The MoaAlm Mountain Retreat has comfortable single, double, twin, or triple rooms. The rooms are stylishly decorated and spacious, with sizes that can go up to 24 square meters. All rooms have an en-suite private bathroom and stunning views. Some have balconies, but not all. All rooms can be made up of one double or two single beds. They also have triple rooms available. After an active day in the outdoors, you can enjoy the astonishing view from the sunny terrace or relax in the living room to enjoy a drink at the bar, curl up on the sofa with a magazine or book, or enjoy a meal at the shared dining table. The resort offers an in-house yoga studio, which has a panoramic mountain view and is the perfect place for an active start to the day. There, you will have the opportunity to practice energising yoga in the mornings or a relaxing session of restorative yoga in the afternoon. We also offer inversion classes each afternoon or can assist you in your self practice. In the morning the sunrise fills our yoga room with energy and the late afternoon turns the mountains pink.

Program

MoaAlm is situated at 1800m and is the ideal place to relax and refresh. This retreat is the perfect holiday for single travelers, families, or groups of friends. There is something to do for everyone. Some like to participate in the morning yoga and spend the day reading, whilst others go skiing in the resort or join the organized snowshoe hiking or cross country skiing. At the end of the day, you will all come together over a delicious plant-based meal.

Yoga

MoaAlm offers a one-hour morning yoga class with a certified instructor on five days of the week. You are very welcome to join whether you have never done yoga before or you are a regular practitioner. The classes are always tailored to individual needs. Your yoga teacher teaches an energizing yoga class in the mornings and occasionally teaches a Restorative yoga session in the afternoon. Every evening the yoga space is also opened for self-practice.

Typical day

A typical week might look like this:

Day 1

Arrival to your mountain home from home, MoaAlm. Welcome drink and a chat over dinner about your weekly activity preferences.

Day 2

Morning yoga class looking out at the sunrise from behind the mountains before breakfast. You choose either: Introduction to snowshoe hike with our Activity Leader or a day of skiing from MoaAlm where you orientate yourself to the local ski resort. Invasion class and self-practice in the yoga studio before dinner.

Day 3

Today could look like you having breakfast followed by a fresh powder run down to the chair lift of the GG resort. There could be a day cruising on the pistes or maybe an apres-ski drink in the village before being driven back up to MoaAlm for late afternoon cake and a soak in the hot tub.

Alternatively, you may wish to join our organized snowshoe hike which heads up into the stunning Kalser Tal. We hike through fresh powder to a local mountain hut where we enjoy traditional Austrian hospitality and delicious warming food.

Day 4

There could be poor visibility up high so you will head down the valley and take an accompanied snowshoe hike through the trees. There will be an early evening toboggan followed by a restorative yoga session or inversion practice.

Day 5

There will be no alternative activity today so you can head to the piste for a day, take the snowshoes out on one of the marked trails or improve your cross country ski technique. Dinner out this evening will be at one of the restaurants in the village.

Day 6

If you’ve never tried cross-country skiing before, then take the opportunity to join a beginner’s cross country ski group guaranteed to make you laugh out loud! Dinner will be at the house in the evening.

Day 7

Friday comes around all too quickly but you make the most of it with a chance to explore the fresh powder and off-piste skiing at the base of Austria`s highest mountain, Grossglockner. Alternatively, join our final organized snowshoe hike along a stunning ridge-line with views of Grossglockner. Final evening meal at the house with new friends!

Day 8

This will be your departure day.
