Join this safari tour and yoga retreat for an unforgettable meeting with the Masaï friends in Ngorongoro. Experience tracing lions, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes, and elephants at Serengeti. You will visit the two great lake areas in Tanzania; Lake Victoria and Lake Tanganyika. Be part of this peaceful liveliness around you and with the help of nature, meditations, breath work, and yoga, you will be taken on a trip to a deeper relaxation than you thought was possible.
During this retreat, you will stay in light weighted tents among the wild nature, simple but clean local guesthouses, and luxury hotels.
During this retreat, after sailing and hiking at Rubondo Island, enjoying the diversity of birds, you will be surprised by hippos coming ashore. Yo will be impressed by face to face meetings with bushbucks, impalas, and gazelles; which stare at you with their big wonderingly eyes. A crocodile will slowly pass if you pay attention. Later you will walk through the rainforest, searching for chimpanzees, which hang lazily in their tree or intensely panic when the alpha male joins them.
During the meditation sessions, you will learn in your mind how to let the new come to you, to see that life means you well, and to enjoy from abundance inside and outside yourself. You will be taken step by step in this inner journey, which will show you a different, joyful perspective on yourself and the world around you. This pure nature in Tanzania will make it easier for you to see, hear, and feel more profound what life has to give you.
You do not need meditation experience to join this retreat because people will be able to experience meditations and exercises on their own level. You will be provided a profound insight into your mind. There will be many methods of meditation, Yin yoga, Kundalini yoga, different ways of breathing on music, nature exercises, and much more to connect with your true essence. Back home your vacation will not be over because you learned what is needed to relax permanently.

Endonyowas is not a fake tourist village but an authentic village where Masaï are living a simple and hard life to survive. The circumstances have dramatically changed and they know they have to develop to save aspects of their culture.
One of the reasons why they are very open to show you their culture, their lifestyle, some activities and gladly exchange with you during a cup of tea. During the evening, you will rest at Olmoti Campsite in a light-weighted tent with comfortable mattresses. Also, you will enjoy a first meal made by the private cook.

Alina de Vilder is counselor and teacher of meditation techniques. She runs her own therapy and meditation center in Hoorn, Netherlands. During the past 25 years, she collected a large scale of techniques from many disciplines like mindfulness, breathing meditations, yoga exercises, relaxation methods, bio-energetic exercises, and visualizations.
After a long career as a therapist and counselor, she followed the adventure that crossed her path and started Mindful Adventure. She is happy that by founding Mindful Adventure, the Masaï of Endonyowas will be assured with much needed income generated by the travelers. Furthermore, Msafiri will have a better future and the dream school of Endonyowas will be supported.
Msafiri is a young professional guide and driver. He is a Masaï and grew up in Arusha. His name means "traveler". He is proud of his heritage despite the hard life that came with it. More than anything, he longs to be more free in his life. This sense of being free gives him a natural and strong connection with truth. He follows his heart with Mindful Adventure and has been working hard to organize all practical aspects of the safaris around Tanzania.
He speaks good English and a little French. He will provide you with all information about the people, landscapes, culture, history, and off course the flora and fauna of his country. While sitting around the fire, he can tell you many stories about the history and traditions of the Masaï. His humor and typical Msafiri laugh will be remembered by you when you return home.
This retreat will be held at seven different locations around Tanzania; Kilimanjaro, Ngorongoro, Serengeti, Mwanza City, Rubondo Island, Gombe National Park, and Arusha.
During this retreat, you will be served daily delicious and locally sourced meals. You will have available a private cook that will prepare fresh meals on site. A small number of meals during some outings are not included.
Please book your flight to arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). The organizer will pick you up from the airport. The pick-up is included in the price.
"AFRICA! I didnt know much about it really. I felt attracted to Africa, but also tense because of my ignorance about the country and its inhabitants and not knowing what was going to happen. Msafiri was welcoming us on arrival and that was very nice. I felt safe from day 1 onwards. The people are very sociable, speak reasonably English and are cheerful with a positive attitude. They also take good care of the food. I especially appreciated camping on small sites and being in touch with nature and locals instead of traveling around like a rich tourist. The contrast between rich and poor was made crystal clear during this trip. The climate is good and certainly not too hot. Nature is overwhelmingly beautiful. I have never been in a country with so many different animals and birds. Streets are colourful. The trip itself has a diverse program with riding, walking, temperature differences, heights, relaxing, meeting Masai villages and towns. I felt I was traveling with friends instead of a travel organisation which made the whole experience very special.Africa, Im glad I met you. Many thanks to Alina and Msafiri for this beautiful experience."

"It has been a fantastic experience to travel to Tanzania with Mindful Adventure. It was a completely different holiday compared to standard trips offered by most travel agents. Walking with the Masai through the ever changing views of the countryside; absorbing the greatness of nature and camping with donkeys, their riders and our own cook. My three highlights were Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti and I also really enjoyed swimming underneath romantic waterfalls! It is indescribable how many animals can be spotted in such a short time. I thoroughly enjoyed it and often still think about it with great pleasure."
