Mountain Monk Yoga Retreats India Program

This is an intensive yoga and nature rejuvenation program led by Guru Yogacharini Amrita who brings over 20 years of dedicated research and personal experience to her unique yoga and breathing practices as well as remarkable wisdom and knowledge about the science of yoga. Yoga is not merely a form of exercise for the body. It is an ancient wisdom for a healthier, happier, and more peaceful way of living, which ultimately leads to union with the self.

Yoga is not just performing some acrobatic poses or huffing and puffing some pranayama or “sleeping” your way through the so-called meditation. It is an integrated way of life in which awareness and consciousness must be cultivated systematically. True yoga works with nature and is able to awaken the higher powers of nature within you. Embark on sacred, powerful, and healing journeys to the Himalayas for health, peace, and happiness.

Topics covered during the retreat are the introduction to menopause, general problems during menopause, effect of menopause on other systems of the body, osteoporosis between myth and reality, complimentary therapies for menopause, yoga and meditation for menopause, how to prevent breast cancer, and the importance of diet during menopause.

Retreat location

Himachal Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh is a landscape that is tinted by golden sunsets and silvery snow. Rolling meadows dotted with wildflowers, this is a place to lift your spirits and discover your divinity within. Welcome to Himachal Pradesh, the Dev Bhumi and the land of the Gods. Nestling in the lap of the Himalaya, Himachal Pradesh holds an enviable diversity of mountain landscapes, a rich culture, and several entertainment opportunities. Its snow covered peaks, deep gorges, lush green valleys, thick woods, fast flowing rivers, enchanting lakes, and flower-filled meadows make it a traveler’s paradise.

Beyond forbidding heights of the greater Himalayas and by the banks of the shining river Beas, lies the fabled Silver valley, Kullu is also known as the valley of the living Gods. Small villages and hamlets occupy a large part of the valley, which is a rich blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage. Passing through these villages, you will feel as if you have stepped into an altogether new world.

The surroundings, the people, their customs, and traditions will leave you completely awestruck. The snow covered peaks, sparkling rivers, dense forests, terraced fields, and apple orchards have a magical effect on a tired soul.

Manali is at 6,500 feets above sea level and stands high in the clouds. A dream Himalayan hill station widely acclaimed as the “Queen of hill stations”, Manali’s charm is legendary and enchanting, where one holiday is just the beginning for much more to come.
