The home stay yoga meditation retreat is a traditional Kerala home, set in four acres of organic farm. They have two large and airy guestrooms with attached bathrooms. Adjoining the bedroom, they have a lounge cum reading room exclusively for the use of guests. There is a selection of books in this room and guests will have private use of this room.

Bedrooms are elegant and spacious with private western style bathroom that has a running hot and cold water shower. They use solar panels for heating water. The beds have excellent quality cotton linen. Quality toiletries and towels are provided.

Matagi Mundax Kerala Yoga and Meditation Retreat Program

Matagi Mundax teaches mindfulness Hatha yoga and meditation. It is slow and conscious movement, synchronized with the breathing and meditation on movement. Classes are suitable for beginners and intermediate students, but advanced practitioners are also welcome to the retreat. In order to give individual attention and provide guidelines according to the background and level of their guests, Matagi Mundax takes only four students per class. Yoga and meditation practice can be a deeply transforming experience that helps you to develop a new sense of yourself and what is of importance in one’s life, thus enabling one to learn new ways of creating greater inner balance and discovering the outer and inner wonders of life.

Mathew Plappally
Mathew was born in Kerala, India. He left India in 1988 with a backpack and a burning desire in his heart to see the world. He hitchhiked and worked his way around the world before settling down in New Zealand and lived there for the next 15 years. He has a passion for traveling and interacting with different cultures around the world. He found his real passion in teaching not only practicing yoga and meditation. Mathew has attended many yoga meditation spiritual retreats and is a certified yoga teacher.
Agi, originally from Poland, has an adventurous spirit. Her love for different cultures and languages brought her to Spain, where she lived for 12 years. Since she was very young, a curiosity for yoga aroused inside her. She laid her hands on the first yoga book at the age of 16 and she took her first steps by focusing on the respiratory exercises.

Matagi Mundax provides vegetarian Kerala cuisine. You will be served three meals daily. Kerala cuisine is mildly flavored, gently cooked, and has a certain gentle delicacy on the stomach. Food is often flavored with spices such as ginger, cloves, garlic, cinnamon, pepper, mustard, cumin, cardamom, turmeric, chilli, and coriander. These spices are used for the taste and to aid the digestion. They craft a new menu each day of your stay, so you will never be bored.
