Make the most of midsummer with 4 days and 3 nights of yoga and delicious vegan food in an idyllic location! The summer solstice marks peak solar power, the perfect time to practice sun salutations in the beautiful surroundings of Bonhays, the venue. Energizing Vinyasa flow yoga in the morning, gentle Yin yoga in the afternoon, and blissfully relaxing Yoga Nidra before bed; take a dip in the pool, walk to the beach, sit by the campfire, marvel at the stars, and relish every moment.
Bonhays has a mixture of single and shared rooms. The accommodation is simply furnished, well-equipped with a warm, welcoming feel, and clean, comfortable rooms. The main living space (there's more than one) has big sofas for lounging and an open-plan kitchen. The outside space has picnic tables and benches, and the yoga room and indoor heated swimming pool are available whenever you wish to use them.
If you're coming as a group of 3 or 4 (if your group includes a couple), there's an option to have one of the accommodation buildings to yourself. This consists of one twin bunk room and one room with a double bed plus a bathroom, kitchen, and lounge area. For more information, please send an inquiry.
Yoga sessions are suitable for all levels, from beginners to seasoned yogis, and are held in the group room, a lovely large space with a gentle, restful vibe. The morning Vinyasa flow class is more energizing, the later Yin session, softer and mostly mat-based, and Yoga Nidra, a guided full body relaxation, after supper. You are free to do as many, or as few, activities as you wish, there's no pressure.
Please note, that the program may be subject to change.
Louise is an experienced and fun-loving yoga and pilates teacher with a soothing voice and a background in performing arts. She's a registered senior yoga teacher, trained in Vinyasa Flow and Yin yoga, and aims to spark a sense of curiosity in students; about themselves, and how they can best meet their needs, both on and off the mat. She has practiced a vegan diet and lifestyle for 38 years.
Bonhays Retreat Centre is a magical place. A secluded sanctuary nestled in Dorset's rolling hills between Bridport and Lyme Regis and just 2 miles from Charmouth Beach. With its heated pool, comfortable accommodation, valley views, and tranquil location, it's the perfect getaway.
Dorset is one of the UK's most iconic counties, home to the Jurassic Coast (the only natural World Heritage Site in England) and enjoys 364 more hours of sunshine throughout the year in comparison to the UK average.
