"An amazing stay with Rupert and Olga and their delightful staff, a big mention to George and Suresh who did an amazing job of looking after all the yogis! No tourists, beautiful villas, fantastic food, and amazing yoga. Such a perfect taster to my first time in India! Loved every moment and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Kerala! "

"There are hardly words to express the wonder of this place. It is an oasis of beauty and peace, especially after the hubbub of the towns. Rupert and Olga could not be more considerate and nothing is too much trouble. The staffs are wonderful and food was absolutely delicious and presented beautifully. As an elderly woman traveling alone, I felt completely secure. I stayed in a beach side cottage, and opened my doors straight onto the beach each morning to watch the pretty fishing boats coming in and the wonderful sunsets each evening. I could lie in a hammock or on comfortable loungers, eat when I wished, or share with other guests if I wanted company. I was able to have great yoga sessions looking out to the odeon and visit local crafts. Five-star plus!"

"We spent eight days in Kerala last week, out of which three days were spent in Marari Villas. We enjoyed a long strip of sandy beach, coconut trees, fishermen, sea with warm water, something that we did not expect before. The villas are designed so homy, and we could see the blue water from every angle of the room. Surej took care of us for three days and arranged for the backwaters cruise from Allepey, taxi back to Kochi, and more. We strolled with the bikes around, walked along the beach, read books, and enjoyed every minute. We sent many pictures home, and now the whole family wants to come."

"This holiday exceeded all our expectations. We stayed at Marari Villas for two weeks. It was our first trip to India and we could not have asked for a better introduction to this wonderful country. Kerala is rich with culture with Hindu temples, Christian churches, museums, and the beautiful backwaters."

"Staying at Orchid Villa was the icing on the cake. Olga and Rupert were attentive, helpful, and great people to get to know. Shan was the house manager who organized our trips with efficiency and a calm good nature. Rajesh was a superb chef who also took us to the fish market in Alleppey and gave us a cookery lesson. His vegetable biryani was the best we have ever tasted. Benjamin was a friendly and conscientious beach attendant, while Tincy and Lali made sure we returned to daily fresh sheets adorned with flowers."

"The siting of the villa was ideal. It gave us privacy when required and yet allowed us to meet local people, particularly local school children. Their friendliness and curiosity was infectious! We were fortunate enough to visit the local school and tuition center, and we were so impressed by the teachers and the students."

"We hired a local driver through Olga and Rupert. His local and cultural knowledge was invaluable. We also used the auto rickshaws - great fun! Other highlights (and there were many) were: massages at a local centre, a beautiful backwaters trip followed by an enormous king prawn lunch, swimming in the warm Arabian sea with not another person in sight, eating katti rolls on the private beach, and an elephant experience on the same beach. "In the last 30 years, I have been avoiding India, thinking it would be too chaotic, but after I found Marari Villas, I decided to have a go. It has been the best travel experience I have ever had for 20 years. Everything was perfect, from the pickup at the airport to the welcome at the villa. We instantly got that feeling of being welcome. The staff was very service minded. Everything could be arranged when we liked it. The whole staff was very willing to answer a lot of our questions."

"We stayed for a week at Hibiscus cottage in May. Olga and Rupert arranged pick up from Cochin for us and we were met by Shan, our wonderful host, who looked after us so well, discrete and helpful, but aways available when we needed anything. The villa itself was everything we had hoped for. We loved the outdoor bathroom even in the rain! The food was lovely, prepared whenever we wanted it, and we managed to work our way through the entire menu. People said you will be sick of curry by the time you come home, but nothing could be further from the truth due to the variety and standard of food throughout our stay in Kerala. We chose to go out in a small hand paddled boat for our trip to the backwaters, allowing access to some of the smaller waterways, where you see everyday life going on for the local people, fishing with lines, cooking, washing, and kids messing about in the water. From the village at the top of the road, you can catch the local bus into Allepey for a few pence. If you are feeling energetic, the bikes at the villa are a good way to access other local villages and beaches. All the staff at Marari helps to make this a totally relaxing and stress free place to get away from it all."
