Margherita will lead you through every step of this retreat with her unique combination of experience and care. All sessions will be adapted to the group and modifications of the poses will be offered to cater to all participants and to ensure that everyone is receiving the benefits of the practice and individual attention. There will be a morning and an evening practice each day. The morning sessions are invigorating and cleansing for the mind and body, and the evening practice is more cooling, slow flowy, restorative, or playful and incorporates meditation, yoga Nidra, and relaxation.
You will be staying in chic, comfortable rooms in soulful, natural settings. They have been thoughtfully designed, with sacred spaces providing the ultimate hideaways for relaxation and reflection.
From luxury suites with air conditioning to bamboo huts, find your perfect home within a wide range of ensuite accommodation.
Unassuming luxury in idyllic settings, the marvelous range of these rooms offer you comfort amidst natural surroundings. Located within the lush tropical gardens or within the Ashiyana Villa, these double rooms each have fans, mosquito nets, and private ensuite bathrooms.
Built almost entirely of wood, the design of these lodges was inspired by magical, Balinese architecture. Each of the three stand-alone structures has an upstairs and a downstairs lodge, with large balconies, wonderfully spacious, antique daybeds, and polished 'marble' bathrooms at the rear.
There will be a morning and an evening practice each day. Following the rhythm of the day, the morning sessions are invigorating, transformative, and cleansing for the mind and body. Meanwhile, the evening practice, more lunar and nurturing, incorporates meditation, yoga Nidra, and relaxation.
There will be two half days or one full day off midweek for excursions at the beautiful markets, spice fields, and Old Goa; boating to watch dolphins, waterfall trips, or just simply have some time off to rest and digest, sunbathing by the beach or having as many massages as you deserve.
Mornings generally begin at 07:30. Participants will have chai tea and fruit before yoga at 08:00 and brunch after practice. On the excursion days, meal schedules will be changed to enable free time.
Usually, the group ends up having the same all week to free up time, i.e. light snack before practice, brunch after practice, and then dinner after the evening practice.
On some days, there will be an earlier afternoon practice to allow a swim and sunset gazing before dinner.
Come a day early or leave late to spend an extra day exploring other parts of India or the beautiful North Goa and its unspoiled beaches.
In this Fire and Nectar immersive retreat in Goa, relax and recharge with expertly guided yoga and meditation classes, incredibly delicious organic food, and enough free time to truly let yourself go. Ashiyana Yoga Retreat and Ayurvedic Spa on the unspoiled Mandrem Beach in North Goa has a welcoming and magical environment that is the perfect place to blend good health with good living, indulge in massages, spend time in beautiful sandy beaches, make new friends, and return home with a toolbox of resources to drawn from to keep you going for months afterward.
Margherita’s unique teachings are grounded in the traditional lineage of Hatha yoga and the deep philosophy of Tantric practices married with the movement of soulful Vinyasa, the precision of Anusara, the dance of Rasa yoga - one of the most heartfelt synthesis of yoga, and the energetics of ParaYoga. She honors the traditions of yoga while awakening the true potential as an individual in the modern world. She hopes for each student to experience a journey that goes beyond the body and pierces deeply into the heart by weaving together asana, mantra, mudra, pranayama, meditation, and chanting.
Ashiyana Yoga Retreat is located just behind the beautiful and unspoilt Mandrem Beach, which is one of North Goa’s quieter stretches.
Set amidst abundant, tropical flora and fauna, it has been designed as a deeply nurturing space where you can relax your body, calm your mind, and awaken to your inner peace of being.
Most of the accommodation, yoga shalas, and restaurants are set a little in from the beach behind a lovely palm tree lined inlet. A little wooden bridge will take you over this inlet to the beach huts and then onto the beach.
About a 30 minute walk along the beach to the north of Mandrem is Arambol, the original Goan hippy hangout, and now a busy beach area with bars and live music for those who might like a night out.
A similar walk to the south is Ashvem, a very trendy beach with the well known La Plague restaurant and where Jade Jagger has her beach shop.

Your yoga practice should be supported by delicious and wholesome food. Nutrition plays a vital role in one's overall health, happiness, and wellbeing.
What is often overlooked, however, is that nutrition is not just about what you eat, but also when you eat, and your mental, emotional and physical state at the time of eating.
Food during the retreat is fresh, and whenever possible, organic. It is also sourced and produce locally, and according to the seasons.
The group will begin their nightly ‘fast’ by not eating late in the evening, and ‘break’ it around 14 hours later, at 10:00. Consuming food whilst your prana levels are high (avoiding late night or early morning), and eating a wholesome, balanced diet that is rich in nutrients, whilst feeling calm and happy, nurtures you physically, emotionally and mentally.
Ashiyana Goa's goal is to bring more awareness to the importance of good nutrition together with the other pillars of optimal well-being - loving relationships, exercise, sleep, calmness of mind, and a sense of purpose.
There will be ample free time between yoga sessions to relax and unwind. Activities include:
