  • Warm Herbal Oil Massage (Abhyanga) ~ This warm herbal oil massage is an integrated approach blending techniques from East and West along with intuitive movements to bring nourishment to the tissues, deep relaxation to the muscles, and calmness to the mind. Because each body type is unique, the oil combinations are blended with specific herbs or essential oils to meet your specific needs. Sauna is recommended as an add-on service. Showering is available. Traditionally, after Abhyanga sauna is recommended, for most conditions, to further support detoxification.
  • Showering is available.
  • Marma Facial Therapy – Marma Points are power points located on the body, many on the face, and are areas of concentrated life force energy. Proper massage of these points with essential oil application and the light touch of pranic healing combine to balance the flow of energy through the facial muscles, joints, and organs. This deeply relaxing and rejuvenating treatment includes a mini facial with natural pure products, and neck, hand, and foot massage.
  • Shirodhara – Shirodhara is a simple, yet profound treatment that works specifically on balancing and stabilizing the activity of the mind. Warm, dosha specific oils, and herbs are beautifully streamed over the Ajna Chakra or the third eye taking the participant on a journey deep within as the brain waves slow down and become coherent. Shirodara is highly effective in normalizing sleep cycles and reduces insomnia.

Massage Sessions (You choose one)

Lomi Lomi

Lomi lomi is a traditional Hawaiian massage that uses a combination of massage techniques, nut oils, and sometimes elements of prayer, breathing, and dance to restore energy and soothe the body.

Swedish

Swedish massage involves soft, long, kneading strokes, as well as light, rhythmic, tapping strokes, on topmost layers of muscles. This is also combined with the movement of the joints. By relieving muscle tension, Swedish therapy can be both relaxing and energizing. And it may even help after an injury.

Thai

Thai massage is an ancient form of massage thought to have been developed by Buddhist monks in Thailand 2,500 years ago. It uses passive stretching and gentle pressure along the body’s energy lines to increase flexibility, relieve muscle and joint tension, and balance the body’s energy systems.

  • Deep Tissue

Deep tissue massage is best for giving attention to certain painful, stiff "trouble spots" in your body. The massage therapist uses slow, deliberate strokes that focus pressure on layers of muscles, tendons, or other tissues deep under your skin. Though less rhythmic than other types of massage, deep tissue massage may be therapeutic -- relieving chronic patterns of tension and helping with muscle injuries.

Shiatsu

Shiatsu massage relies on the use of the fingers, thumbs, and palm to apply pressure to various areas of the body’s surface to help heal common ailments and conditions, and correct imbalances in the body. Pressure applied to points on the body promotes energy flow and corrects disharmonies throughout the patient's body. In addition to being a deeply relaxing experience, Shiatsu helps relieve stress, treat pain and illness, and contributes to a patient's overall health and wellbeing.

Private Cultural Adventures (You can choose one)

It is important to our team to support the communities where we hold retreats so we have chosen Makoa Quest to provide all the cultural tours and activities.

Makoa Quest profits radiate wealth back into the community by financially supporting native Hawaiians, Hawaiian Cultural Practitioners, and nonprofit community organizations.

While their youth program is currently grant-funded, doing business with them allows them to build their foundation so that Makoa Quest can serve as the financial engine for the nonprofit side of their work.

This leads into an introductory lesson on the Art of Hula and the depth of meaning found within the words, movements, and history of this cultural dance.

Road to Hana

When it comes to driving the Hana Highway on Maui, it's the journey, not the destination, that is the main attraction. There are few words that can describe the beauty of this drive with its cliffs cloaked in green and lush valleys bursting with waterfalls.

Curves hug the coast and gaze over an ocean that stretches uninterrupted all the way to the Alaskan coastline. Couple that with black, red, and white sand beaches, a multitude of trails, and beautiful gardens and you've discovered the highway to heaven itself.
