Immerse yourself in this healing yoga retreat in Maui, Hawaii, with Nalu Yoga Retreats. The retreat is a perfect combination of daily yoga, pranayama, meditation, organic meals, and wellness workshops as well as island adventures to different beaches, towns, and scenic hikes. During your retreat, you will be accommodated in Nalu’s retreat space in Paia Town. The accommodation options include shared rooms with twin beds or a queen size bed and shared bathroom, private rooms with a queen size bed and shared bathroom, and private rooms with private bathroom.
The yoga in this retreat will be a fusion of alignment-based and flowing asanas. Asana will help you to detoxify the body while improving strength, balance, and flexibility. Pranayama (breathing exercises) is the key to yoga and is a focus at this retreat.
At Nalu, you will relearn how to use your breath muscles in order to purify and energize the body and mind, release old emotions, and break up stagnant energy. Pranayama will help bring you to the deep, conscious relaxation of savasana and meditation. This deep, conscious relaxation is the key to physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
The teachers will focus on the heart of yoga, union, through encouraging reminders - to sink into the breath, release tension patterns, and open the heart, the gateway to joy and love. Partner poses and gentle adjustments are incorporated throughout the classes to raise body-mind awareness and sink deeper into the practice.

In this retreat you will enjoy island excursions. No rental car needed as you will be provided with ground transportation that will take you for your trips to the best spots on Maui.
Elena has her bachelor of arts in mind-body health. Her studies include Ayurveda, positive psychology (somatic, mindfulness-based), nutrition, and stress-management. She studied Ayurveda and mind-body healing with the Chopra Center and took the Five Mindfulness trainings at Deer Park Monastery. Elena has been teaching yoga for seven years in Bellingham, Wenatchee, and Maui. She trained with the deeply spiritual and accomplished teachers of the Hatha Yoga Center of Seattle. She also practices massage therapy and is a graduate of Maui School of Therapeutic Massage.
Cori is an artist and an inspired spirit. She did her yoga teacher training at The Soul of Yoga in Encinitas, California, and embodies the openness, acceptance, and love of a true yogi. She also took the Five Mindfulness trainings in Deer Park Monastery, practicing "Reverence for Life", "True Happiness", "True Love", and "Loving Speech" and "Deep Listening".
Cindy is Elena and Cori’s mother. She’s a passionate teacher for over 30 years in many realms including yoga. She studied with Deer Park Monastery in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh, Zen Master. She is registered with the national Yoga Alliance at the 200-hour level and currently teaches yoga in Wenatchee.
This retreat will take place in Paia, in the island of Maui, Hawaii, USA. Paia Bay is a beautiful sandy bottom beach just 15 minutes from Paia town. The water is blue, warm, and inviting. With north swells, it is a great place to body surf as well.

During your retreat, you will be served daily breakfast and dinner. The meals feature Maui’s local and organic fruit, vegetables, and fresh herbs. Gluten-free and vegan options are available upon request.
Aside from yoga and exciting excursions to the nature and towns, you are welcome to book an Ayurvedic consultation on your free time.
Ayurvedic consultations take into account your whole self - physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. If any one aspect is out of alignment, it affects all other aspects of the whole self. In this consultation, you will discover what is your unique body-mind constitution and what imbalances there may be within your personal constitution.
The practitioner will address physical, mental, and emotional blockages or patterns that can contribute to chronic pain, tension headaches, digestive disturbances, stress, insomnia, anxiety, and depression. Through the wisdom of Ayurveda, one of the world's oldest healing systems from India, you will be supported on your journey to self-healing and well-being.
The cost of the consultation is 40 USD per hour.
For an extra fee, on-site massage will be available to deepen your healing yoga vacation. Modalities include Lomi Lomi, Swedish, deep tissue, neuromuscular therapy, and Reiki.
Please book your flight to arrive at Honolulu International Airport (HNL) where you are advised to take a domestic flight to arrive at Kahului Airport (OGG). Transfer from and to this airport is included. Nalu Yoga Retreats will pick you up from the airport.
"The Nalu Yoga Retreat transported us to another world - an island paradise where we left the daily grind behind and allowed ourselves to play. Our hosts provided an ideal setting for inner and outer exploration. We set our daily motivation with yoga, breathing and meditations punctuated by ever present morning rainbows. The excursions quenched our appetites for physical exercise (hiking, swimming, snorkeling) while enjoying the ocean, beaches and mountain views. We also explored the unique towns and cultural offerings of Maui and shared healthy, home cooked meals with local ingredients including granola and breads made from scratch. "At the Maui Nalu Yoga Retreat, Elena passionately and seamlessly blended yoga, science and meditation, then interspersed interesting hikes, town excursions and beach adventures, so we soon felt deeply connected both to each other and the island. Bart's home cooked, healthy and locally-based meals ensured a family attitude quickly engulfed us as we enjoyed the retreat house. Cindy's evening yoga sessions integrated the day's activities and always started with some gentle, refreshing and invigorating movement called the Qi Gong. Elena also effectively assuaged a 10 month-old shoulder injury I had with a therapeutic massage. This is a complete retreat, I'd like to repeat!"
