Join Moksha Yoga Amazónica for an intimate one-week yoga retreat in the Peruvian Amazon, with experiential excursions to Tingana Eco-Reserve and a Karma Yoga Volunteering Service Project teaching yoga to kids and conducting a beach clean up. Through daily yoga and meditation practices, singing mantras, and exploring nature, tap into your primal energy and creative force! This offering is dedicated to everyone who are longing for a reconnection to themselves and nature.
Our retreats take place during our 200 hour yoga teacher training courses, and as such, in addition to pranayama, meditation, and asana practices, you can sit on any of the training’s theoretical lectures on yoga philosophy, teaching methodology, etc. None of the practices, lectures, activities or excursions are mandatory, and you are free to attend whichever you prefer and relax whenever you wish to :)
Students will reside and practice at Kantu Garden Lodge in a residential and communal environment in private or shared rooms surrounded by nature. The rooms are new, spacious, have new and comfortable mattresses, private balconies, Wi-Fi, and modern private bathrooms with hot solar showers and modern toilets. There is an open-air restaurant on-site. Enjoy the outdoor pool and fully-equipped luminous yoga shala. You will be completely immersed in nature, while also being within walking distance of many shops and local markets.
The course/hours count as Continuing Education hours for Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®) only.
You will truly be immersed in the heart of the Amazon jungle as the passionate yoga teachers guide you into an experience of unwinding. They will unleash your voices and move your bodies. This is a visceral, sensory, somatic exploration. A true moment of connection to yourself, to your community, and to nature.
A time to resource while releasing the residual tension that accumulates in your modern lives, and to learn tools and practices to take back home with you.
The teachers encourage you during this retreat to take time off your screens, especially your phone. While the digital detox is optional, part of unwinding and connecting to nature is disconnecting from technology and the distractions and demands that often come with it. If you are ready to go full detox, great! If you have commitments or responsibilities that require you to use your phone, they ask that you do not bring it to meals, or practices in the shall, and that you consciously try to limit your screen time.
During this magical week full of activities, you are free to attend the activities and practices of your choice; none are mandatory! You can either relax by the pool, explore Moyobamba's markets and street art, perhaps get a massage or dive deeper into the tools you will be learning with us. As our retreats take place during our yoga teacher training, you will have the opportunity to sit and take part in our yoga teacher training theory lectures and movement practice clinics whenever you want.
Moksha Yoga Amazonica welcomes all men, women, non-binary, and the whole spectrum of self-identity. Emily loves the simple joys in life. The first sip of coffee in the morning, the warmth of the sun, the sounds of nature. Practicing and teaching yoga has allowed her to connect more deeply to these simple joys, and this is what she loves to share with her students. It's not about what shape you make with your body, it's about what you learn from and through the movement. Emily has a passion for movement which began with her love of dance at age six. She has been teaching yoga since 2016.
Tabyr is an American yoga instructor on a global journey, spreading the ancient wisdom of yoga to students from all over the world. She's had the privilege of teaching in various countries, including the United States, Israel, Italy, and more. However, her heart lies in Rishikesh, India, where she's called home for the last two years, drawn to its significance as the birthplace of yoga. When she arrived in Rishikesh, her purpose was to deepen her understanding of yoga beyond meditation - a practice in which she'd already been long exploring. She was eager to dive into its other aspects.
