In this retreat, you will be accommodated at The Lodge at Oak Creek Ranch. It is adjacent to the Los Padres National Forest and is truly a get away from it all wilderness setting and unique California private retreat location. The 163-acre ranch, including the 6,000 square foot lodge, is located near the central California town of San Luis Obispo.
The Lodge at Oak Creek Ranch combines an authentic nature setting with first-class facilities. Hospitality experts have called it “incredibly special” and “magical.” All rooms are double occupancy and each room has two beds. If you bring a friend you can room with them. If not, you will be assigned a roommate.
A typical day at the retreat might include a healthy, delicious breakfast followed by a short hike around the grounds, group meditation, yoga for all levels with Maribeth, free time for a massage or to spend time with life coach Dottie, light and fresh lunch followed by more free time, yoga, coaching, or hiking. You will also enjoy a pool party (weather permitting), delicious, satisfying dinner, and time to socialize with new friends, followed by bonfire or stargazing.
Dottie Ricketson is a master coach. With a strong focus on the relationships in lives, she is a life coach who works with her clients to help them gain clarity around who they are, what they want out of life, and ultimately, how to create the life they desire. It has been said that Dottie has the ability to “hear beneath the words” to help her clients recognize hidden patterns and buried issues that may be affecting their everyday lives.

You will be served daily healthy, delicious food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner by a local caterer.
The diverse wildlife that is native to the area includes black-tailed deer, wild pig, coyote, and bobcat. Bird-watchers can expect to see varieties of red-tailed hawk, barn owl, golden eagle, acorn woodpecker, western blue jay, yellow-billed magpie, and California valley quail, among many others.
Enjoy dozens of walking trails on 160 acres of beautiful landscape. You can explore the back trails to view the nearby pastures of llamas and emus, walk to the “top of the world” to get a 360 degrees view of the neighboring areas, including Pozo Valley and the Los Padres National Forest, or follow the creek-bed trails looking for rock specimens and animal tracks. Trail maps are available.
A large 40 x 50’ swimming pool in the lodge is perfect for exercise lap swimming or large group pool parties. The peak swimming months are June through September.
The location provides an excellent opportunity for stargazing. Because of clear skies and low ambient light, the night sky comes alive for the casual shooting star observer or the serious astronomer. Presentations and slideshows by a local astronomical group are also available.
A lavender field featuring 12 varieties of lavender was planted in 2002 adjacent to the barn. A field brochure describing each of the varieties and their specific characteristics is available for guests to help them identify each species as they stroll through the garden.
Ping-pong, horseshoes, Frisbee golf, bocce ball, and volleyball are just some of the outdoor games and activities available.
During this retreat, there will be massage treatments available with an on-site masseuse for additional costs. The schedule is upon arrival.
Please book your flight to arrive at San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport (SBP).
