A warm welcome awaits you at Toadhall. They offer the usual home comforts of comfy beds, fluffy towels, and scrupulously clean accommodation, plus some unusual extras such as eggs from their own hens, resident peacocks, two geese called Pate and Foie Gras, and a cockerel called Franco!

The venue offers a variety of twin / double rooms and it also has a self-contained studio apartment, all with onsite parking. There is a choice of four rooms, namely:

  • The Studio: a large open space, with a double height ceiling in the bedroom area, is ideal for a group of friends up to four people
  • The Peacock Room: double / twin room with a nice seating area and shares a large bathroom with the Partridge room
  • The Pheasant Room: double / twin room with an ensuite bathroom and windows looking out to the garden and the courtyard
  • The Partridge Room: double / twin / single room and shares the large bathroom with the Peacock room

Typical day

  • 07:00 Rising bell
  • 08:00 Breakfast
  • 09:30 Mindfulness workshop (2 hours)
  • 11:30 Coffee break, followed by free time or traveling to castle or starting point for walk
  • 13:00 Lunch, followed by planned activities
  • 19:30 Evening meal

Every day will be different. The team will look at the weather and plan the day accordingly. Your walks will vary from one hour to three hours and everything is optional. You will visit two castles and do several walks over the six days.

You will also get the opportunity to do some meditations on secluded private beaches. During the retreat, you will also have three yoga classes, but you will also have time to chill and just be.

Included excursions

  • Visits to castles and gardens and maybe a glimpse of their famous Highland cows - aka 'Hairy Coos'

Retreat location

The location of this mindfulness retreat is just five minutes from the coastal town of Stonehaven. Stroll along the cliff tops to a shingle beach, listen to the sound of the sea or just use the peace and quiet to work – Wi-Fi is free.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Aberdeen Airport (ABZ). Transfer from the airport is included in the price. You can also fly to Edinburgh Airport (EDI) or Glasgow Airport (GLA).

Arrival by train

From Edinburgh Airport (EDI), you can continue your journey by train. It is very easy to catch a train direct from the airport to Haymarket station in the center of Edinburgh, where you can get a train to Stonehaven. Mindfulness Energy team will arrange a free pick up from Stonehaven railway station.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 20% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 30 days before arrival.
