Your daily yoga classes will be practiced on the round Mandala yoga mats, led by Desiree Kleemann, the creator of the mats. The classes will be held in the open-air outdoor yoga pavilion with sweeping 360 degree views of the rice fields, Indian Ocean, and outlying islands. In the morning, you’ll flow through a practice on a beautiful round mat (yours to take home). Late afternoon, the classes will be gentle and restorative.
When people ask why it’s so special practicing on a six feet round mat, Mandala Yoga Retreat’s first response is “to experience the freedom of movement.” But it is not just the size. It is also the shape of the mat.
A circle, or a “mandala”, is more than merely a shape. It represents wholeness, with no beginning or end, no sharp corners, a continuous flow. On Mandala yoga mat, you will feel no confinement or borders. It is not a mat just for exercise. It is a mat to be creative on and enhance your yoga practice, experiencing the freedom of facing every direction in a flowing practice.
There will be two outings during the week of your retreat, one to Siring Water Temple, the most sacred water spring temple in Bali, and another to the village of Keliki.
After years of living and working with a variety of dance-related injuries, Desiree found the healing effects of yoga to benefit her physical body as well as her general state of mind. This healing path has brought her body back to a place of strength, balance, and ease. Having had so many teachers - artists, kinesiologists, yogis, and yoginis - inspires and encourages Desiree. She brings all these varied influences into the studio as a yoga teacher. Running her own yoga studio for the past 16 years gives her the opportunity to be creative in her own teaching style.
This retreat will take place in Bali, Indonesia.

Then, you will visit their village to learn about how water-catchment buildings have helped empower the women and enable them to provide for their families. Donations are not accepted, but as you visit several villages and charity projects, you will have the opportunity to purchase the goods made by these endearing and welcoming people.
This Bali charity trek is approximately seven hours long. You should be reasonably fit and able to walk up and down inclines for extended periods.
