Marije E. Paternotte was born and raised in Amsterdam, where she studied law and worked as a corporate lawyer. After joining a yoga retreat in Bali, life led her to the United States, where she took her first yoga teacher training. She currently lives in New Jersey, teaches yoga locally, as well as workshops and retreats around the world. She encourages her students to find their own yoga and to practice mindfulness in everything they do, thus cultivating nonjudgmental self-observation that leads to inner peace, genuine happiness, and the discovery of who they truly are.
Conveniently located in a rural setting near New York City and Boston, the Won Dharma Center is set on 426 acres in Claverack in upstate New York, USA, overlooking the Hudson Valley and the Catskill Mountains. Surrounded by wooded foothills with a nearby brook, the retreat center is a serene natural setting for contemplation and renewal.
The Won Dharma Center can be easily reached from the Albany International Airport (ALB), as well as from Bradley International Airport (BDL) and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
During this retreat, you will enjoy dinner on Friday night, three meals on Saturday, and breakfast as well as lunch on Sunday. All meals are vegetarian and served buffet style. Most dietary restrictions can be catered to with advice notice.

Taxi service is generally available at the Hudson station. Marije Paternotte recommends that you make a reservation for the taxi, especially in the evening. It is about a 15-minute drive from the Hudson AMTRAK Station to the Won Dharma Center.
The Won Dharma Center is not easily accessible by bus. Marije Paternotte recommends you take AMTRAK when you use public transportation. If you are coming from Boston, you can take Greyhound from Boston to Albany and then get a train to Hudson, New York.
Buses leave Boston about six times a day on weekdays, from around 7:00 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. and about five times a day on weekends from around 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Fares range from 38 USD to 50 USD.
The closest airport to the Won Dharma Center is the Albany International Airport (ALB). The Won Dharma Center is a forty-minute drive from Albany International Airport (ALB).
The other major airports are Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), LaGuardia Airport (LGA), and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
