Accommodation staff and the food was amazing !
Maybe another shuttle service should be put in place to take guests to the local town centre as the resort is remote.

Food was great for a vegetarian. Quality of massage was amazing. Cleaning was spotless and room huge and beautiful.
I can't possibly find any negatives. Perhaps if I was picky, yoga was quite 'light', beginner level.

Beautiful grounds and pool area, spa treatments were a dream
As new people not on the program joined yoga each morning the classes were repetitive and I would have liked to have been pushed further developing as the week went on
October 2017, BookYogaRetreats
I liked the installations of the hotel, the quietness and the friendliness of the hotel staff. Comfortable rooms and great pool area. The pool bar and min bar could benefit from healthy options (smoothies, snacks…) and I suggest the breakfast also includes vegan/vegetarian options, and that a weekly meal menu is available so that guests can chose beforehand what they want. In general it felt like a tropical resort trying to rebrand itself to attract a new kind of health-conscious clientele, without backing up its proposal with the necessary resources.
Having previously done other yoga retreats in Thailand, on this occasion I felt disappointed to see there was not a structured yoga schedule or weekly activity program, as the Ayurvedic Doctor was also in charge of giving 1 yoga class a day and running the spa. Having arrived during the early morning, as soon as I arrived I discovered I had to pay an extra-night to be able to check-in my room, despite the 5 email and telephone exchanges I had had with the reservations staff, who assured me everything was completely paid for. After the stress of not having local currency to pay for this (didn’t think I had to), the next day I had to chase the staff around in order to get more information and was bounced around between the Reception Manager and the Reservations Manager, who arrived to work at different times (no yoga that day since Ayurvedic Dr. was on holiday). It seemed contradictory that the hotel staff was very confused because I stayed 6 days (not 5 or 7) with early flights, and didn’t know how much to charge me or how many massages hours I was entitled to (according to the program), whereas on the other hand, I had to insist go get more information about classes, meal plan and massage booking. It also seemed that as there were only 2 of us following the program that week, they were maintaining the program more informally. In this sense, it would be very positive if external yoga teachers could be brought in in order to have different levels and styles of yoga available.

The mix with 'non-Ayurvedic' guests
January trip with a scoopon deal . Was a little apprehensive before this stay at Mangosteen resort as TripAdvisor reviews are very mixed but we were pleasantly surprised . The property is high on a hill in Rawai looking over the ocean from a distance . Yes the road leading to the resort is not great and care must be taken especially at night if heading out to restaurants so take a torch . There are some great little restaurants if you walk out and turn right from the resort .kook restaurant and Annys are our favourites . The resort restaurant was great for breakfast and the two buffets we had there during our stay . The villas are a bit dated but comfortable and quiet and relaxing on the verandahs looking over the ocean on your own private hammock . The pool is lovely and being adult only resort is very relaxing and sun beds are always available . Great happy hour ! Also Lee was very friendly and did not put any pressure on us to sign up for their holiday vacation program . We had a wonderful relaxing holiday !
My wife and I were planning our next trip to Thailand and decided for The Mangosteen. It offered a quite unique program including an Ayurveda spa experience, which seemed a good choice for our yearly reset of body and mind.
Only after booking we decided to read a few more reviews, which made us think whether or not we made a good choice. Rantings about the jacuzzi included in the room, being actually outside the room, in a secluded, but open space.
In my opinion there's nothing strange about having to lock that area, but some people seem to have a problem with that. People also complained about the minibar to be too expensive, mold in showers, mosquitoes in the room, being
stalked by salesmen wanting you to buy into time-sharing apartments and so on.
However, our stay at the mangosteen turned out to be a very nice experience. We noted that the mentioned problems about mold, mosquitoes and the expensive minibar have been addressed by Mangosteen management.
We were approached by management by the way, and had a very pleasant conversation about the history and challenges managing the place. At least it made us aware of the challenges one comes across making sure Mangosteen customers are having the best time they could wish for. Well, we did!
At arrival we were welcomed by two smiling Thai ladies, and were privileged to make acquaintance with the Indian Ayurvedic doctor which was going to support our detox and yoga activities. He has a very thoughtful somewhat shy personality.
We talked about any minor health problems we could focus on and were treated individually for these. Nothing serious, but good to have different approaches to take away any bodily inconveniences. The food arrangement was adapted to
be vegan, specifically for the Ayurveda experience (as were the spa treatments). By choice people can have other food, like seafood, veal, pork, etc. in short, there is a taste for anyone.
The spa treatments are simply wonderful. We've seen many enthusiastic reactions other than ours alone. The treatments are a surge of Thai and Indian ways, to create an Ayurvedic approach.
---- Non techies better skip this part ;-) ----
One thing I do want to mention is, the WiFi definitely needs an upgrade, or at least some tweaking. You do get some more bandwidth when streaming video, like Netflix, but other stuff seems to be throttled to an uncomfortable minimum. I figure some sort of QoS is in place. Heighten the throttle a bit, and one could actually get some work done if necessary. I'm sure management will read this review as they did the others, and take care of it. I rather have a finite, but stable connection, then an infinite one which is throttled as it is now.
We decided to write this review, because we think the reviews written up to today are outdated, and not fair to represent the current service level at The Mangosteen. It deserves a higher appraisal.
Further more, if one is aware of the fact one might be approached by certain salesmen, they are easily avoided, or sent into the woods ;-)

Having stayed at beach resorts so many times before, I opted for Mangosteen which is adults only, sits atop a hill and is sited amid trees & shrubs, grounds and flora beautifully manicured.
The accommodation is extremely well appointed and features a shower contained in its own dedicated room, more resembling a steam room at a smart spa in appearance. Very good mini bar but oddly, no wine included.
The pool is simply magnificent! Large, in two generous segments plus an extension which completely surrounds the restaurant. It has a poolside bar with swim-up seating and here we find A'Aoy Ly (Oily on her name badge, pronounced Ili) who is terrific with her efficiency, smile and sense of humour.
The restaurant has a fine menu and most times I was waited on by Mook who was really good.
Reception was efficiently & helpfully staffed with Kat proving to be a winner.
A word about housekeeping. This is a difficult property for these hard working people and most days another lady named Mook serviced my room. Always with a big smile.
One thing you should consider. The resort is situated on a hill and several rooms are located a decent way down the slope. Paths are well designed but there are also steps to negotiate and if you have mobility issues, make sure you request a room as near to the top as possible.
The patio outside the rooms has a table, two chairs and a hammock.
Price-wise I rated it mid-range but it's at the upper end of mid, starting at 8,000THB per night.
I had seven days at Mangosteen and would certainly like to return. It's so quiet and peaceful, sometimes one is tempted to speak in hushed tones. Try it, you'll like it - promise.

There are so many wonderful things about Mangosteen Resort. Our villa was gorgeous, spacious and very comfortable. All the staff were friendly and helpful and went out of their way you to make you feel special. The pool area is spectacular and it is really easy just to sit and unwind if that is what you choose. The resort is set quite high up in tranquil, lush gardens, so the views of the surrounding areas and beaches was a a real treat especially for amateur photographers as ourselves because you just couldnt take a bad photo..
It is a really easy place to get around from if you enjoy sightseeing and Rawai and Nai Harn beaches are only a few minutes away. We had a number of meals at the resort and particpated in both of their weekly buffet nights which were exceptional in quality and selections. Buffet breakfast was also wonderful with lots of different foods to choose from.
One of the reasons I really wanted to stay here was because of the Ayurveda Spa and I was so delighted with all the services we had, that a couple of weeks down the track and we are still telling our family and friends about how good they were. It is a little more expensive than your dime a dozen massage places along all the streets but there is just no comparison.
I was fortunate enough to celebrate my birthday while there and the staff brought me to tears with their surprise gift left on my bed and lovely birthday cake that was brought out after having dinner with everyone singing. It was such a lovely gesture and a birthday I will always remember.
We were also fortunate enough to spend a bit of time with Ian and David and now consider them friends and so look forward to returning to this fabulous resort very soon to relax, unwind and also explore more of wonderful Phuket and surrounds.

The pre booking process was really easy. We were in communication with the Mangosteen Resort some six months before we arrived as we had booked our accommodation using a promotional offer. The resort kept in constant communication with us with regards to our forthcoming stay. The hotel staff responded quickly to our inquiries and requests via email so we went out on a holiday with complete peace of mind that everything had been taken care of before we arrived.
They were also quick to make us aware of the promotions that they had available, and responded to our enquiries about this efficiently.
As soon as we landed & collected our suitcases we were met by our driver at the airport, which we had arranged through the hotel at a very good rate. It was a smooth and friendly transfer, after what had been a very long flight from London. The driver was extremely friendly yet gave us our space to zone out after a long journey. The drive from Phuket Airport to the hotel was about 30 – 40 mins.
Once we arrived at Mangosteen Resort we were met by a smiley and friendly receptionist called Kat who introduced us to a member of staff who talked us through what to expect at the hotel. Later on we were met by another rep called Ian who was fantastic. He’s very knowledgeable about the hotel, the local area and gave us some ideas of places we can go. We felt immediately at ease and able to chat about the best places to visit, areas to venture to and the best options for transportation around the island. We’d probably go back to the hotel just to see him again! Kat was also fantastic, we built up a great relationship with her and she was very willing to answer questions we had about the language and phrases in Thailand. She became our go to Thai language tutor, and took on enquiries with good humor.
Our room was a.b.s.o.l.u.t.e.l.y amazing, very clean & spacious. We were fortunate enough to get an upgrade on our room upgrade. The décor is beautiful and you can tell they paid excellent attention to detail when designing the interior. We also had a Jacuzzi at the back that was just for us but unfortunately we were unable to use it as this was not working. We notified the staff at the front desk and within 5 mins had sent someone round to take a look at it. At this point time to went out to enjoy the day, on our return from the beach we were informed straight away that the Jacuzzi still wasn’t fix but the workman was out looking for the part. A little while later we were informed that unfortunately the part had to be shipped from Bangkok so the Jacuzzi wouldn’t be fixed in time for us to enjoy for our short stay. However they did offer us another room which we were allowed to take a look at before we made a decision. However by this point we had already fallen in love with our current room so we declined the switch. Instead they offered us unlimited use of the Jacuzzi in the spa for the rest of our stay which we thought was a lovely jester.
We ate at the hotel restaurant every morning as we pre booked breakfast. Fresh fruit was available every morning & the choice of breakfast available is very good also. The staff at the restaurant are all very friendly and efficient, and the food was delicious.
The grounds at Mangosteen are very beautiful & very well kept. The swimming pool is well designed & spacious with areas to chill and swim. If you’re looking for evening/night entertainment at Mangosteen then you won’t find it here nor do they have a games room. However if you’re looking for somewhere wherewith complete tranquility, beautiful scenery, good food, lovely, efficient & knowledgeable staff then look no further than The Mangosteen. So all in all the I would give the hotel an 9.5/10 the only reason why it isn’t a 10/10 is because they don’t have a games room or any night entertainment, but to be fair we didn’t stay here for that reason.
During our stay we had a meeting with one of the reps (Ian) great guy, he explained to us about becoming a member of their members club & the benefits you get if you’re a person or a couple that like to travel quite a bit. Me & my partner both thought that it was a brilliant offer & we really wanted to be a part of it. However we both have other financial commitments and were in the process of buying our first property so couldn’t take Ian up on this amazing offer which we were gutted about.
-Travelling around the Island and Local area:
My best advice is to rent a moped from the hotel and go exploring. Definitely visit the weekend night market which is probably around 20mins from the hotel. Feeling hungry and want to experience a restaurant outside the hotel then a restaurant called Kook Restaurant is where you want to go, the food is delicious and the service is brilliant. The restaurant is around 5 mins walk away. Once you come out of the main hotel gate, turn left walk to the end of that pathway and it will be directly in front of you. There are a few massage places that were really good. Our favorite is Solari Massage, which is not too far from the Kook restaurant. If you’re looking for a night out then Patong is where you want to head to, get a taxi service from the hotel & once you’re ready to leave Patong you can get a tuk tuk back to the hotel. There are many to choose from so you can negotiate a price that’s best for you.
All in all a FANTASTIC holiday at a BRILLIANT hotel. It’s definitely a place that we would come back to year after year. As a couple both in our early 30’s, we could see ourselves growing old with the Mangosteen.

We stayed at the Mangosteen for a week of our honeymoon. The resort was lovely with a great view of Chalong Bay from the restaurant, pool and most rooms.
This resorts greatest asset is its pool. Very well kept and lots of space to have a really good swim. It also has a cool swim up bar.
The spa is also another wonderful feature of the resort. It is a little more expensive than you would normally expect to pay in Thailand but is well worth it.
The staff were lovely and very helpful at every turn!
We had hired a car and were very glad that we did so, as the resort is not close to beaches or many restaurants although there is a great restaurant at the end of the street called Kooks. If you do hire a car, ask the hotel for directions to the resort as the first time, it was very hard to find!!
We had a great time at the Mangosteen although there were a few things we were disappointed in.
Breakfast is not included with your room - we added breakfast for 650b each, each day (over $300 Australian for the week). Breakfast was ok but nothing out of the ordinary. There is a lovely coffee shop down the road about a kilometre that we had breakfast at one morning & it was just as good (coffee was better here) for 350b for the two of us!! It is called the Coffee Bar.
As well, there is a sales pitch that each guest is expected to attend while staying at the Mangosteen. Even though we did our research, we did not find out about this until we checked in. We were quite taken aback as the customer service manager made us feel as if it was our responsibility to know ahead of time about this - although he did make a point of saying that there is absolutely no mention of a sales side of the resort on their website.
The resort is part of a group called Interval International, a kind of timeshare group. We politely declined to purchase any membership.
Our room was lovely - nice and roomy and well appointed. After we were moved to room 308 partway through the week, we had a wonderful view!
Again, we had a lovely time but were quite surprised at the sales pitch side of things.
Divine experience at this beautiful hotel, all the staff were five star, the pool was stunning. Within walking distance of amenities if you like a big hike from the main roads up to the hotel, plenty taxis though. Wish we were in a position to join this club. thank you for a much needed peaceful & relaxing week.
Thanks to all the staff at Mangosteen for making our stay there so wonderful. Such a beautiful resort perched on the top of the hill overlooking Chalong Bay. Within walking distance of a few good eating spots & regular shuttle to lovely NaiHarn beach. Such a friendly resort we met & made good friends during our stay there. Highly recommended. Dont be put off by the reports of pressured sales pitch because it wasn't at all. A leisurely breakfast with a chat about what you could buy into. No stress! Thanks again Cookie, Ian & all the beautiful helpful ladies at reception and in the restaurant & bar.
We have spent one week in this lovely resort and we found it faultless! The service is great, the room is spacious, clean and beautiful decorated! The resort offer free shuttle to/from the beach, 2 free bottles of water daily and shower gel/shampoo/cond./body milk also daily. It is located in a quiet area up on a hill, there is a mini market and a good restaurant very close to the resort(beside the one the hotel has, which i found it expensive comparing to the one across the street named Kook who offer awesome food, cheap prices and very clean!) We were very happy with this resort, we'll come back there and we can warmly recommend it! Thank u everyone at the Mangosteen, all of you are great!
The resort is lovely! It is clean, it has a beautiful pool, the service is good (employees in the spa and restaurant were adorable), the room is big and very nice decorated, they provide 2 free bottles of water a day, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body milk filled daily! Faultless! There is a few things you might need to know (not that is something negative about it because is a matter of taste but just for you to be able to choose right..!) The resort is located in Rawai about 20 km from Phuket and is very quiet.. if you want to have some fun in the evenings, lots of shops and restaurants than this place is not for you! Except the resort restaurant(which is very expensive and the food is not one of the best if u ask me), there is only one restaurant in the near vicinity that I would warmly recommend(great food and great prices) called Kook. The resort is up on a hill and when is very hot(which is almost always) it can be hard to keep coming and going from/to it..! We did some excursions and if u want to visit Phi Phi island than i would recommend to buy the trip from another agency cos at the hotel this trip cost 3200 baht (80 euro) per person and if you buy it from somewhere else you will get the same thing for half price.. they, at the hotel, says that they offer better things during the trip.. not true.. every company who's organizing this trip is offering the same things..! You might want to go to Phuket night market (only on saturdays and sundays) if u want cheap stuff, quite ok fakes (one Louis Vuitton bag costed me 550 baht-about 13 euro), the taxi cost 500 baht per way! The resort offers free shuttle to/from the beach, it takes about 10 min to get to this particular beach which is a nice one.. better than Katanoi, Karon or Patong (is quiet, you can get a shower or toilet for 20 baht, they have massage on the beach for 400 baht and a few places where you can buy water/soft drinks, food or stuff for the beach). All in one this resort was adorable, I would definitely return and I would definitely recommend it to those who want to rest and spend some quiet days...!

The Mangosteen really is Paradise! Amazing villas, pool area and local staff. Our room was equipped with an outdoor shower and was very relaxing and private. The pool area and bar were immaculately kept. Local staff very attentive, helpful and polite. Restaurant food was lovely. We did have to attend a meeting as per the conditions of the Groupon voucher we purchased which unfortunately was in the middle of the day, meaning we wasted the whole morning waiting for the meeting and the afternoon was almost over by the time the meeting had finished. We would recommend you have a breakfast meeting as an alternative if you can. Unfortunately for us the 'sales' team loitering around got a bit annoying. After our membership meeting we were asked numerous times if we would like to join, even having one of the team call our room at 9am the next morning to see if we had made a decision. When we informed them no, they took our answer respectively which was a softener after the hassling. One guy, let's call him biscuit, was especially annoying and after speaking to several other guests they felt the same, some even putting in complaints. Crude jokes at 8am are a bit much and being told you are in a bad mood is extremely inappropriate, especially when you are in a GREAT mood! We did not allow this to spoil our time at the Mangosteen, and would highly recommend the resort.

This place is something else. We booked a wowcher deal however upgraded as most couples have mentioned. Yes you spend more than your original deal but still a bargain. We upgraded to superior with Jacuzzi And the room was stunning. The bed was huge. Happy hour by the pool was between 3-6.30 which was fantastic making drinks buy one get one free. It's an adults only resort which is brilliant, so peaceful & relaxing. We were booked into a meeting with richard 1/2 way through our stay,, this isn't compulsory and we didn't mind attending to see what the resorts membership had to offer. Yes this meeting isn't in the fine print but obviously there had to be a catch with getting such a cheap stay. There was no pressure from richard, he's a great guy & I do believe the membership is a fantastic a opportunity for some people but we chose to kindly decline,, I wouldn't say it was for myself and my partner at this stage in our lives but would certainly recommend it for more frequent travellers or semi retired people that get chance to holiday more. Food in the hotel was outstanding, we booked onto the Thai buffet menu and also the 5 Asia menu which had an amazing choice of Chinese Thai, Indian,, fresh sushi was really delicious . Fantastic wine menu too. Staff were friendly with impeccable customer service skills they literally cannot do enough for you. We met the owner who was again very friendly and had some great banter with cookie by the pool. Breakfast wasn't great, we had a complimentary one with richard on our meeting day but there is plenty of good local places, we can recommend the coffee house for an amazing club sandwich. If your looking for pure relaxation then this is just perfect. The spa is amazing too. A little out the way if you want nightlife but taxi is available to go anywhere for around 600 baht. I would recommend hiring a scooter from the resort and exploring too. All in all 10/10

We loved Mangosteen! The best place to stay for a fabulous holiday! I have read some of the negative reviews on this place all be it not many at all! but these people who wrote such things must have rocks in their heads or just very hard to please! They would be wingers wherever they stayed. For my hubby Neil and I this place met our needs and much more! All the staff across all the many areas that run the place are extremely friendly, warm, welcoming and make you feel so very special! The porters, the reception staff, the house maidens, the maintenance staff, the waiters and waitresses, the pool staff, the gate keepers, all the staff who work so hard behind the scenes. Ian and Cookie are so welcoming friendly and warm! The resort is kept immaculately! The rooms are cleaned every day! The food in the restaurant is of great quality and tastes yummy! Thanks Chefs!
Second time at this resort away from the hustle and bustle of Phuket town and the tourist beaches yet close enough if you wish to visit these attractions. Pool area still great to spend time in and around. Villas well maintained. Local food vendors still great value and yummy - resort prices are costly. Enjoyed our time here again.

We loved staying at the Mangosteen. The staff treated us like family. The room was absolutely AMAZING and it was such a dream to stay there on our honeymoon. The pool was the best my husband and I have ever encountered. The food was incredible (with lots of local options nearby). It was a perfect oasis in a bustling city. Very clean, very beautiful, and overall a phenomenal place to enjoy Thailand. My husband and I enjoyed meeting the staff at the Mangosteen. They are the nicest people we encountered on our honeymoon in Thailand. We can't say enough wonderful things about them.
The Mangosteen was a beautiful place to relax and meet other guests from all over the world. The rooms are beautifully done with air-conditioning, complimentary toiletries and reasonable prices mini bar. Very clean and outside shower beautiful. The pool is fantastic, the way you can swim around under the restaurant and with its pool bar and jacuzzi. You can swim any time and there was always a bed. Guest relations recommended the John Grey trip that was fantastic and some good local restaurants. Everyone was so friendly. The breakfast was cooked fresh everyday and there was plenty of choice and the Theme nights were great and the Thai red wine went really well with the food. We also had an amazing massage on the first day, that took all the stress of work away. Tip take high factor sun cream with you. Thanks everyone for making it a great holiday.
Bought a Groupon voucher which was a great price, unfortunately had to upgrade due to unavailable rooms when we wanted to come but room was good, beautiful balcony where you can lie in a hammock and relax. No pressure from the sales reps which was good,we didn't eat or drink in the resort thought it was a bit expensive but plenty of places in Rawai to eat and drink. All in all a great place to stay, very relaxing and a good price.

What can I say? Honestly, this is the most divine resort I have ever stayed at, and believe me, I have stayed at many tropical resorts. Food - excellent. Staff - divine, friendly and efficient. Cocktails - brilliant (and cheap). Pool - loveliest pool ever (and huge). Villas - gorgeous, spacious, clean and sparkling. Day Spa - fabulous, relaxing, knowledgeable staff. Overall Feng Sui - perfection. My partner and I spent 8 of the loveliest days ever at this gorgeous resort. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Thank you for your hospitality and we can't wait until our return next year.

I was at the Mangosteen resort from 26th March 2016 for six nights with my husband. I had bought the Voucher from Groupon. Initially, I had thought it was a gimmick, asking for us to upgrade as the standard rooms were fully booked. I spoke to other guests, as it turned out, in order to get those Groupon deals, you have to book way in advance as they are very popular world wide. Not surprised, indeed very good value for money. I went for the upgrade and I can say, I was not disappointed at all. Cookie, as anyone been there will know, is a fabulous customer service guy. He made our stay a memorable one. If I may use the term "fantasy island" to describe this place, it was just that!!. It is located on a hill with fabulous sea view. Cookie introduced us to other guests and it sort of got the ball rolling. Everyone were so friendly by the pool enjoying "Happy Hour". We bought their famous buffet dinners for Monday and Thursday night. While the food tasted nice, do not expect large king prawns or large selection of seafood as there were none. I suppose that boils down to their food budget. Yes, we had to make an appointment for some presentation. It was conducted with Lee. We ended up running out of time and Lee was not trouble by it. He did not put any pressure on us. He just said perhaps on another time and wished us well. We upgraded to a Garden Villa with free 30 minutes spa each. The beautiful room is very spacious and the bed was firm which is recommended for our bad back. Our fruit basket was refilled daily which was nice. And we took advantage of the free shuttle to Hai Narn beach on two occasions and a trip to one of the local market. If you have the chance to do the free yoga on the Wednesday morning, do attend. Only place I had done yoga in the open space overlooking the Andaman sea. Beautiful...Om. Will I go back again? Most certainly.

I booked the resort through Interval International and the whole booking process was simple and straightforward. We arrived after 9pm and check in was a breeze. Our villa room was big and clean and well laid out we knew immediately that our stay would be a good one. The resort is beautifully designed and very well maintained with staff that truly go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Notable mentions are Tip, Moo, Kwan, Jessie and Kat. I was impressed with Cookie's ability to remember names even though we did not interact with him much he was always extremely friendly and good humoured. My wife and I spent many hours in or relaxing by the fantastic pool and enjoying the wonderful mixed scenery of the mountains and the ocean. Day trips were easily organised with reception and walking to the local shops and cafes was a real adventure. We enjoyed the two theme nights on the Monday and Thursday and must compliment the variety and quality of food that was provided. We highly recommend the Mangosteen Resort and would definitely stay here again.

We spent 7 nights at the Mangosteen and had the best time. We rate it as good as our stay at the Marriott beach Club & the Wyndham sea pearl resort in Phuket. Our 21 year old son arrived early hours of our last day & he also rated it as good as the other resorts, I think if you stipulated a rental car for the younger holidaymakers they would also enjoy it just as much as we did. The owner Hajo and his wife Rose are excellent hosts & have put together a fantastic resort, We must have misheard your wife's name as we would have had a great laugh with my Rose. Enjoyed our long chat around the pool with the lovely owners. We purchased the deal through Grabone knowing a great deal when we see one. The upgrade to Royal Balcony jacuzzi villa was the best idea, but the original rooms are also beautiful spacious & luxurious. The pool is a great feature. The staff are helpful and the sales presentation is far better than the others. We bought a 5 year vacation club & even after returning home believe we made a good decision. We're already looking forward to our return. Thanks to Ian, Mark and the staff, I highly recommend staying here.
We are returnees to this beautiful resort. wonderful staff, fantastic food - splurge & go to the wine cellar dinner. great long happy hour. will always return. Location is great, walk to Rawai, tuk tuk shuttle to NaiHarn. never wanting for anything Thank you again.

We bought the stay in this resort through Groupon NZ and at the price we got it for I wondered what the catch was. This is a club resort where you are encouraged by the team there to join the club which gives you benefits, they say to hotels and cruises round the world.Breakfast was an added extra and cost 100 GBP for 6 days for 2 and you had a free breakfast when you met with a sales person. They do not pressurise you but they are around the pool and restaurant area. The bonus of this is they introduce newcomers to you and we met some great people this way.The pool was excellent and I spend many a happy time swimming round. The cocktail happy hour was great but the food on the themed evenings was not so good.Overall if you know what you have signed up it's fine.

Excellent Resort! Great staff, rooms, and if looking for a quiet relaxing place to stay WOW this is it! Love the pool, spa is the best and view from the pool to the ocean is great! I had the Royal Balcony Jacuzzi Villa and was very romantic. The way the resort is design, would think you are the only ones there! Restaurant was also very good.
We have just returned from 7 nights at the Mangosteen and had a wonderful time. The owner Hajo and his wife Rose run a very professional resort with immaculate attention to detail. I purchased the deal through Groupon after much due diligence checking out other reviews and we were not disappointed. The jacuzzi villas are amazing, the pool sparkling and a real feature of the resort. The staff are very helpful and attentive and the sales presentation is not at all pushy. Thanks to Cookie, Richard, Lilly, Bow, Jessie and all the other staff we met and if you are considering a visit to Mangosteen I would highly recommend it!
Me and my wife had a fantastic time at the Mangosteen Resort staff were amazing wonderful people especially the restaurant host X. We can't wait to go back again hopefully sooner rather than later loved the pool and restaurant rooms were excellent had lots of fun staff was very helpful with booking tours thank you for making our holiday such a great experience.
We booked the Mangosteen via a Groupon deal. I Cannot speak highly enough of the staff, the service, and the location. Perfect to truly feel a world away from everything. They make you feel as if you are the only guests. The rooms are beautifully appointed and cleaned daily. The pool is better than magnificent with amazing views to the ocean. We hired mopeds through the hotel to explore local areas and beaches. Well worth it, its a safe and beautiful area. We would like to thank all of the staff at the Mangosteen (especially Ian, Cookie and Sunny) and recommend highly to anyone considering a Phuket holiday

We had an amazing week at the Mangosteen Resort. We bought the GrabOne deal in New Zealand for a week and wish we could have stayed another! To be honest I wish I was in a better financial situation to take up the membership offer as it is quite a good deal if you travel a lot.We decided to hire a car, the reception staff organised and it was delivered and picked up at the hotel. Great convenience! It really made a big difference to our stay as the hotel is a bit distant from the main road and we could come and go as we liked. As I am used to drive on the left side of the road I didn't find it difficult to drive in Phuket, however I certainly do not recommend anyone to drive at night! While we were there the hotel was constantly being maintained by staff so no wonder it is in such great condition! Beautifully manicured gardens, walkways and clean premises. I saw staff taking all outdoor furniture cover, washing and putting it back one afternoon.I really enjoyed this southern part of Phuket, close to Rawai beach where you can hire a longboat to Coral Island for 1500 THB (highly recommend) and close to many other beaches such as Nai Harn, Kata, close to Big Buddha and Wat Chalong. Far less hustle and bustle than Patong. We drove to Patong one day and was happy to get back to the more relaxing south. It is very close to boat trips to Phi Phi Islands and others. We also stayed at the hotel a considerable amount of time, the swimming pool was always so clean and inviting, a great relief in the very hot afternoon. Our room was huge with great air conditioning, free wifi signal and a jacuzzi in the balcony. The happy hour(s) is great, we made some friends and enjoyed having a bit of a laugh at the pool before getting ready for dinner. I highly recommend the Thai Lovers night, delicious and beautifully presented food! We ordered room service quite a few times and really enjoyed the food overall at the hotel. My only suggestion to make this resort an even better place is to have a guest laundry as some people (like me) prefer to do their own washing and I also suggest to have manicure/pedicure available at the spa (e.g. maybe one or two days a week). All staff at the resort was caring, friendly, great sense of humour and provided a prompt service during our stay. Many thanks to Richard, Sunny, Lilly and everyone at the Mangosteen for a great holiday.

Only 40 rooms located off the busy roads in an area of Phuket known for Spa, detox residential courses. Intimate hotel with well integrated landscape, pool and waterways overlooking the sea and hills. Great family run hotel with F&B evenings and free napkin folding sessions. Relaxing and with great breeze coming up from the sea.

We stayed for 7 nights in February on the buy invite voucher, this place honestly blew us away from the moment we arrived to the moment we left it was all service, service, service! The resort itself is very clean, well maintained and continuing to upgrade. The rooms regardless of level are spacious, clean, private, and comfortable! The swimming pool is one of the best Ive ever been in, massive and goes right through the first upper level of the resort. Very close to Rawai Beach or restaurants etc. plenty of sightseeing options if youre looking for it and all is booked through the resort for my. My wife loved the spa and spent more time in there than with me.

Just got back from 7 days at the resort. Fantastic resort in a great location with excellent facilities. The pool area is a great place to hang around and the spa massages are a real treat. The staff provide great service and the personal touch and attention by the owners was a pleasant surprise, lovely people. Perfect for people who want a relaxing time and place to launch daily trips from. Thoroughly recommend the experience.

In our judgment, this is the best of all we have stayed up to now, for cleanness, quality of the team, Ayurvedic food and results! But what make it unique are the skills and talents of Dr. Subhash, the architect and mastermind of the overall treatment. He makes the treatment special and tailored to anyones needs. He is supervising the kitchen to secure quality of foods and drinks, he is assisting you during the cleansing process, he recommends special massages, he is leading yoga classes in the morning, he is there for us!

I was totally overwhelmed by the excellent service I received from all the staff, especially the staff at the restaurant. If you are looking for a tranquil and peaceful resort with the best spa and massage packages, then this is the place to go. Beautifully set out rustic rooms in peaceful surroundings ticks all the boxes for a relaxing holiday at a reasonable price! I will definitely return next year!
