Program

Meditation and classes

Momentom provides training three times a day in a progressive series from mind into body into air. This training regime is meant to calibrate mind before embodying movement, and is meant to prepare you to remain in present moment experience throughout all training and classes. This is how they combine circus and consciousness.

Classes are taught by a mix of certified yoga and circus teachers, as well as new teachers with a diverse offering of skills. Meditation is not mandatory but highly recommended. Meditation serves to prepare for all physical training later in the day. All residents are asked to observe strict silence on premise until after yoga.

Vipassana meditation is practiced twice a week. Vipassana means to ‘see things as they really are’. Known as ‘Buddhas meditation’ it is one of India’s most ancient techniques of meditation. Meditation is followed by yoga class. With the full array of yoga teachers at the residency, residents enjoy a wide array of different styles of yoga and provide teaching experience to new graduates. Yoga is very important and is highly recommended as it warms up the body for circus and connects the mind to movement.

Community Dharma Sessions

Dharma Sessions are designed as a space for inspiration and community building. Here you will be apart of the community with guided circles and games that allow you to explore how to connect with yourself and with others. Applied to ‘real life’, this is a complete game changer. This is also the opportunity for you to develop knowledge and skills on your free time to learn about the things you’ve always wanted to learn but never took the time.
