Mindfulness meditation is a special technique in which you will learn a basic posture of letting go, patience, acceptation, and mildness. This presents a paradox: something changes without the goal that something needs to be changed. A part of the physical and mental pain which you experience exists due to the thoughts you have about it. In this course, you will learn to be in the present and to accept thoughts and feelings without judgments. Yoga exercises support this process. Learn how to combine yoga and mindfulness meditation, and you can continue this meditation form at home.

Through yoga classes, you will connect yoga with mindfulness meditation exercises. Mindfulness meditation will allow you to focus your attention on one thing and make all other thoughts, such as work and other matters, get sidetracked. Your attention is fully focused on the movement. As a result, you can relax.
The exercises are slow and typically performed in silence. Your attention is fully focused on the exercise. Sometimes, the exercises are combined with the body scan (a relaxation from head to toe) or a guided fantasy. The most important thing is to always relax and focus your attention. All muscles will be affected so you will experience your body relaxed after an hour. For your mind, you will have a sense of calm and peace. It makes you experience the day, leave everything that has happened behind, and go to a deep relaxing sleep at night.
During this retreat, you will get to know the different sides of mindfulness meditation which will be preceded by Hatha yoga exercises. You will also have some sessions of body relaxation or body scan, guided fantasy, and mindfulness meditation. After class, you can share your experiences with other students in a safe and pleasant atmosphere.

Philip is a yoga and mindfulness meditation teacher since 1988. He has a great deal of experience in teaching Hatha yoga, yoga therapy, and meditation classes in the Netherlands. He received a diploma in yoga teacher training in Scheveningen, a diploma in meditation teacher training at Osmosis, and has joined an 8-week mindfulness training (MBSR).
