My Yoga Retreat Australia have been running retreats for eight years and most of most of the guests are repeat visitors who see the weekend as their regular respite from the "busy" of life - to reset and to calm your chattering mind and sink into the silence. It really is a gift in todays busy world.

The accommodation is very clean, simple, and minimalist in the Zen tradition. It is not fancy or luxurious, but instead clean and functional - all that you need, to focus on the deeper work.

Each bedroom is small with simply a single bed and a little sink. Bathrooms are shared between a few guests.

Program

Come together with a beautiful group of like-minded people without the noise and the chatter of small-talk. Instead, the sounds of the forest and it's fauna will be highlighted. In the silence, you gain easy access to you inner wisdom and clarity. Time to seek those answers you have been looking for or to simply give yourself some well-deserved space, silence, and "me-time".

Arrival time:

  • Friday between 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (a delicious home-made cake and tea / coffee will await you).
  • The silence doesn't start until after dinner on the first day, so you can get settled in and chat to others etc and find out how it all works.
  • The retreat will conclude just after lunch on Sunday.

This is a sample day on retreat

Please note that this is a sample schedule only and is subject to change. All sessions are optional and you can attend as much or as little as you like.

  • 07:30 Sun salutations to greet the day and connect to nature: in out in the forest ​
  • 08:30 Delicious, healthy breakfast prepared by a private chef. You have the option to enjoy each meal in the dining room (which has a roaring fireplace for winter retreats) or out on the verandah, overlooking the forest
  • 10:00 Sound healing: lie down for an hour and experience the powerful sound and vibrations from centuries-old singing bowls. My Yoga Retreat Australia has secured the talented Dan Turner to lead you through this powerful session.
  • 11:15 Meditation: learn simple but life changing techniques that you can take back home to use to calm a busy mind and allow you to easily tap into your inner wisdom, creativity, and compassion.
  • 11:45 Yoga class (options are given in each class to suit every student, whether beginner or more experienced).
  • 12:45 Lunch (organic food is used where possible in all the retreat meals)
  • Free time - take a nap, wander through the forest to the incredible waterfall, and look-out or let your creativity flow by journalling, drawing, knitting; whatever makes your heart sing and you perhaps don't usually have time to do.
  • 14:00 An indulgent cake that has come straight from the oven for afternoon tea
  • 15:30 Delightfully relaxing Yin and Restorative class. This class is designed so that even people who don't usually do you yoga, can enjoy it with ease. It will create a deep stretch for your body without you having to do anything except lie down, drape yourself over a bolster and relax!
  • 17:00 You might like to wander to the majestic waterfall and enjoy the most spectacular sunset
  • 18:30 Delicious dinner and dessert
  • 20:30 Nidra yoga: An extremely relaxing guided meditation done lying down. This is also called "yoga sleep". It will guide you into a deep relaxation, so you can then float off to a peaceful nights sleep. Most of the guests love to "star-gaze" before bed. The night sky is so clear and bright up in Springbrook and the feeling of being so in-tune and connected to nature restores a certain balance and calm to your lives.

Retreat location

One of the reasons guests return year after year is the location; to be surrounded by towering ancient trees and only the sounds of crickets and birds. It is such a powerful healer in a world where you are often disconnected from nature in your day-to-day lives.

Food

All meals are provided by the renowned retreat chef Margaret Harris. Many of the guests joke that the reason they come again and again is because of the incredible meals.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Brisbane Airport (BNE) or Gold Coast Airport (OOL). Transfer from and to the airport is not included in the price. From these airports, you can hire a car or a driver to get to the location.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 34% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 30 days before arrival.
