"Peace, beauty, fun and food."
Every aspect of this holiday was fabulous. The owners and all the staff made us feel very welcome in their home, sharing mealtimes, joining us in the hot tub and occasionally meeting up for a bit of skiing. Martin, the activity leader, guided us on snow shoe and cross country skiing outings with endless patience and his knowledge of wild life and local customs added further interest. Rosie’s morning yoga sessions were wonderful-her sessions provided just the right balance of challenge and relaxation and she was a warm and lovely person. There was a great deal of flexibility around plans for each day- all preferences and abilities were accommodated. The meals were delicious and plentiful and the daily freshly made cakes were the scrumptious- very welcome after a hard day of exercise. Decorated in a homely Scandi style, the rooms were large and comfortable and mine had a beautiful view from the balcony. Rodelling down to the minibus added an extra element of fun to the mornings.

"The Ultimate Winter Getaway! "
I am so pleased that I eschewed conventional yoga breaks in hot climes, in favour of MoaAlm in the stunningly beautiful Austrian Alps. The week I spent here in December was the ultimate relaxing getaway from the daily grind of London life – bringing with it the opportunity to try new winter sports, improve fitness, sample delicious vegetarian and vegan food and make new friends. We were looked after superbly by MoaAlm’s large team and the family vibe was wonderful. I have not laughed so much in ages. After a lovely morning yoga session, we largely chose to do activities as a group – including hiking, snow-shoeing and cross country skiing with Martin. However, we were equally free to do our own thing, supported by the team as desired. I hadn’t downhill skied for 5 years and it was fantastic to spend some time with Polly, Craig and Xania on the slopes over a 2 day period. After returning to scrumptious tea and cake each day, we could relax in our rooms before dinner – or equally flop downstairs with a book or dash outside for the most surreal hot tub experience! All in all, a wonderful, reviving break and I cannot recommend MoaAlm highly enough.

Loved the week. Perfect balance between activity and relaxation. No pressure from the staff who try their best to accommodate all sorts of reasonable and unreasonable requests.

"One of the best vacations we´ve had!"
I and my husband have spent our winter vacation in MoaAlm one week before Christmas and we enjoyed it a lot!
We have been profoundly impressed by the surroundings in the Alps, the accommodation, the way the retreat was organized as well as by the staff.
The rooms were quite big and very cozy and downstairs you got access to a large living-dining room with a bar where you can relax, read a book, play society games, socialize or have dinner.
We loved the combination of different daily snow activities (ski, hiking, cross-country ski, snow shoeing, etc.), "hot-tubing" and yoga. This made the holiday very exciting and relaxing at the same time. We felt totally refreshed, energized and full of motivation when we got back home in Germany.
The food was also awesome, made of wholesome ingredients and vegetarian.
It was also great to meet new people joining the retreat and we totally felt like part of the MoaAlm family, thanks to the great people who are organizing it!
p.s. we as well fully appreciate pet-friendly environment and the help we got with our dog!

"A perfect week"
What to say about MoaAlm. Perfect location. Perfect views. Rooms were amazing great size and everything you need. Food was just the best, far far better than ever expected.
The different activities were amazing, not going to lie I was absolutely shattered but still loved it.
Haven't tried so many new things in ages!
The excursions are planned so perfectly.
One of the best things though is the amazing bunch of people you get to share the experience with. The team at MoaAlm really do make you feel part of the family, it can be nerve wracking doing something like this alone but you certainly don't feel that way. As a novice to everything except yoga I felt comfortably encouraged to try everything.
One of the best weeks ever was so sad to leave.
Thank you everyonr at MoaAlm!

Pure & delicious air, fresh & delicious food, openhearted & attentive people.
What else would you wish for? Read the offer's details, it is in there.
Sleep down in the valley is just not the same than up in the mountains: these silent, massive rocks where space opens, as if allowing eternity to touch the present moment.

Le cadre est magnifique, toute l’équipe est super pro et aux petits soins. Le bain chaud extérieur est top. Activités variées et ambiance cool et sympa. A faire seul, en couple, en famille !

What a great week we spent at MoaAlm over New Year. The first thing that you should know is that all the others reviews are 100% correct. This place deserves its 5 stars - it is a beautiful place with fantastic people and wonderful food. Barbara, Hubert, Xania, Craig and the whole MoaAlm team really go out of their way to ensure you have the best time. Attentive but never overbearing. My daughter (11) and my wife had never skied before and so greatly benefitted from Barbara's 1-2-1 ski tuition. So we skied, hot-tub'd did Yoga each morning, went hiking, snowshoeing, etc, etc. The food is really excellent (thank you Dodijn!) with plenty of vegetarian options and the beer is great too (thanks Lukas!). Our daughter fell in love with beautiful Nelson and Zora, the two dogs.
We flew into Innsbruck, picked up a hire car and set the sat nav for Kals am Grossglockner. It took us 2.5 hours going and 3 hours coming back (lots of snow so lower speed).
We're already planning our next stay!

We have now visited in both winter and summer and can highly recommend for either season.
We were guided on excellent walks and snow shoeing expeditions, given tuition in cross country skiing (shame the snow didn't last so we could have tried it some more), and explored the mountains and nature under the guidance of the excellent team at MoaAlm. Barbara gave us some great and varied yoga classes, a great benefit either before or after our daily activities.
The food, which is predominantly vegetarian, was excellent and plentiful all week, including some divine afternoon cakes.
The rooms, are large, comfortable, well equipped and just the right temperature, in both winter and summer.
For our summer trip the hot tub wasn't in place but it was for our winter visit and what a plus that is. There cannot be many, if any better hot tub views in the Alps, sitting in 40 degrees water overlooking nothing but snow covered mountains (even in a windy snowing evening) was extra special.
We highly recommend MoaAlm in its wonderfully serene and scenic setting for a very relaxingly active weeks holiday. Everything is thought of and all equipment provided was excellent. The time taken to get to this remote outpost of tranquillity is well worth the effort!!

Moaalm was exactly what I was looking for to unwind after a stressful few months. Xania and Craig are brilliant hosts and they have found a fantastic team of people to run the place and to make everyone feel at home. There is beautiful scenery on the doorstep and a range of outdoor activities on offer as well as great skiing for intermediates like me. There is plenty to do if you are super-fit and adventurous but if you're not then the are easy walks and the team will adjust to your level so you can get outside and enjoy the mountains. The house is cosy and has great views - there is a boot room for heating ski boots etc. and a hot tub outside for apres-ski. Yoga was good too - with proper grippy mats and all necessary equipment and Barbara was a lovely teacher. The food was delicious and I gave up trying not to eat the daily cake on day one as the smell of it baking was too good. There is really nice Austrian wine, a proper coffee machine and a range of schnapps on the bar. If you like dogs you will love Nelson and Zora and if you're not keen don't worry they will stay away from you - they're very mellow, just like the rest of the place. Would love to return.

Very much lived up to and surpassed the brochure. Highly recommended. Guests were really treated like "house guests" by Xania, Craig, Barbara and Hubert and their team. The food was mainly vegetarian but delicious, even for an avowed meat eater. The scenery is stunning and MoaAlm is right in the heart of it on a plateau 1, 000 ft above Kals.
MoaAlm Mountain Retreat
We stayed for 5 days over Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Be warned - it is a bit of a mission to get to, 2-3 hours from Salzburg or Innsbruck by taxi - but absolutely worth it.
Accommodation is in a beautiful larch-clad Austrian lodge with views of the surrounding mountains and valley. Our room was huge with a big comfy bed and - even with minus temps outside - really warm, we turned the radiator off for most of our stay!
The day starts with optional yoga in the beautiful yoga studio. Barbara is a wonderful teacher, managing all-levels classes with ease. A huge buffet breakfast with guests and staff follows, then morning activity. We don't ski but love to hike, but the local slopes seem pretty good and not very touristy. Afternoon is rest time if you want, with tea (or gluwein) and cake laid on. They also have a hot tub, which is perfect to relax in with a glass of wine or local gin. Finish up with massive delicious dinner and then collapse into bed.
I think my favourite thing about MoaAlm was how welcoming everyone is. You don't feel like you are in a hotel, more like you're staying with friends or family. We loved the communal, laid-back approach. Much love also for resident doggy Nelson and his companion Zora. Already planning to visit the company's other retreat in Croatia this summer!
