During this yoga holiday, the aim will be to get your mind, body, and spirit in rhythm with your existence. You will experience walking in the foothills of Himalayas and camp at beautiful locations where you will practice yoga and meditation under the guidance of an experienced yoga and spiritual master.

Yoga is not merely a form of exercise for the body but it is also an ancient wisdom for a healthier, happier, and more peaceful way of living which ultimately leads to union with the self. Yoga is not just performing some acrobatic poses or huffing and puffing some pranayama or “sleeping” your way through the so-called meditation. It is an integrated way of life in which awareness and consciousness must be cultivated systematically.
In ancient India, yoga was traditionally imparted in the Guru-Kula in Ashrams or in forest hermitages set in a natural environment and the life style was perfectly in harmony with nature. The entire personality, character, and attitudes of the student were observed by the Guru in close personal contact who then subtly led the student step by step to higher yogic modes of thought, feeling, and action.
This lifestyle was an integral part of their training and allowed the natural power of yoga to grow within them as part of their daily lives. However, yoga’s connection with nature and its concern for the environment is easily obscured, if not lost, in the modern yoga movement and its urban and commercial orientation. True yoga works with nature and is able to awaken the higher powers of nature within us.

Yogacharini Amrita is a writer, author, spiritual teacher, and educator. Apart from being a keen trekker, she is also a qualified yoga and meditation master in the tradition of Rishiculture Ashtanga yoga taught by Yogamaharishi Dr. Swami Gitananda Giri Guru Maharaj of Pondicherry, South India. This makes her the marketing, teaching, and preaching guru of yoga and meditation at Mountain Monk Yoga Retreats. She strives to empower others through her many workshops, programs, seminars, and articles.
This retreat will be held at West Wood cottages in Manali, India. The cottages are situated in the hills of Manali in Himachal Pradesh State.

During this retreat, you will be served three daily healthy and detoxifying meals. The food is vegetarian which will include fruits, herbal tea, green tea, coconut water, juices, smoothies, salads, fresh vegetables, rice, lentils, and sprouts.
During your free time, you may enjoy activities like guided mountain treks, motorbike tours, ski on the snow slopes, or rafting down the Beas river. You may also take just time to relax and enjoy the wonderful views.
Please book your flight to arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL). From there, you can flight to Bhuntar Airport (KUU) in Manali.
From Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), you may take a bus to Manali’s bus station. Mountain Monk Yoga Retreats will pick you up from the station. The pick-up is included in the price.
Taxis from Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) to Manali are also available.
