The retreat supports guests who are feeling stressed and stifled in their everyday lives to find space and expansiveness both mentally and physically. Breath coach and yoga teacher Bridget Rooth welcomes a small group of guests into her Norfolk stone home to train their minds and bodies in the yoga studio, relax in her cosy home, and connect over delicious, vegetarian home-cooked meals.
Bridget's Street was built in the 1890s out of Norfolk stone. Her house is bright and sunny, warm and welcoming, with a long kitchen opening onto her relaxing garden. Her yoga room basks in the afternoon light, and her lounge is cozy with an open fire. Bridget also takes guests to her South Beach property, where she starts the self-led mindfulness session in her long grassy garden that stretches down to a tidal creek. The bedrooms are furnished with zipping and lock beds and can be made as twin or double rooms.
Spacious and east-facing, the Cacao Room overlooks the garden and receives the morning sun. It has its own en-suite bathroom with a shower, washbasin, and toilet. A small table and chair by the window offer the perfect place to sit and journal, write, or simply be. Choose to have the room made up with either a double bed or two singles.
The Zingiber Room has a wooden floor and richly colored handwoven rugs. Its magnolia walls glow in the late afternoon sun: a perfect space for contemplation and relaxation. Choose to have the room made up with either a double bed or two singles. Shared bathroom.
Book a double room for yourself or come along with your partner, spouse, friend, parent, or adult child. Alternatively, you can book both rooms for a group of four best friends, two couples, or any combination of people you'd like to spend the weekend with. The bedrooms are furnished with zipping and link beds and can be made up of twin or double rooms.
The Norfolk retreat is for people who want to wind down and relax in a smaller, more intimate group setting.
From the tranquil surrounds of her Norfolk stone home, yoga teacher and breath coach Bridget Rooth offers a maximum of four guests the chance to train their minds and bodies in the workshop, relax at the fireside, and connect over delicious, vegetarian-friendly home-cooked meals.
Bridget starts one of her sessions at Heacham South Beach in a grassy area overlooking a tidal creek. The Finding Space retreat is designed to assist each guest in their individual search for more space.
Guests feeling cornered or constricted in their every-day lives may enjoy the expansiveness and freedom offered by Norfolk’s wild beaches and big skies. For others, the need for space may be more internal: space to think, reconnect, or create. Others may be looking for space to shift the stress or stagnation of their day-to-day world.
The two-day program focuses on the mind, the body, and the breath. Guests are supported in finding space for themselves in a holistic way that considers both mental and physical health.
Drawing on her yoga and mindfulness training and her work as a breath coach, Bridget helps guests release pent-up physical tension, retrain dysfunctional breathing patterns, and quieten busy minds. Nature plays a huge role in this retreat, with plenty of outdoor time to practice a variety of mindfulness techniques on the beach or in her garden.
The retreat includes four learning sessions: one focused on breath, two focused on the body, and a self-led session on the beach to quieten over-busy minds. The program is designed to suit the seasons and changes on a regular basis.
Learning to manage your mind is a lifelong pursuit and one that is greatly assisted by yoga. Guests learn other tools to help quieten over-busy minds, finding space for curiosity, creativity, and calm.
Gentle Hatha yoga is used on the first two days to find space in the body and release pent-up tension; on Sunday morning, more dynamism and flow are introduced into the yoga session.
In the Breath Better, Stress Less workshop, guests learn how to identify and retrain poor breathing habits. Efficient breathing is a major component of good health and contributes to managing stress, emotions, and sleep.
The retreat is a time to reconnect to nature with wetland and beach walks, breathing sessions by the tidal creek, optional walking meditations around the old part of the village, as well as meals around the picnic table and firepit.
Bridget has 20 years of yoga practice behind her, and much of it acquired during the 15 years she lived in Asia. A certified free diver and something of a breath geek, Bridget always includes some breath work in her retreats. She is a well-travelled foodie, and Bridget enjoys hosting guests around her vibrant table. Bridget loves the outdoors, nature, adventure, feeding people, culture, languages, and sketching.

You will be served home-cooked vegetarian meals and healthy snacks throughout the weekend, as well as unlimited tea, coffee, and non-alcoholic drinks included in the price. Bridget's philosophy around healthy eating is to keep it fresh, seasonal, and made from scratch where possible.
She sources lots of her ingredients locally, such as Norfolk-grown and milled wholemeal flour for her bread, free-range eggs, Norfolk cheeses, local crab, samphire, heritage apples, and plenty of locally grown vegetables from the county’s market gardeners. She prepares her vegetarian-friendly meals with love and care and loves hosting guests around her table.
