Malangen Resort provides a unique combination of yoga and northern lights in the arctic. Yoga is performed twice per day in our resort facilities that overlook the Balsfjord. There are plenty of opportunities to explore the snowy wilderness in your free time and search for the northern lights. Stay cozy and warm at night in a variety of accommodation units such as seaside cabins, deluxe cabins, or stylish hotel rooms.
Malangen Resort has nine large deluxe waterfront cabins, which are ideal for larger families or smaller groups in search of that little extra. As the name suggests, the deluxe waterfront cabins are located right down on the coastal rocks, so you can awake to the relaxing sound of waves gently lapping just a few meters away single storey.
All the deluxe cabins have three bedrooms, the largest of which has two balconies and a bathroom upstairs. Downstairs, there is a lounge, kitchen, large furnished balcony, and a separate toilet. Some also have a laundry.
The self-contained kitchen features stove, dishwasher, coffee machine, fridge and freezer, all necessary kitchen equipment, and dining area, while the lounge features sofas and flat-screen TV. The bathroom, which also has a spectacular view of the fjord, has a shower and toilet and some also have bathtubs.
Malangen Resort has ten comfortable hotel rooms located on the top floor of the resort’s main building, two of which are superior rooms offering extra space, luxury, and comfort. There is a lift providing easy access. The well-appointed rooms offer a high standard of quality and comfort and feature a modern, relaxing decor. The walls feature art based on nature photography by a local photographer.
All rooms have double beds from Hästens, modern en suite bathroom, flat-screen TVs, Wi-Fi internet access, tea and coffee making facilities, and comfortable furnishings. In addition to extra space, the superior rooms have sofas, tables, and writing desks.
The sea-view cabins feature three bedrooms, making them ideal for larger families or smaller groups. Many of the cabins are located right down on the water’s edge, so you can awake to the relaxing sound of waves gently lapping just a few meters away. Others have an elevated location with equally spectacular views of the Malangen fjord and the surrounding mountains.
The modern cabins are all two storey with a spacious and comfortable lounge and kitchen downstairs and three bedrooms upstairs. The placement of the bathroom varies from cabin to cabin. The sea-view cabins sleep up to six guests.

You will have a northern lights watch tour with clothing, photography lessons, free photos of the northern lights from your tour, and hot meal and drink. Malangen Resort is located in one of the most visited Northern Light hotspots in the Tromsø area.
The 'watch' enhances your opportunity of seeing the mystical northern lights. You will prepare for this magical journey with a briefing about this natural phenomenon and the current conditions before you set off on a chase to wherever the light takes you.
The experienced guides continue the northern light chase long after you fall asleep. If they spot the elusive light dancing in the night sky while you’re sleeping, they will wake you up with a magical Sami song. That means it’s time to jump into your northern light survival kit and meet in the hotel lobby within ten minutes.

Half board meals are included in the price and will be based on a northern Norwegian cuisine with a french fusion. Malangen Resort also uses an abundance of local foods and produce.
Located near Camp Nikka, the resort has an intimate group of eager huskies just waiting to take you ,into the wilderness. You will start the adventure with a lesson in how to manage your own husky team, drive in pairs with a chance to change drivers in the halfway and finish the excursion with a delicious hot meal by an open fire.
Malangen Resort has built their camp small enough so there is no room for mass tourism and stress of any kind so you can concentrate on enjoying one of the best experiences the far north has to offer. All tours include thermal clothing, a lesson in how to manage your own husky team, and a hot meal after the staff take care of the dogs.
Fat bike is a mountain bike with oversized tires that are designed to run on soft and unstable terrain, like snow, making it a perfect vehicle to get around in the nature surrounding Malangen Resort. Rent a bike and take it out on your own to the well-marked tracks that the resort has prepared for you just for this purpose.
The Sámi are an indigenous people living on Europe’s northern extremes. Join a Sàmi to a lavvu (traditional tent) to listen to the stories born during thousands of years of nomadic lifestyle. Learn about the history, the culture, and the old beliefs of the Sàmi people in the glow of an open fire. Listen to the traditional joik (chanting) as you are having a taste of the most delicious Sàmi delicacy cooked by the fire. A light meal and hot drinks by an open fire are included.

As you return from the adventure, you will have a much wider perspective of the local nature, lifestyle, and of the skills needed in the wilderness.
The snowmobiles are waiting for you up at the mountains where you’ll travel by minibus for only 15 minutes. This unique adventure will take you to an unforgettable journey through the majestic sceneries of the region. You will drive in pairs with a chance to change the drivers in the halfway and will stop at our Linken camp to have a hot meal and warm drinks. This activity are only for adults and require a valid driving licence.
Access to the outdoor Jacuzzi and sauna are included in the price.
Please book your flight to arrive at Tromsø City Airport (TOS). Transfer from and to the airport is included. Malangen Resort will pick you up from the airport on 11:00 a.m. and 06:35 p.m.. Alternatively, you can also request to be picked up from city center at the Scandic Ishavhotel on 10:45 a.m. and 06:20 p.m.
