    The house has been recently restored and boasts large, comfortable rooms. The bedrooms are bright, spacious, and beautifully decorated with shared bathrooms.

    During this small and intimate gathering you will be pampered with daily yoga classes which will be held in one of the two available yoga spaces. The beautiful terrace is overlooking the Conicella valley and a stunning yoga room is available for those days when it is too hot to do yoga outside.

    This retreat will take place at the beautiful Shanticentre, which is located in Abruzzo, Italy, near Pescara. It is set in a peaceful valley in a strategic location near to seaside, mountains, and hilltop towns.

    At Shanticentre you will be provided with three beautiful vegetarian meals each day. Dishes vary in line with the seasons so you can always expect fresh, nourishing, and delicious meals.


    Breakfast is served straight after the morning yoga class and consists of homemade granola, yoghurt, fruit, freshly baked bread, homemade jam, fruit juice, and a selection of teas and coffee.


    Lunch is ready at about 1:30 p.m. and will typically be a buffet of salads, fresh bread, cheese, and homemade delights such as kalamata olive paste or slow roasted tomato quiche.


    Dinner is usually served at 7:30 p.m. and features a main such as leek and asparagus risotto followed by a light sweet, for example fresh strawberries with almond meringues, and vanilla ice cream.


    Atri, the nearest town, is a charming place easy to explore on foot in half a day or more. It is thought to date from about 300 BC and boasts some impressive architecture including a 13th century cathedral as well as interesting museums, shops, cafes, and restaurants. The views from the city walls extend more than 180 degrees from the sea to the east to the mountain ranges in the west.


    Casoli is a quaint little village within easy reach of Shanticentre, a 10 minute bicycle ride or a good half hour walk. It has a lovely piazza with good coffee bars, a beautiful church, and a little lane with large paintings on the walls of the houses, making it a very interesting place to visit.

    The coast

    Shanticentre is about 20 minute drive from the Adriatic coast, where you can find sandy and stony beaches alike and even a nature reserve in Pineto, where the beach is lined with pine groves.

    The mountains

    The center is 40 minutes away from the foothills of the Apennine mountain. The beautiful Calanchi National Park just outside Atri is a great place where you can walk in nature with a stunning mountain backdrop. Day trips can be arranged to the mountains themselves, where you can relax, picnic, and take in the wonderful fresh air.

    Shanticentre has a calming and tranquil treatment room where you can indulge in a number of therapies which provide an excellent complement to your yoga classes and make the experience of your holiday even more profound and rejuvenating.

    Indian Head Massage

    The upper back, shoulders, head, neck, and face are massaged using warm oil and acupressure. This experience gives you clarity, calmness, and a deep sense of inner peace.


    Reiki is a form of calming and relaxing energy healing from Japan which helps the body to heal itself. The practitioner's hands remain still on energy centers of the body from head to foot, bringing a profound feeling of stillness and wellbeing.

    Relaxing oil massage

    A deep massage drawing on Swedish, Javanese, and Hawaiian techniques designed to completely relax the mind and the body.

    Thai yoga massage

    Thai yoga massage is a treatment which combines acupressure and yoga stretches. It is an excellent way to make your body more flexible, supple and relaxed.

    Arrival by airplane

    You may choose to fly to Abruzzo Airport (PSR) which has daily flights with from London Stansted Airport (STN). Michele Oliver will pick you up from the airport. The pick-up is included in the price.

    You can also fly into Ancona Falconara Airport (AOI), located at 90 minutes distance from Shanticentre.

    Arrival by bus

    If you are arriving from Rome, you can take a coach from Tiburtina coach station, right next to Rome Tiburtina train station, to Val Vomano situated at 25 minutes from Shanticentre.

    From Rome central train station, Termini, you can the Metro line B, the blue one, for four stops to Rome Tiburtina station. From there you have direct buses to Val Vomano.

    Arrival by train

    It is possible to get a train from Rome to Pescara.
