Are you craving for some nature connection while developing your own yoga and meditation practice at the same time? Search no more! During this retreat, discover the unique landscapes and rich history of Andalusia and explore both the countryside and the urban centers of one of the most awe-inspiring regions in the world. Have some peaceful me-time, wind down, and reconnect with yourself and nature!
You will stay in a comfortable modern countryside villa with fabulous views over the surrounding mountains. The villa is isolated from the rest of the village, offering full privacy to its inhabitants. It features seven beautifully decorated ensuite rooms, cozy indoor and outdoor common spaces, a swimming pool, indoor and outdoor yoga spaces, and a big Moroccan tent intended for yoga classes.
You will practice yoga two times a day. Depending on the weather conditions, you will practice either inside a Moroccan tent designated for yoga classes or on one of the porches of the villa overlooking the surrounding mountains.
The overall theme of the retreat is exploring inner landscapes. Just as one might explore diverse terrains in the external world, delving into inner landscapes involves a deep exploration of one's thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and experiences. You will dive into your inner world through practices of yoga and meditation.
Marija teaches Hatha yoga, focusing on mindful movement, body awareness, and proper alignment rather than on achieving specific postures. The primary aim of these classes is to better understand your body and the underlying principles of yoga and meditation practice. Apart from asana (posture), you will also practice pranayama (breathing) and meditation in each class.
The classes will be organized as workshops, during which you will explore the different physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of the practice.
The retreat is suitable for all levels. Beginners will have the chance to get a taste of yoga and build a strong foundation for their yogic journey. More experienced yogis will deepen their understanding and get some inspiration to further develop their practice.
Mornings will usually start with an invigorating yoga class, which will be 90 minutes long. After the class, you will enjoy a well-deserved fresh, delicious breakfast. After yoga and food, the group will set out for one of the daily outings through Andalusia. Finish the daily activities with another hour-long yoga class, followed by a mouth-watering dinner.
All activities and classes are optional, and everybody will be welcome to skip any of them any time they feel like it.
Marija teaches Hatha yoga, infused with some elements of Vinyasa Flow and free movement exploration, with an emphasis on proper alignment, breathing, and focus. Her aim is to help students get a better understanding of their bodies and movements so that they can work together on developing their safe and sustainable personal practice. Meditation is an essential part of her classes. For her, to touch the essence of asana practice is to move mindfully, to develop body awareness and learn how to listen to people's bodies with kindness and understanding.
