In the French Pyrenees, far away from civilization, you can completely relax through yoga, meditation, and mindfulness. Add to that a "pinch" of great surroundings, beautiful nature, swimming in a natural pool, delicious vegetarian food, and divine massages and you know that this is the ideal cocktail for your week of relaxation and recharge.
The monastery and all outbuildings have been carefully renovated and have a luxurious finish. The energy of this place is enchanting and serene. The program offers space to go for a walk in the woods, to relax by the natural swimming pool, or to enjoy a massage by our fine and talented masseuses. Their touch is healing for body and soul and you feel reborn.
The retreat is organized and led by Karolien and Inge. They are experienced yoga teachers who know how to provide their lessons with depth, fun, and inspiration. They feel the group flawlessly. They tune in to individual needs and share from their wealth of wisdom and knowledge. They have a down to earth approach and know how to combine the different yoga tools such as pranayama (breathing techniques), asana (physical postures), mantra (singing), and mythical stories from the yoga literature and physolophy in such a way that it becomes a refreshing and inspiring cocktail.
Yoga came into Karolien’s life some 15 years ago. She loved the way the physical asana practice made her feel and how easily she could integrate this practice in her ever changing life. At Svaha Yoga Amsterdam, she truly experienced how asanas can be combined with (mantra) music and philosophy and this inspiring combination got me fully hooked. She creates a safe atmosphere in which she guides beginners through the practice and deepen the practice of the more advanced. She enjoys teaching dynamic Vinyasa classes in which movement is in harmony with the beat of the breath and music.
Inge’s introduction to yoga happened in the foothills of the Himalayas, in India, about a decade ago. When she started practicing regularly in Amsterdam at Svaha Yoga, she was hooked. Practicing and teaching yoga enriches her life every day. In her work as psychologist and coach, she brings in yoga philosophy and breathing and her personal practice is ever evolving. In her classes, she combines philosophy, meditation, mantra singing, and classical Hatha yoga practices with breathing techniques and active forms of Vinyasa flow.
