The Georgian country house was once home to economist John Maynard Keynes and ballerina Lydia Lopokova as their retreat for contemplation and calm. An ideal setting for a rejuvenating and reviving yoga retreat. As well as the daily yoga and relaxation schedule, there will be plenty of time for refreshing walks along the stunning South Downs.

All 7 bedrooms were decorated using natural materials. Every room has plenty of character and all have views over either the Sussex Weald or Downs. The garden has many mature trees; you could sling one of the many hammocks and relax to the sound of birdsong. For the more energetic, there is a tennis court hidden behind a row of ash trees. The firepit in a woodland clearing provides the perfect setting for spinning yarns and stargazing as night closes in.

Mindful Movements UK Yoga Retreat Program

This yoga retreat will be a combination of morning Vinyasa flow (a dynamic and energetic practice), restorative and calming evening classes and yoga Nidra (yogic sleep). There will be optional additional themed workshops, tailor made to suit you.

Hana Saotome
Hana first came across yoga during her dance training. Throughout her professional career in dance, her practice of yoga supported her and kept her sane and balanced during challenging times. Yoga eventually became a passion and her knowledge and experience of the physical and emotional body through dance eventually became intertwined with her practice and teaching of yoga.

Nestled underneath the South Downs and edged by woodland with far reaching views across the Sussex Weald, Tilton House sits impressively in the natural landscape.

How to get there

Arrival by train

There is a regular train service from London Victoria to Lewes (every 30 minutes) then taxi / bus / train from Lewes, or the nearest station Berwick, just 2 miles away.
