Miriam Vandoorn

Miriam first came to yoga because She had very bad sciatica pain and could hardly stand up, this was due to bad posture and a scoliosis she developed during her years growing up. She felt much better after a yoga class, her posture started to improve and had no more pain.

With regular practice, Miriam discovered yoga’s many benefits. Focuse in breathing helps to quieten her mind, building self-awareness and calmness which then she carry over from her practice into her daily life.

Having studied various forms of yoga since 1998 including Asthanga, Satyananda, Vinyasa and Chi Gung yoga, Miriam now teaches a ‘flow’ style of yoga. Her classes are informative and fun and are influenced by her belief in practicing with awareness and with intention, developing breath awareness, meditative peace, postural alignment, and the joy that is yoga!

Since the birth of her son Keanu, Miriam gained a much deeper understanding of teaching pre-natal and post-natal yoga classes. She loves to teach pregnancy classes to not only connect to the life that is growing within but to develop a deeper understanding of yourself and give you the tools to prepare for birth.

"Thank you so much for a wonderful long weekend! The quality of your teaching and guidance was excellent in so many ways! Even as a beginner to some moves I felt very comfortable as you provided clear options for all. It was also interesting and a fun experience to see other more advanced yoga performed by others such as the headstand and back bend. I achieved so much from the repetition, but there was plenty of variety and new moves there for me to learn too! Even with a class, your approach was personal and attentive as you came around the room to assist all of us. The retreat facilities were lovely from the quality of the rooms, to the excellent facial, relaxing massage, friendly staff and spa and sauna experience. I felt so spoiled and pampered."
