have garden views without shutters in the wooden frames. Not good to book if you are scared of small animals like geckos, frogs, and ants cause they are visiting frequently. This is an outdoor cottage with small critters.
The sitting area is perfect for bird watchers and animal lovers alike, but what strikes you most is the stunning vista, looking out towards the Arabic Ocean and Kudle Beach. You have a light, electric plug-ins, Wi-Fi (WLAN) connection, a mattress, and a mosquito net. The big tree house is very basic on five plywood boards (160 square feet).
There is a wooden ladder going up and monkeys jump in the tree (the monkeys are super friendly). The roof and low side walls are made from coconut leaves and bamboo. The ladder can be a challenge, though triple super stable. Toilets and hot showers are within a few seconds' walk and also the chill-out space which you can use anytime.
Namaste Yoga Farm's seascape flows into these rooms designed to embrace the coastal view. Simple design and comfortable furnishings allow for nature's tranquility to permeate your personal resort accommodation. Most rooms feature either a private terrace or a balcony.
Are you looking for a retreat from your busy lifestyle at a quiet, private hideaway close to the beach? Namaste Yoga Farm's six secluded rooms offer accommodation as an alternative to the motel/hotel experience. With views of the Arabic ocean, this deluxe guesthouse provides guests with outstanding service in a peaceful setting.
What Hatha yoga actually is hasn’t changed for thousands of years, however, the thinking and perception of it certainly has. Language is a powerful thing, and in different cultures, the same word can have a variety of definitions, throughout the evolution of yoga practice, the same word Hatha - has come to mean different things too.
Popular thinking in the West (an all-too-common expression now), is that Hatha yoga is about balancing the body and mind. With ‘ha’ representing the esoteric sun, and ‘tha’ the moon.
The practice of Hatha yoga aims to join or balance these two energies. A yoga class described as ‘Hatha' will typically involve a set of physical postures and breathing techniques, practiced more slowly and with more static posture holds than perhaps a Vinyasa Flow or Ashtanga class.
Indeed, that is how Namaste Yoga Farm describes their Hatha yoga classes. Literally, however, Hatha means ‘force’ and is more traditionally defined as ‘the yoga of force’, or ‘the means of attaining a state of yoga through force’. So, Hatha yoga can be considered as anything you might do with the body, including:
Many of the postures you see today didn’t exist until the explosion of popular yoga within the past 50 years. Ancient asanas were not merely postures, to begin with, but mudras - intended to seal and direct energy within the body.
Savasana was originally meant as a way to practice deep and esoteric visualization and encourage subtle energetic changes, going far beyond just five minutes of relaxation at the end of a sweaty class (although of course relaxation is highly beneficial in a busy modern world!).
From just one known asana in the 13th century to 84 sacred postures, to 112 in the 18th and 19th centuries, there is now a plethora of postures in the new millennium, from the most gentle and restorative to the most challenging and pretzel-like.
For the past nine years, she has been teaching yoga full-time in Norway and working as a studio coordinator for a "body and mind" department of a bigger center, setting up workshops, training instructors, and teaching yoga herself. She enjoys teaching Hatha and Yin classes, as well as Ashtanga or Vinyasa flow, pranayama, and Yoga Nidra classes. Also, she studied for longer periods with teachers like Nancy Gillgoff, Lino Miele, and Stefan Engstroem in Finland, and more recently, she has spent time at the Sivananda Ashram in Madurai and the AyurYoga Eco-Ashram in Mysore.
